Saving the first $100k is difficult. The problem is people usually spend it away the moment they get it. Once I saved my first $200k, I was able to let my bank interest and stock portfolio generate a couple extra $1000s on their own each year. For the average income earners, there’s no easy way. They’re caught up with day to day work and can only save a little bit at a time.

If you’re referring to his selling drugs to start his record company as hate I’m ok with that. He admitted that he sold drugs ”crack”. Many babies were born addicted because of him and others like him. I can’t and I won’t respect the way he or anyone else that sells drugs to line their pockets with profits from people who are addicts. I’ll put my life on the line and bet he wouldn’t like it if someone sold his wife, his mother or children drugs. I have more respect for a addict than I do for someone that sells drugs. In my opinion drug dealers are predators. I say this because they know that person is vulnerable because of their addiction. They only care about one thing and that is money. The almighty dollar. This leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. And no I’m not a addict but I have people in my family that have died because of their addiction and those that have lived to tell about it say it’s a daily struggle. So for me it’s personal.

I do not like the fact that in order to start his journey toward this, he had to take advantage of vulnerable minded people as a drug dealer. Okay, soap box rant over! Having said that, once he did get his capital to do what he wanted, he never forgot that and went on to be symbol of positive change and mindset (in some areas, like finances...not all). I can respect what he has done. All though the "advice" is not new, some of the things being said bares repeating and reinforcing. For example, the one thing that does resonate is the last one, "Don't listen to anyone". He is absolutely correct when he states that what worked for one person will not work for someone else. With that type of advice, the best you can do is see what within it will work for you and disregard the rest.
