In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the difference between white rice and brown rice. White rice is a refined product, they take the bran, germ, and husk away and strip it down to pure carbohydrates.
Brown rice has more nutrition and is lower glycemic index than the white rice but both of them have a high glycemic index and not good for losing weight. The brown rice also has phytates which are very powerful antioxidants that preserve the rice. He also talks about phytates in the form of IP6 and arsenic in brown rice.
IP6 is one of the most powerful antioxidants and take it with an empty stomach a few times a week because if you take it with food it could chelate or take out some of the minerals.
    Symptoms of Arsenic Poisoning:
    • Headaches
    • Drowsiness
    • Confusion
    • Metal Taste in Mouth
    • Problem Swallowing
    • Cramps in Muscle
    • Hair Loss

Yes In another video you mentioned all the things that are causing Asians to become obese. Its all the new bad things they are adding to the diet. If the worst food you are eating is rice then you could still live a long time and be healthy. But if you add a western diet your health can get much worse. Such as sugar, processed food, Eating often/snacks etc.

this is called being the outlier of statistics. you are not providing any useful argument. your grandparents lived 100+, while everyone around them doing the same exact thing died at 70-80. please stop using yourself as an example of white rice being fine to eat. it is not. we know with absolute certainty that it is a low-quality food because there are so many better options available. i personally suffer from bloating and other issues related to my skin condition when i eat white rice. cutting it out of my diet has helped me. but that does not mean i can speak on a general level like you do.

Please note: 1.) you can remove up to 50% of arsenic from brown rice. Boil water then add rice. Let boil 5 more minutes -- then drain and discard the water. Much of the arsenic will be in this water. ( I also rinse once. ) Then add final fresh water ( to be absorbed by rice ) and finish cooking.
2.) Also! -> if you add some Cilantro this will naturally chelate heavy metals ( like arsenic ) from your body. Chlorella and cilantro work well together: Cilantro removes heavy metals from tissues and chlorella helps prevent them from being reabsorbed into the body.

Soak your grains! And your seeds and nuts. There are scientific papers published on the effect of removing phylates from whole grains based on soaking times. Soaking brown rice for a few hours or overnight does a lot. Also, Basmati rice has a different profile than long grain commercial rice. It would have been nice to address that as well. People survive just fine on rice without gaining weight nor getting diabetes. Avoiding rice altogether seems drastic in that case, no?

  • @101life9

Prewash and presoak the brown rice overnight before cooking with a pinch of salt ( not salting it 😅 ). Secondly, CHEW the grain really good before swallowing. It has a mild sweet taste to it. If you choose to eat it. Just sharing own experience 😊. How to cook? Wash, soak it overnight with the required amount of water. Pinch of salt, cover and leave it overnight before cooking. 2). Quick boiling, then turn flame to low for 50 mins. Covered without opening (Keep pressure/heat in). Done, fluff it. Yum... Try it. Eat in very moderation if you choose.

If you're planning to lose weight with brown rice you're aim is for it to soak as much water as possible. I don't want to loose weight but this is simply how I like my brown rice. I put 1 cup of rice with 4 cups of water and cook it covered with a lid at very low heat. I let it simmer ( it hardly boils ) and then when it's a cm or two from the surface of the water I take it off the heat and let it soak in the water. It will eventually soak 95% of the water and the water that is not absorbed will thicken when cooled down.
So basically you eat A lot but it's 80% water and it's pretty filling. You could combine it with some well seasoned meat or prepare it as you'd like. The magic of rice is that you can give it the taste of you're favorite dish without putting too many unhealthy ingredients in it.
It's very filling and doesn't constipate you unlike how the rice made by my pinoy gf which is cooked but dehydrated.

rghklh I am Brazilian and I never ate rice since childhood. There is something about rice and black beans that the combination is very healthy. Don't ask me what as I watched in the news many years ago when the Brazilians wanted to lose weight and decided to remove these foods from their diet. The nutritionists were against removing them. I personally think rice is just to make one feel full. No taste. Never needed. Never will.
Your friends are probably young with fast metabolism, move a lot, and don't eat junk but real foods. I don't know what is to visit other areas of a supermarket that is not the vegetables/fruits and meat/dairy. Obesity is increasing in Brazil especially with fast food on the rise. The poor eat homemade black beans and rice daily and is thin. The rich eat Japanese (rice) takeaway full of msg and is fat.

KETO is 💩 not eating rice is 💩 not having sweets at all is 💩
Listen to me, if you're desperately trying to find something that makes you lose weight or to see what to eat etc. Take a deep breath and just think about this. Why would you waste your god damn life stressing about food, FOOD IS GOOD! ENJOY IT, sometimes you eat too much, yes, totally fine and it's okay. Next time you eat too much again, it's still okay. If you want to make some changes with your eating habits.. Eat more healthy but don't be so harsh on yourself. If you want to have chocolate and chips, eat it. You need to find your own personal balance with your life and how you, YOU can make it through and make better choices and it will not happen over night. I know this myself.
And when you finally find this place in your head where you can say,.. I feel like having sweets but i know I should eat something what is not unhealthy and then it doesn't bother you anymore for not having sweets that much like it did in the beginning.
Just saying, you are going to be okay 🙏 say No to stress 🙈

I now eat it a few times a week. arsenic is high in many fruits and cruciferous vegetables as well and we aren't told to give those up. its not the food it's the soil it's grown in and unfortunately with pesticides and geoengineering the soil is horrible everywhere. I do try and be mindful of where the rice was grown and I also make sure to rinse it and cook it in pure spring water or distilled water because the rice actually absorbs a lot of the bad stuff from the water it is cooked in.
