I know both characters deaths were inevitable as they were in the comics, but after that moment the saviors arc didn’t save the show hahha. Sasha had to go that hurt... I think when it came down to it.. Rick leaving and Maggie leaving temporarily is what made everything worse. It was at least still watchable with rick there and when he left.. sure their were other characters but it just wasn’t the same...
Carl should have lived. If anyone of the two was meant to die first it should have been Rick as Carl was meant to carry on his legacy. What was all that character development even for? Ricks story is nothing without Carl. That's what the show was all sort of about really. Rick trying to protect his family by rebuilding civilisation in a world where there was no future for them. Also Carl had become less whiny.
Literally was devastated when he was killed off then they put Henry on his pedestal and then I slightly start getting used to the idea then they kill him off and then Enid too which was so annoying when her character was starting to get even better
The biggest mistake they ever made in the show was taking Carl out. Chandler would’ve still done phenomenal if they had taken Rick out & had him as a leader.
Angela Kang has done a great job with Seasons 9-10, but I'll forever be salty about Gimple's decision to kill Carl in Season 8. Would've been some amazing tv moments if Carl was still around and Morgan didn't get moved to Fear.
Killing Carl was the worst decision made for The Walking Dead TV show. I mean the character was supposed to represent the future for life in this post-apocalyptic world. Carl eventually steps up to the role of leader when the massive zombie horde that the Whisperers brought to the communities was bearing down on them. He started giving commands to all of their soldiers and Lydia actually admired him and fell in love with him more after seeing that.
Still to this day I wish he got his comic book ending. At the very end of the show, a time skip, Carl is married, has a daughter just like the comics. He's such a badass. It would of been the best way to finish his story.
I personally didn't give a shit when they killed Carl I couldn't stand his character but I have to admit I would of loved to see how Carl and Judith interacted with each other and how carl protects her as an older brother and how she keeps him grounded and stops him going off the deep end
If they kept him alive they would have to recast him with an older actor because of the timejump like they did with henry. So I guess they didn't want that!

TWD show has always killed off characters that weren’t supposed to be killed off or just for shock money. Examples: Andrea, Carl, Beth, etc. so pretty much I give up on the show because of this
The real reason they killed off Carl was because they wanted to give a reason for Rick to spare Negan. I found this to be pathetic and pointless. I always hated Negan long before he was even on the show. He was a villain who killed beloved heroes, he was spared, redeemed himself and never died. That's the worst villain story arc ever. Villains are supposed to come in do their dirty deeds and eventually die. If Negan doesn't die before the shoe ends, I'll never forgive Kirkman or the show runners.
I think the reason that Carl died by a walker bite was because the survivors weren't worried about them at the time and thought they were not a threat so carl dying to a walker bite shows that walkers can kill anyone I still thinks he should of died a different way though
Riggs won't say it because he's professional and if you go on a rant even when you're in the right and completely justified, the narrative can still be twisted against you and unfortunately, we live in aworld and culture that has far too many sheep that cannot see things for what they truly are and actually put in research to see what is the truth and what isn't. That being said, Riggs knows this is all BS and that him getting killed off was a colossal mistake that NO ONE, to this day, agrees with. Some people say Riggs wasn't that great of an actor (to which even Riggs himself admitted he kind of mailed it in a few times and wasn't always motivated when he should have been) and while that may be true, he is certainly is a way better actor than Stephen Amell who is wooden as hell, can't properly emote and that dude starred in 8 seasons of a superhero show off sex appeal alone. Riggs would have gotten better should he have kept going and he got incorporated in more of the comic storylines with the Whisperers, Lydia, etc. Same way they did Tom Payne wrong with Jesus, they completely screwed up Carl as well. And yes Gimple did it and vaused him to be fired, AMC may be the one writing/signing the checks but its Gimple who still to this day keeps the wheels in motion and decides who stays on, IN BOTH SHOWS. He was the one that allowed Norman Reedus to make a shit ton of money in a renewed contract, money they could have easily let Chandler Riggs have a piece of as well. Carl being the new lead alongside Daryl should Rick have left would have also made so much sense, as the audience could get behind Carl being the last Grimes son finally taking on the role of leader of Alexandria, being able to have that connection to Negan where he would not want him to be killed thus keeping that tension with Maggie and Hilltop at the beginning and him learning to become a great leader, eventually surpassing Rick. Even Michael Rooker and other fellow actors said it would be Carl to reach the end of the story and telling Judith all about what had happened during the early years of the zombie apocalypse, which is what ACTUALLY happened in the comics. It's such a missed opportunity than what we are currently getting on tv that it honestly hurts because despite Daryl and Carol being alive, i honestly dont even feel this is the same show anymore and purposefully miss episodes here and there.
Dont worry folks walking dead destiny's is coming and carl is in it all the way up to season 4 for all the characters that died to soon know u get to rewrite history so my team carl Daryl shane lorie so far
The time jump wouldn't of happened at all or would of been much less than 8 years . The only reason it was that long was to have Judith be older. It should of been at most 2 years. Carl wouldn't of been seen with the Judith we have now . She would be at most 5 years old if carl never died
I always thought Chandler wanted them to write him off to pursue other things, and couldve swore i saw him say that in a video, but if it was all the studio, and they just changed it on whim, thats sad af
I am pretty sure that it will be Judith if they choose to adapt the ending at all. Daryl will take Rick's place, and he will be the one to die before the timeskip. They are already planting the seeds by building up Judith and Daryl's relationship. Daryl is the closest thing Judith has to a parent right now.
I think this might be the most depressing, disturbing death in anything. I have to rewrite the ending in my head bc I can't take this ending. He became the most badass, bravest character. Hes smart and kind. He would've made a really good leader. Better than Rick I think. I think pretty much everyone liked Carl and would've respected him as a leader. And he could've had a family with Enid. He would've been great.
They fired him close to his birthday or on his birthday or something killing him made no sense then they just kill Henry and enid and before that Rick left the show honesty they should just end the show if none of our favorite people are on it they are probably gonna kill Maggie or Daryl next
I know everyone says it but what they did will forever mark the reputation of the show, killing off Carl was the stupidest writers decision ever. The walking dead lost it's plot and goal. It makes me sick watching season 8 when it reaches carls death. He was the one to lead them into the future once Rick was gone

J D Ehh it definitely was show killing. TWD season 7 premiere had like 40 million viewers. Know what it is now? 2.8 million 😅😂 These greedy assholes wanted to be cheap, look where it got them. No views = No money
@@ripvanwinkler1548 And for killing off Jesus, that was the major last straw for me that I don't watch it very often now. If the kill off Eugene now, I don't want anything to do with Walking Dead ever again.
@@ripvanwinkler1548 2.8 million is now views? Damn
Naaaaaaah after Glenn and Abraham got killed that’s when it went downhill....
I wish they didn’t kill him and he got to explore these other arcs
Ahh, love Chandler so much. Seems like a good kid. And of course miss Carl Grimes, they did him dirty for sure!!
They strayed so far away you can hear the sadness Scott fucked it up
Carl as the protagonist in a future would've been a great picture.
"He's the last main character standing"
Maggie, Micchone, Jesus, and Eugene: Are we jokes to you?
cartman1675 Sophia WHOS been there since issue 2.
cartman1675 Carl is og they are not
cartman1675 he meant the original main character from the first season
And negan
cartman1675 they are not the ogs. All of this characters you listed are new
Biggest mistake the walking dead ever made
Agree
Honestly, Carl got Gimpled, he was killed off for shock value and wouldn't be dead if Scott Gimple didn't want a mid season shocker
I think it was a mistake killing him off. Especially loosing Rick a year later. But I guess they don't follow the comics to avoid predictability.
The biggest mistake they ever made in the show was taking Carl out. Chandler would’ve still done phenomenal if they had taken Rick out & had him as a leader.
It would've been better too because rick could be relaxed knowing Carl would be the new leader and make things better for the community's
Angela Kang has done a great job with Seasons 9-10, but I'll forever be salty about Gimple's decision to kill Carl in Season 8. Would've been some amazing tv moments if Carl was still around and Morgan didn't get moved to Fear.
It makes me SO frickin’ happy to hear his voice! Thanks to the amazing powers that be @ SKYBOUND for such a great q&a. 👍
Thank you Chandler for great moments on the show, te amamos en México
Killing Carl was the worst decision made for The Walking Dead TV show. I mean the character was supposed to represent the future for life in this post-apocalyptic world. Carl eventually steps up to the role of leader when the massive zombie horde that the Whisperers brought to the communities was bearing down on them. He started giving commands to all of their soldiers and Lydia actually admired him and fell in love with him more after seeing that.
Scott Gimple should be crucified for his decision on killing Carl on the show.
Nothing its the same without him💔😭
Did him dirty kirkham should do a series of those 25 years in the comics
Still not over his death. He deserved more as that character and dumb Scott had to ruin it all.
Killing Carl was the worst mistake on the show. Keeping Carol was the best part of changing the comics
I loved this video and it makes me sad that the show didn’t live up to the comics
I always wanted carl and Sophia to grow up together and develop a relationship like their comic counterpart 💗💗😂
Love chandler
Still to this day I wish he got his comic book ending. At the very end of the show, a time skip, Carl is married, has a daughter just like the comics. He's such a badass. It would of been the best way to finish his story.
I’ve never been so angry at a TV show. Killing Carl has the dumbest and most angering thing I’ve ever seen
I wish that was the end but Daryl needs to be there too 🥺
Why does Daryl have to be there?
Black Rosè because he is my favorite character and that’s just my opinion and a lot of other people’s opinion so
He sound just like in the show
Matthew Hartenberger well yeah obviously
You all get a r/whoosh
Skrapii ok
So you want to say the Chandler is Carl? No f***ING way, holy sh*t man.
I'm sorry you were robbed of the role, Chandler.
"waIT whAt n0"
This is my favourite video from skybound now.
I personally didn't give a shit when they killed Carl I couldn't stand his character but I have to admit I would of loved to see how Carl and Judith interacted with each other and how carl protects her as an older brother and how she keeps him grounded and stops him going off the deep end
Pretty sure if Carl never dies in the show and is still alive now, the show would be 10x better rn
If they kept him alive they would have to recast him with an older actor because of the timejump like they did with henry. So I guess they didn't want that!
Wrong Kaveh
Everything happening in the show now would've been better with Carl. Simple as that.
U know fuck amc when they killed him off they killed me off as well I'm glad Daryl is not dead but killing him off is bullshit
"hm.... Gimple seems like a good man he'll do my comics justice" -Robert Kirkman
(a decade later)
"FUCK. SCOTT. GIMPLE." -literally every fan of the show
"what the fuck have I done...." -Robert Kirkman
"this is why the book is always better...." -me
I dont get why AMC treats its honest staff and actors like this.
TWD show has always killed off characters that weren’t supposed to be killed off or just for shock money. Examples: Andrea, Carl, Beth, etc. so pretty much I give up on the show because of this
Miss u Chandler Riggs in the walking dead I'm a big fan of u ou😭❤️
He makes me cry :(
CARLLLLLLLL! LOL!
It was sad when he died in the show!
He doesn't die in the comics and the way things are going for his character in the show he probably won't die
Stupid period
I think the reason that Carl died by a walker bite was because the survivors weren't worried about them at the time and thought they were not a threat so carl dying to a walker bite shows that walkers can kill anyone
I still thinks he should of died a different way though
i miss the old twd. it used to be so good. the comics are far better than what the show has been doing.
I miss him.
When they killed Carl off I quit watching the show.
The original plan was for Morgan to take Carl’s death, but AMC had money ideas.
Sad to think of so much that could have been, iconic moments in Season 9-10-11 with characters that should've been there..
I don't want TV Judith to get Carl's comic ending. She's not close to being worthy enough.
She like 8 and kills walkers easily she is pretty worthy.
@@jessec.6876 she is like MP7 in MW3. Overpowered.
I remember chandler said, about 4 years ago, that “he doesnt read the comics and doesnt like them” on talking dead lol
Well either he’s lying now/ started reading them after OR he was completely over the questions he was getting about them
Loved Chandler's story arc on A Million Little Things
Dont worry folks walking dead destiny's is coming and carl is in it all the way up to season 4 for all the characters that died to soon know u get to rewrite history so my team carl Daryl shane lorie so far
Mad trash game 😭
They should go back in time, delete Season 8 Episode 8 and up, and restart from there with Carl
The time jump wouldn't of happened at all or would of been much less than 8 years . The only reason it was that long was to have Judith be older. It should of been at most 2 years. Carl wouldn't of been seen with the Judith we have now . She would be at most 5 years old if carl never died
Chandler Should do a short film adaptation of the Walking Dead comic book ending when he's older
I’m still mad they killed off Carl 😤
COOORRRRAAALLLLLLLL!!!!!!
Nice voice Corl.
I always thought Chandler wanted them to write him off to pursue other things, and couldve swore i saw him say that in a video, but if it was all the studio, and they just changed it on whim, thats sad af
Daryl will get Carl's comic ending.
I miss Chandler portrayed Carl Grimes 😭
I think this might be the most depressing, disturbing death in anything. I have to rewrite the ending in my head bc I can't take this ending. He became the most badass, bravest character. Hes smart and kind. He would've made a really good leader. Better than Rick I think. I think pretty much everyone liked Carl and would've respected him as a leader. And he could've had a family with Enid. He would've been great.
I think the difference that it will take along time for Carl to be a big man as in the comics that why he got out.
Awwww💜💜💜💜 I miss Carrrl!!
gimple must have read the comics
They fired him close to his birthday or on his birthday or something killing him made no sense then they just kill Henry and enid and before that Rick left the show honesty they should just end the show if none of our favorite people are on it they are probably gonna kill Maggie or Daryl next
The show was good until season 7 that's where it all went to shit
The show went to death the day they made the decision to kill Carl
I know everyone says it but what they did will forever mark the reputation of the show, killing off Carl was the stupidest writers decision ever. The walking dead lost it's plot and goal. It makes me sick watching season 8 when it reaches carls death. He was the one to lead them into the future once Rick was gone
If carl became the main character after Andrew left i think more people would have stuck woth the show
CORAL!
I must the only one who didn’t mind carl being killed off lol, i lik that it didn’t follow the comic line because it makes things in the show unpredictable which is a good thing. Lot of ppl say the show died after but if were being honest even after carl AND rick have been gone, s9 and s10 have been two of the best seasons on the show🤷🏽♂️honestly excited to see what happens next
It's like :
Everyone: Carl must be the next generation survivor.
Amc: No you are wrong.
I can bet the shows ending will won't be as good as the comics
Comics ending was absolute shit
@@Black-ops-guy don't think it was shit, but wasn't good enough.
Honestly, if they reboot TWD into a gory, shocking, faithful adaptation of the comics it would fix alot of issues and have the characters do things that actors couldn't really do.
The whole age thing with child actors being a main point.
