I love that Brazil’s state birds are unique and diverse, just like its general wildlife and habitats. Unfortunately, as we’ve seen in the US video, the majority of the US states share birds with each other. Also, they are mostly common birds that are not specific to any state or habitat. I believe that a state bird should preferably be at least a few of the following to actually be a representative and meaningful state symbol:
A species that is endemic or near-endemic to its state or to a particular habitat centered around said state.
A species that has cultural significance to the residents of the state in some way.
A threatened species that needs extra conservation awareness.
In addition, the state-bird status of a species must be unique and not shared with other states, and there should be an overall diversity of birds from different orders and families.
I will post a list of my proposed state-bird changes at the US state birds video.

These are all fantastic points, Vernon! I also wish for the bird symbols to be more meaningful to each area. In a lot of states in the US they did things like "have students vote on a bird", which is a fun idea, but it resulted in a lot of state birds being the most average birds.
I'm pretty sure this comment is the outline of a pretty good video, and what you are proposing to do with going through all 50 states and identifying those with unique cultural and geographic significance is the outline of a video series. You are so generous with your knowledge, and you put way more work into your comments than most people! Thank you for learning on this channel!

I have always wanted to visit Brazil, and I am happy to see that the country celebrated its diversity by showing off a different species for each state! I love this series, looking forward to more!

Thank you, Harrison and Evan! I also want to go to Brazil someday. There are so many interesting stories to see. The Little Blue Macaw being reintroduced to its native range is the biggest one. Amazonian diversity and deforestation is another. Plus the unique cultural history. It's definitely a life-goal worthy destination. Thank you for watching!

Thank you Bharat! Brazil did a good job choosing its state birds. No repeats at all, and many different types. I would like to go to Brazil someday to see some of these birds. Thank you for watching!

Amazing birds and, apart from one, all new to me. Great video, appreciate the time you must have put into researching this and putting it all together.

Thank you, My Birding Year! Yes, these videos take time to put together, but it's a way for all of us to learn new things. It's a privilege to dig up information for motivated learners like yourself. The content of these videos also helps me at work, where people regularly ask questions like how feathers grow or how long an egg takes to form. Thank you for watching again this week!

Great to see all the wild birds chosen for state birds in Brazil. Cool to have seen a couple of these birds in Peru.

You did that?!? You saw every single Brazilian state bird? That is awesome, and I am very happy for you. There are 26 states, so that is a lot of birds. I want to do a video in the future of seeing every official bird in Canada, and there are only 13, and *that* seems daunting. It's so cool that you travel to different places and bring back information and great videos!
