You are so intelligent and skillful I can see you having your own shop with diagnostic services sometime in the future to put your skills to good use and make some good money

My friend I have had the same problem. the very cheap fuses are made of aluminum. I now have a bit more expensive fuses and they have a special layer that they don't rust before It's all about money and quality
We all got to know your wiring a little bit better in my case I wasn't having brake light so I did look at the orange and white wire so I follow the white wire to the connector on the opposite side of steering column and it wasn't all the way in. Thank you. P.s. I'm thinking of buying that Power Probe
Nice work, found the issue and cleaned up some wires along the way. She needed the work you put into it even if you though it might have been a simple repair.
Great work troubleshooting is goal and right tool, learning something new everyday😀😀 I must have the electric tool you use, is great too trubleshoot electric stuff😀😀 Love too see more of this truck😀😀🇺🇲🇺🇲🇧🇻🇧🇻
With electrical faults, checking earth points on a vehicle is a good place to start, if they are not making good contact you will have endless problems.
glad you got the lights working. If some one has already mentioned great, but if not the clock on your radio was working in your first video. Said 1:00
My 1996 Chevy Suburban K1500 was manufactured in Canada. The entire thing is built with Metric. Not that I mind dem Canadians did a good job building her so yeah …. It just always throws me off when I go between my 1969 Chevy and my 1996 Chevy and I gotta swap out for my Metric tools. You would think using both systems would make you more versatile but Now I just suck at both, got me all confused.
Looking at the end with that belt, that "pointless pulley" sure looks like an air smog delete pulley. I did this on my 1988 where there was an air pump there that was intended for emissions. The difference with me was I did not install a pulley and use the same size belt but rather I pulled the pump and found the correct size belt (smaller) that went in place without the smog pump. These trucks were sold in all sorts of markets, like Mexico where that pump was not required and so they didn't get it there, so the belt I used was what was listed for that year / model engine size w/ out smog pump. The local auto store should be able to look it up. I suggest doing this because that pulley looks like it wore out the belt. I also agree with you that because of the clamp well basically you got someone elses hack implemented incorrectly. The correct way to do it that would be reliable is to get rid of the pulley and run the correct smaller belt or go get a smog pump and using the OEM size belt but that would not be advisable.
That group of ORANGE WIRES WERE PUT TOGETHER FROM THE FACTORY like that I've encountered the same wiring like that in CARS I've worked on so leave them that way you will mess up if you don't I would say that your problem is in the MELTED GREEN & WHITE WIRE or somewhere along that line something had to cause those WIRES to get HOT & MELT they had to get plenty HOT to do that too
belt... ridges go on ridges. flat goes to flat. if the diagram tells you different, its the wrong diagram. good job with the wiring. roundabout way, but got it done.
I have a issue with me 92 Chevy change the brake light switch and my break lights don’t work but my parking lights do at time when I do break you see it but it’s really dim
very informative an another great video like the dum guy said why not put a new fuse first some of the simplest things work good yea who for simplitly if a people learns the hard way will know it forever
i had a 2005 ram 5.7 that i had lighting problems no parking lights. spraying the back of the fuse box with wd40 worked for a year then i bought a replacment on Amazon 176 dollars brand new truck.
Did you get it fixed? It could be something to do with the trailer connection that connects from the right side. I always get a burnt out right blinker when the trailer connection shirts out causing the fuse to blow. There is a fuse specially appointed to just the right side for that reason. I am talking about a 2019 dodge ram 3500 though. But just an idea that could apply to what you're dealing with.
i have yet to find a bolt on my K series 95 GM chevy tahoe that was not metric. the 01 GM pontiac sunfire either. all METRIC. the tahoe was made in wisconsin.
1991 Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD. I have running lights, backup lights and both turn signals working. But no break lights and no emergency flasher lights. Already replaced brake switch, fuses and bulbs. Still no brake lights. No bad grounds found. We have tried just about everything we can think of. We need the break lights to pass the inspection. Do turn signal lights and brake lights share the same circuit on older vehicles? Could it be a bad turn signal switch even though the turn signals work fine?
i know your learning but you need to pull the tail lights there circuit boards there that go bad especially in salty climates or when the truck sits they corrode and turn green
The duct tape is not done by the factory or by the dealer. I`d bet the farm that whomever added in the trailer brake controller (likely some trailer sales place) was the party guilty of using duct tape to `close`after the (botched) operation.

You took that alot better than I would have! I envy your fortitude.
Good to see the problem's cut down to size. Best of everything to you.

Before beginning any electrical work on a car, unplug all your fuses and inspect them all, and make sure to clean your battery leads!
nice video,cool truck!!
Good job gretings from Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
very good 👍. Nice pickup
YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE MELTED TAIL LIGHT LENS, THE BACK OF TRUCK IS LOOKING TIDY EXCEPT FOR THAT.

do you still got this truck and when will you be uploading another video on this truck?
Awesome job man i would have got ticked off and i would have took it out to the wood and burned it lmao
i had a 2005 ram 5.7 that i had lighting problems no parking lights. spraying the back of the fuse box with wd40 worked for a year then i bought a replacment on Amazon 176 dollars brand new truck.
Mine was a box in the frame rail on the drivers side.
thank you for your video i find the problem with the same fuse
You're welcome, glad it helped! :)
did you check grounds at back of truck always check grounds also
Would that be same problem with Manuel transmission because my reverse light was are not working
Your Amazon store link isn't working. Do you have a link or a name for that power probe?
What are your plans with this old chev? Are you gonns make it road worthy and keep it, Selling it?
Hopefully keep it, if i go to sell it i'll give an update
@@ClassALiving nice man, its a great looking truck, best bodystyle in my opinion.
Wish mine was this ... im chasing the dark green wire for the right brake light now ... not getting power out to the right brake
No right turn signal either

I'm having the exact same issue...

Did you figure out why you had no brake lights? I think I'm in the same boat. I *think* my brake switch is good, but not 100% sure.....
That box ur holding at 14:14 that’s ur chime box
at 7;35 is your fuel pump relay
im sorry i stand corrected it wasn't in the circuit boards in the tail lights
I got a 1994 Chevy 1500 with rear turn signals not working and brake lights not working. Everything else works fine. Any idea what it could be?
I would start by checking your ground connections
Can you make a video on how to prenouce brake light if not no worries sorry I’m a new driver it’s hard for me to prenouce it
I'm having the same problem my brake lights will not work at all i can't seem to figure it out replaced brake light switch.
i know your learning but you need to pull the tail lights there circuit boards there that go bad especially in salty climates or when the truck sits they corrode and turn green
I had this problem on an audi I found it was the switch above the break pedal.
Mine had the same issue run power wire and it brakes work now but did and ls swap an know they don’t 😭
finally
My hazards work and my cab brake light work but no brakes power to tail end
@23:17 What fuse? :P
Video I wish you were tracing the white wire I have power at my orange wire. When I jump orange to White nothing happens not even a spark
a service manual with wiring diagrams would have helped you find out where wires went to & give you a better idea of what to look for . . .
thought about it, but i was looking for melted wires, can't see those in a wiring diagram ...
have no idea what he is doing that one relay he had was fuel pump but you learn
but still a great video man like the truck have an 89 myself
They (gm) all do that they solder the wires and put duct tape over it. Idk if they got a sale on it? But it's what they use
The duct tape is not done by the factory or by the dealer. I`d bet the farm that whomever added in the trailer brake controller (likely some trailer sales place) was the party guilty of using duct tape to `close`after the (botched) operation.
