    “Perhaps it’s this button” *presses button... station says... NO* 😂

    It can never be truly calibrated for precision use because there are so many other factors, your ambient temperature, how close/far the tip is from work surface, tips angle, air pressure. But for rough approx reference, its good to see the calibration function in this device.

    What temp do you normally work at doing BGA work?

    I have a clone of the repair station Quick-706. His name is UnionTest-706 (Russian low cost brand). Thermal stability is worse than the Quick-857D (857DW - brushless motor). Recently purchased also Quick-861DW. But I ordered the NK-850 nozzle in Poland. This adapter, which allows the use of standard nozzles from the 850 series station. That will save on buying expensive baits for large BGA chips. I'm sure this information was useful.

    I would suggest not doing this so close to the meter - if the cold junction for the thermocouple is in the meter (or the plug) you're gonna throw off the reading accuracy because of the heat. Potentially a whole lot.

    Thanks for the info.
    I just don't understand why don't they calibrate it in the factory ? Its not so complicated or long process at all.

  • @Shadowcruise99

    That was a bit confusing, I'm not convinced. Are you sure you actually performed a global calibration or simply saved a preset for channel 2 at 220º?

      One way to find out...calibrate, then measure temp with thermocouple

    I want to buy a Quick 861DW station in The Netherlands, but I'm afraid that I buy the fake one.
    How can I check if the station is Original?

      Marvin Boon I'm not sure. Just buy from a reputable dealer.

    Do you guys use a 110 to 220 transformer on this ? Or do they sell a 110v version. I've been googling around but can't find much information on this.

    • @Microsoldering
      @Microsoldering  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the 861DW is for 110V and the 861DE is for 220V.

    • @axlmagdanimartinez
      @axlmagdanimartinez 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks You! I was unaware of the 861DE existence 👌🏼

    • @cyloncenturion4528
      @cyloncenturion4528 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Friend, you are mistaken. 861DW - Flow 120 liters per minute. 861DE - Flow 120 liters per minute. You can see the disassembly on the Fix Apple-The Kardi Lab channel. The 861DE has a very strong airflow. It takes a very long time to gain maximum flow in cooling mode. And very much noises. Dave at EEVBLOG (forum) has a photo of 861DW .. You can compare .. The same disassembly of the 861DW is on the Bga Mobile channel (i use google translator from RU. Ths.)

    • @axlmagdanimartinez
      @axlmagdanimartinez 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      So in other words, 861DW is the way to go correct ?

    • @cyloncenturion4528
      @cyloncenturion4528 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh.. my error.. copy-paste with translator.. sorry.. read as "861DW - Flow 120 liters per minute. 861DE - Flow 200 liters per minute".
      if it is not necessary to solder large bga chip (video card or specialized industrial equipment) - 861DW is the "ideal" Hot Air Station. I can see is only one drawback - it is very expensive attachments. But he decided to purchase the nozzle NK-850 (I bought at Quick representatives in Poland). I would like to buy more Quick-860DA micro hot air station .. and compared in the living .. but it will not be before the end of the month of May. At the mini station very strong air flow and high noise .. but the high heat setting.

    Hello it could calibrate 380 C and 6 air and WITH THE THERMOMETER mark 380 C is correct?

      Yeah that will work

      Thank you, you use it at 415 degrees and 10 air and 6mm tip ?

    • @Microsoldering
      @Microsoldering  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I use the 6mm only for touch ic repairs. I use 4mm and air flow of 5 for almost everything else

    • @ferch865
      @ferch865 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dont get the point. I guess the machine could even walk and I am unaware of it. I use it only with normal temp control and fan control and I have present all 3 channels. What is the point of this calibration?

    You seem to be the only person that speaks English that owns a quick brand. I'm considering tracking down a 120v version, but wondering about tip nozzle compatibility. Will generic 850 style nozzles fit? Hope I don't have to buy special ones!
    Thanks!

    • @Microsoldering
      @Microsoldering  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, this unit uses proprietary tips.

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply! Still recommend quick brand now that you've had a chance to get to know it?
      I worry about lack of support in the united states.
      I might just hang on to my annoying cheap aoyue for now.

    • @Microsoldering
      @Microsoldering  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I've used and tested Aoyue, Oki, and Quick hot air rework stations and I can say that the Quick is by far the best one. I'm testing the cheaper Quick 957DW right now.

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see MCM has the QUICK712A for $299 but they give like a 10-20% off code for new customers.
      I wish Quick was more popular in the states, instead were flooded with no name Chinese stuff.

    Thanks for this. Been looking at the 861DW to add to my bench. But still wavering. Have a couple of used options locally. Any advice on a used Hakko 850? Thoughts? Also know anything about Hakko's 703b and 807 desolder gun?
