This is literally my problem..... some task are such analytical and rhetorical that I am getting so frustrated when I am getting asked for such things.....obviously the answer is there air we don't even want to cover this, seems like I need to swallow my weakness and get it done for them ...thanks again, Cass!

This is really good. Could you please give advice on how to stand out and be memorable while still answering the prompt? How much liberty may I take with this? How creative can I get?

I have one Tuesday. It was the topic of my choice via zoom with 6 people. I am so nervous! I have 20-30 min.

How did it go? Was it really 20-30 minutes of presenting?

I have an upcoming presentation interview, but the prompt/topic is completely open ended. The position is for a software technical pre-sales role, but the audience is mostly non-technical sales people minus one technical guy. What topic do you think is best? I was planning on introducing myself, selling myself, and then proving my skills by giving a mini technical presentation of the main product. I was also going to try to work in an opportunity for how to improve selling this relatively new software, and wrap up by addressing any concerns or questions at the end. The presentation is targeted at 20 minutes, and I plan to keep it to that. My main concern is I may be attacking too many objectives and trying to present an overview/improvements for a product when I am new to experts may be a bad idea, especially since I only have access to public information. Thank you for your tips on the basics, which in general is the key for a good presentation.

Give them a price range. The lowest you’ll go, and over the amount you want by $5 an hour to $10k month salary

I have to do a zoom interview presentation over my two greatest strengths (20-30 min). Do you have any specific tips on something like this?

I went to an interview with 10 people sitting there. I have never attended an interview like this before. I have another interview scheduled for tomorrow, and she mentioned there will be several people in the room, is this common now?? My last interview went horribly! They asked a question and when I will start speaking, nobody would look at me they were all taking notes. I felt very unengaged, is this also normal??

Unfortunately taking notes and looking I engaged is very normal. And panel interviews seem to be more and more popular. You still need to be looking at them even if they aren’t looking back!

@@CassThompsonConsulting thank you, I told myself to just pretend they are looking at me. Fingers crossed it all goes well this afternoon.

I am a librarian ane more than likely will have to do a presentation demonstrating instruction in an interview. In this case, do you still recommend not handling the presentation for other library staff as if they were students attending an information literacy class.

It depends on their prompt. If they told you to act as if they were students or what you would actually present to students, then go ahead and do it that way.

How useless. You talk a lot but you don't say much. What a shame.
