I absolutely love late seventies Fender Strats! The thick body and shallow body contours fits my body like glove and chunky but slim neck profile is super! Unfortunately I can't afford one but I do have a Japanese sq Squier CBS style Strat which has deeper body contours and a paper thin neck profile but I prefer the USA made version of course! I'm currently in the market for an Mexican made classic 70's Strat.
Great to see this guitar. I used to have a 79 the same colour (I left the black plastics on mine) and the paint on mine was chipping off exactly like yours only on mine it was happening on the front too. I read that it was an experimental primer that caused the cracking. I’d love to know for sure. Anyway, like you, the weight of the guitar gave me a frozen shoulder back i ‘82. I loved it but sold it and bought a JV Squire - all white! That got stolen. Hey ho! Great space above the store you have there. 👍👍
Not even close 😅mine is the best one! Solid Maple, no crazing in the paint, because it has no paint ❤. Original hardshell case and strap. I bought it when it was maybe two or three years old. Can’t remember exactly, because I was There!!! ( Bay Area) after several years in Hollyweird. Since I am about 8 or 10 years older than you. If you get my drift 😊 Looks like you have more equipment than I do though 😅and that’s a lot 🙏👍✌️
