Petco is quite possibly the most wonderful gentle soul I’ve ever seen. He is just a genuinely nice person and I could watch him and listen to him for hours. ❤️
One of my favorite things about Dark Den videos is seeing the creatively made enclosures. Pretty sure those new enclosures are handmade from food storage containers, which is genius.
When that song came on at 12:30 it brought back old dark den vibes. Can’t believe I’ve been watching your videos for well over 5 years now & it’s great to think of all we have both accomplished in that time. You’re the best man, keep it up.
It’s really interesting watching these videos. As an arachnophobic person these really help to get me through my fear and appreciating these amazing animals.
I just want to say how much I enjoy your content! I'm not in the "industry", and I have grown a new appreciation for creepy crawlies :D Your enthusiasm is contagious
Started watching petko back from the couch days (before i started uni). Gonna have my last final exam on Sunday, crazy how time passes by. Keep it up man, and thanks for getting me through uni :D
You should visit Italy too and contact (for example) Gabriele Greco, maybe he'll let you visit his lab: he is a tarantula keeper but also an arachnologist and a researcher. He's a very knowledgeable guy
Petko! Love your videos, keep them coming! I received some shirts I ordered from you and the quality of the shirt and the print is amazing! So happy with the purchase…more substrate lol
Hi Petko loved the rehousings and of course the Super Bolty ones make you work a little bit 😂 😂 The new camera you have is brilliant, you can watch what he’s doing, anytime, anyplace, anywhere 💙💙
Please consider to use a bunch of ferns in the big paludarium! Ferns do excellently in high humidity low light environments and reward you with amazing growth (+ they are pretty hardy).
In the Bert beginning it sounds like you said “Taylor Swift Scorpion” and my first thought was “What an appropriate name for a scorpion” but then I was like Hey Wait a Minute!?!? He said tailless whip scorpion hahaha. Great video as always, I appreciate you Petko!
I think he usually does call them "Taylor Swift scorpions" now. It started when Google captioning captioned it that way a while back and it's kind of a recurring in-joke ever since. And you're in on it now! 😉
Can't wait to the moment the Whole Dark Den is just Glassed out. Must be looking Awesome 👌 BTW: thx for the 📷 Link I just needed something like this right now for my dog 🐕 🤟
Just a random side note Petko, took my beardie to the vet for a quick check up, apparently he was a bit dehydrated, she says 6-12ml water/day, looks like Desposito could use more water too? Salads every day, (normal) but only inverts at 2/week apparently 🤷♀️ we learn something new every day.
Idiothele mira is a typical subterranean species that digs its own tunnels. The way of masking and closing the burrow is very characteristic for this species. This spider weaves a lot of cobwebs inside the tunnel, and the entrance to it is secured by a flap typical for "Trapdors", to which it sticks the ground.
The skeleton tarantula, Ephebopus murinus, is a species of spider belonging to the family Theraphosidae, sub-family Aviculariinae. A New World species, it is native to several South American countries. Its common name is derived from the skeleton-like markings on its legs.
Sooooooo good! This was just what i needed after having to skip the feeding episode. p.s. Petko when your describing colours in common english. If you are describing inbetween two colours, you can just add a ''y'' to the end of the first colour to say that. i.e. it is a bluey grey, yellowy green, browny orange etc.
I would love to meet you at the expo in Orlando but I’ll be 9 months pregnant and I live in New York so I probably shouldn’t be traveling that far. Hopefully you’ll go again next year.
of all the tarantulas I have own and rehoused, Ephebopus murinus is the only one I have almost lost in a shelving unit cause of max bolts. they are wild.
Hi, im following your channel for short time, cuz got interested in scorpion and now im geting it. Question is, where u get those diferent size enclosures for animals?
Watching Petko's video's cured my spider phobia to some extent. 😅 So im thinking to buy my first spider in 2 months. Still a bit scared to keep a tarantula to be honest 😂 but i would consider buying a jumping spider because they are so tiny and cute. Could anybody recommend me what species i should get?
That's a great place to start! Be aware they don't live very long. Usually months if you get an adult. But I'd recommend anything in the Phidippus genus, pretty widely available. One of us, one of us...
Really? Only a few months? Kat has has most of hers for a couple of years. I suppose if they're wild caught there's no telling how old they are or how long they'll live, but their lifespan in general is typically 1-2 years, maybe longer, under the right conditions and care. Phiddipus Regius (Regal jumping) is one of the most common. Or the P. Audax (bold jumper). I'd honestly love a Regal, or a P. Johnsoni. Have you gotten one yet?? If so, how's it going?? Jumpers are so inquisitive and amongst the most intelligent. And definitely the cutest!
Commenting as im watching but if youre planning on getting rid of those red capped sling pots, i'd greatly appreciate them if you have nothing else for them. I plan to do a breeding project and those would come in handy.
what are the small containers, the smaller once with the square bottom and round top, what are they called and where to you get them? iv never been able to fint them but most breeder i get slings from uses them.
"The installation is super simple, you just screw it up!" advice for life.
The installation is very simple. You just screw it up xDD Made my day!
Hahahaha got me in an instant xD HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The Theraphosinae sp. Panama has been classified into the Davus genus. It is now Davus sp. Panama. Hopefully it will be fully classified soon.
"The installation is super simple - you just screw it up."
Yup, that sounds about right, had I tried it.
Petco is quite possibly the most wonderful gentle soul I’ve ever seen. He is just a genuinely nice person and I could watch him and listen to him for hours. ❤️
Petko*
I agree petko is really lovely 🩵
We enjoy the bolts because of how you freak out XD Bonus points if you say "it's not that bolty" right before the _ZOOM_
One of my favorite things about Dark Den videos is seeing the creatively made enclosures. Pretty sure those new enclosures are handmade from food storage containers, which is genius.

Brilliant, I love their unpredictability, another reason why they are so fascinating.... thanks for your uploads, so informative and fun.... 👏
"they're"

That was lots of fun to watch! I am glad everyone got into their new enclosures! I wish i could come see you in Florida..
You should visit Italy too and contact (for example) Gabriele Greco, maybe he'll let you visit his lab: he is a tarantula keeper but also an arachnologist and a researcher. He's a very knowledgeable guy
15:00 OMFG THIS IS SOOOOOO CUUUUUUTTTEEEE
Good morning from Australia. So happy to watch another video from the Dark Den. Tuesday is my favorite day of the week for this reason.
Petko! Love your videos, keep them coming!
I received some shirts I ordered from you and the quality of the shirt and the print is amazing! So happy with the purchase…more substrate lol
I got a couple of their temp/humidity monitors. One inside, one out on the deck! They're great!
This one was fun for a change again, just love it when they bolt. The Dark Den brought me here... Again!!!
Have fun in Florida! If you haven’t visited the gulf side and have a chance to see it, definitely see it! Beautiful beaches!
This was fabulous to watch. I only had a few to deal with at a time, but yeah every once in a while... they can be faster than they seem...
I was just watching some of your first videos and i got a notification😂
The classic rehousing music makes me happy.
I'm so excited that you're coming to the states!!! And to Orlando which isn't too far from where I live! Would love the chance to get to meet you!
Hi Petko loved the rehousings and of course the Super Bolty ones make you work a little bit 😂 😂

Nice rehousing 😎 I got my first OBT today - 1cm small sling and it bolted everywhere but where it was supposed to go. I’m still sweating 🤣

Another great video, I'd love to know how many years I've been subscribed to you. You're one of a kind Dark Den!
Nice plants in the megaterrarium!!! Its going to be epic!!!!! Nice video as always...
I think your tarantulas take turns being bolty and discuss it amongst themselves just to mess with you. 😂
Because of you I started loving Mondays . 🕷🕸🌝
Great rehouse video.
I'm in class with food so I'm ready to watch this npw
I love brian barczyks hes amazing and I love his channel
Hey Petko, do you think you could a video about your most colourful and shiny tarantulas?
Idiothele mira is a typical subterranean species that digs its own tunnels. The way of masking and closing the burrow is very characteristic for this species. This spider weaves a lot of cobwebs inside the tunnel, and the entrance to it is secured by a flap typical for "Trapdors", to which it sticks the ground.
Theraphosidae sp. Panama: It would be best if you ask the people who have them directly - it would be faster.
Aphonopelma crinirufum: Lifestyle: TERRESTIAL
Habitat: SEMI DESERT
Temp.: 25-27*C
Humidity: 60-70%
Communal: NO
Experience level: BEGINNER
Harpactira tigrina

Sericopelma generalum is one of the largest spiders. It grows up to 8 cm of the body.
The pollbarium is looking good back there PATCO
If you come in to Orlando a week early the NARBC show is happening in Daytona Beach
Very cool video, I like your tailess whip scorpion! 😎
YEY...something good to watch...Ha Ha !!
Sooooooo good! This was just what i needed after having to skip the feeding episode.

I'd go with "ish", like blueish or brownish rather than "y". IMHO
You are making me like Mondays again! Red Alert! Red Alert!! Great video Petko! 😁🕷️🕸️😂
I would love to meet you at the expo in Orlando but I’ll be 9 months pregnant and I live in New York so I probably shouldn’t be traveling that far. Hopefully you’ll go again next year.

Bolt videos are the best!
another great show.
Greetings from Germany! The little Taylor Swift scorpion: 😍. And I am very curious about the huge new build; it already looks cool.
“Tarantula found gap! Not good” lol

Have you gotten one yet?? If so, how's it going?? Jumpers are so inquisitive and amongst the most intelligent. And definitely the cutest!
I want an update on the aquarium when you can get it in a video
you should post tarantula shorts on your second channel
Isn't Brian Barczyk that breeder/keeper who neglected his animals to the point of their death and stressed some of them out for entertainment?
I want you to come to the uk 😩i love your videos
Im a fan since ur first vlog 😃😊
Lol. More bolty than Zoë, the Sahydroaraneus raja!
It's always the one's you least expect
5:24 🤣
One of your best Petco. Good luck in August you we I’ll liken Fprida
The Last rehoused T Had a bigger dls than the enclosure this IS animal abuse it IS not even able to Walk three steps forward
Commenting as im watching but if youre planning on getting rid of those red capped sling pots, i'd greatly appreciate them if you have nothing else for them. I plan to do a breeding project and those would come in handy.
Is it only me looking in the background and seeing the progress while waiting for the big paludarium build.
Spiders are like octopuses; If there's a gap, they will find it. Must be something do do with having eight limbs.
My Aphonopelma crinirufum is the same. They are so bolty for Aphonopelmas ^^"
Yay! I love this channel! 🕸🕷🦀🦂❤👍
I wondered why I didnt got myself an E. murinus as I saw the green and really liked it, guess I did my research correct back then
DARK DEN TIME 🤘👍🤘👍🤘
Nice alocasia and Monstera in the back
what are the small containers, the smaller once with the square bottom and round top, what are they called and where to you get them? iv never been able to fint them but most breeder i get slings from uses them.
