My family were in Indianapolis for Urbana 2022 college bible teaching- which was very excellent. We had the morning free, so thought we'd like to support you. On tired feet, about a mile away, we asked for directions to your library reading. The response? "you'll never get there in time..........Get in!" A really nice peace officer drove us to your event. After five flights of full escalators, we arrived at a Disneyworld style cattle chute waiting line, which was now weaving between 40' bookshelves. It was at that time that I jumped ship.- not having a little kid in tow, nor the right to take such a place for one. What looked like 1,000 family members, overwhelmed much of the library. Creating a sea of strollers, and small hands being held, all hoping to fit in to the too-small (officially a120 max capacity) classroom, in the nosebleed section of this monstrous public building. naturally we never met. We only knew when you left by the loud Beatlemania style roar from the nice folks. I met, some who drove 2, to 3.5 hours away. It is really cool for you to give them vouchers for your book Kirk. Many thanks on behalf of the majority who could not hear, or see you read.

It is especially tragic when the church silences its own with the premise of "being nice" or "not getting political." I call it "Sit Down and Shut Up Christianity," and it actually serves to promote the authoritarianism/totalitarianism that would seek to obliterate the church if it could.

I miss the variety shows we had in the 70s, like the Johnny Cash show. He had so many people on from various walks of life and treated them with dignity and respect and unapologetically expressed his Christian values. He just kind of felt like everyone’s dad.
