Hi there, I'm a huge fan of KK's work. Could you please tell me what he uses for the rub he applies with his brush after the initial line work has been done? Thank you :)
Hi @darmakiel, I didn't im afraid. I've tried soaking ink into a sponge and using a dry brush to apply it but it doesn't quite achieve the same range of intensity as KK's.
Thanks for replying! Do you know what type of wood he uses? Or perhaps you could recommend something? I'm just using some random wood found in the park but it's not very soft.
Hey, no worries! In this video around 2:15 I think he says water jasmine is the type of wood he uses. I use anything around really and experiment. Twigs from outside, the end of old paint brushes, i've uses various wooden clay tools as well. Very nice filming - I love the B&W that reinforce the teacher's work. and your camera angles and transitions are really nice. could you elaborate on what is in the bottle that each one filled with Chinese ink? is it gaze? and for the other box is it a sponge and why? thank you and see you in Porto!

Hi! Thanks for your interest! The ink KK is using is the brand Saintograph but you can do that with any kind or China ink / India ink. 😊
