    It's amazing how small and simple your trackplan is when shown on a diagram, yet in the video it looks insanely massive. Amazing amount of operations packed in a relatively small space. Love the light rail station. The ashphalt on that highway bridge is pure artwork. And that was a fun little business car special to have go around the tracks. What is it like to make the decision to yank an industry out of rail service? I am asking as I would have a hard time doing that--and not just because of the space limitations on my end. Thanks again for sharing.

    • @emillerz
      @emillerz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I hadn't realized that about the simplicity of the track diagram versus how the layout could look larger in life. I would say the decision to remove an industry is very relaxing - I really enjoy making things simpler and taking out something that I didn't fully like anyway.

      Yeah it looks really nice, so I hope I can get the trucks working better! I was really hoping that the new track at Albright would have solved the issues that I had with it before, but it evidently was not the tight curves being the problem...

      th-cam.com/video/_1SZ9lCVddc/w-d-xo.html

    I see that you got your Proto Throttle back! Great small layout! Eric, do you live in the South Omaha/Bellevue area? Bruce Giroux lives in Council Bluffs, IA. I think he lives new Lake Manawa? I've always thought about having a layout depicting the Power Plant and the Ethanol Plant and the container yards of Council Bluffs, IA! You and @John2618 like your small switching layouts! If you do live in the Omaha area, we might have to meet sometime?

    • @emillerz
      @emillerz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, the Proto Throttle just needed to have a handle gear fixed and they were able to do it free of charge. I actually live in the Denver area and have been here for about 15 years. Before that, I lived in Bellevue, where I grew up, so that's why I enjoy modeling the South Omaha/Bellevue area. That sounds like a fun idea for a model railroad layout. And thanks for the tip on checking out Bruce's switching layout.

    • @emillerz
      @emillerz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I have always been intrigued by the TP&W, especially since the Santa Fe had acquired it during the SPSF merger era. So I figured I would have some TP&W cars to show that ownership and also my interest in it.

    • @emillerz
      @emillerz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! It's actually a Gemini capsule and I found it when looking for a 1/100 scale Gemini model (I could not find a 1/87, so my options were 1/100 or 1/72) and this one is a 3D-printed model that I found on Shapeways.

    Just ran across your channel. I know the locks on the facia are for the switches, but what is in the boxes that have a lock?

    • @emillerz
      @emillerz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The boxes serve two purposes. The small ones are for unlocking gates to the spur tracks and the larger ones hold notes to the crew from the industry with instructions on where to place the cars. The crew will open the box before switching the customer to make sure the gate is open and read any instructions from the industry.

    Where did you get the MAT buses?

    • @emillerz
      @emillerz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's cool you noticed that - these are HO Scale Road Champs Flxible buses that were made a couple decades ago. I stripped the paint off them (they were originally painted for Houston METRO) and then I painted them up in a slightly altered Omaha MAT scheme, with decals that I designed myself.
