Don’t ever think your videos are monotonous or boring! They are informative and inspiring and, for me, more relatable than some others because of your location. I would love to see your sweet pea seed starting, planting, and hardening off. Also, I would love to know if you replace them when they start to fade in late summer. Is there something else you plant in their place? 🌱💚

Yes, please do a video on sweet peas 😊! I'd also love to see a video on sowing delphiniums as I've tried to sow them many times from bought as well as self grown seeds but have never managed to get them germinate despite keeping them for a period of time in the fridge or outdoors both in soil as well as in wet paper. They just won't germinate no matter what I do.

Last year I started them in the “root trainer trays” and they made it so easy to get them out of the trays. I never knew about pinching them back until lately. Hi Danielle, I adore your videos, your authentic style and your clear delivery of information. I've been devouring your videos, both recent and older for as much information as I can as I start my very first cut flower raised bed for personal use.
I would love to see a video about maximizing output for really tiny spaces. I have a 4x4 ft raised bed to work with, as well as some limited space in a very small landscape garden and my enthusiasm is quickly outpacing my available space.

Hi Danielle, Thank you so much for all your knowledge! I just got the book Cool Flowers...I'm about 20 pages in, right after reading about Lisa's shed "The Inn." Loving it and enjoying learning about these cold hardy annuals. We are going into my second actual real year to be gardening. In past years, I have mostly done container plants at rental houses, but now I am working on my garden at our house that we purchased. The biggest help to me is learning what to direct sow vs. grow indoors and see the seedlings in all stages up to moving outside (potting up and such). So this video today was super helpful. I thought it was great that you mentioned using Lisa's book as your first source on how to plant, but if a plant is not listed you will look up on Johnny's or another site. I'm just learning so much and I don't know how to thank you! So excited to see your humming bird lane project! I have over 100 black jack oaks on my property here in Weatherford, Texas, garden zone 7b...maybe zone 8 with this mild winter we have had. Looking forward to learning more and more from you! OH! Also, I am planting a wildflower meadow in one part of my property this year...Loved seeing that you are doing this too. Also, I watched the video that you spoke about from Growing a Greener World. So neat! HIGH FIVE! Be blessed sweet lady!

I collect seeds from a plant Rose Campion that my mother gave me 30 years ago. These flowers are very precious to me. My mother passed from dementia in 2021. I generally just scatter them on the ground every fall. The germination was never really good. This year since I’m doing my first ever growing seeds under lights. I decided to try sprouting the Rose Campion in seed starter. It’s amazing every seed germinated and are now under the lights.
Since being new to growing seeds under lights. I’ve mistakenly put to many seeds in some of the cups.
    When can seedlings be thinned?

Scabiosa Starball is one of the only varieties I've grown every year since I started flower farming. I don't find much demand amongst florists for the seed heads, since the market became flooded with them very quickly...but the flower is very popular for weddings! They are the prettiest pale blue - I just wish they wouldn't bolt to seed so fast!!

  • @sharoncalatayud8658
    @sharoncalatayud8658 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Your videos are terrific! I’ve enjoyed so many of them. This one was great and super helpful since I just started both of these last week and I didn’t sow my scabiosa with any soil on top just made the depression like you did. Unfortunately they started germinating and some of the seed coats got stuck around the sprouts and hardened that way. They need a bit of moist soil on top to break open the little badminton thingys 😁. I also struggled with feverfew germinating. One that I especially have not been successful at is statice, which everyone claims is easy but I only get about 50% or less germinating. I use the soil blocking method.

Even if it is the same method as another type of seed you’ve shown, it’s still helpful to get confirmation for a specific seed. Phacelia, yarrow, honesty are new ones I’m growing by seed this year. I was unsuccessful last year growing any larkspur and verbena bonariensis but an trying again this year. Those are some seeds I’d be interested in seeing a seeding video. Thank you.

Have you tried Winter Sowing? I Winter Sowed my fever few last year in January from seed and they grew amazing. Bushy, abundant flowers, about 2 ft tall.
Now in October I'm learning about their medicinal values and how to make teas for my arthritis pain. I hear you're supposed to trim back to a few inches in height in the late fall. I think that's what you showed in the snow.
I'm in zone 5a, SE Idaho.

I'm growing the tetra white feverfew this year, too! I have high hopes for it. I started some of them in the fall, and I'm also starting some indoors now. Do you ever grow pansies from seed? I tried growing them for the first time in the fall and had pretty good success, but I would like to use them as cut flowers, and the fall planted pansy stems aren't long enough. If you have any information to share about them, I would appreciate it. I also agree that learning more about sweet peas would be so nice!

I understand the concept of hardening off plants in warm weather. But, hardening of plants in cool weather ? I'm not sure about. Could you maybe do a video on hardening off cool weather flowers?

Danelle, have you ever sown Lunaria directly? This is going to be my second season trying to sow these seeds. They didn't take hold last year, not sure why? So I'm asking around to see if anyone has experience growing it. I'm in 6b zone as well.

Another great informative video. Danielle, I really like the all-white feverfew you grow in your garden (not so much the ones with yellow centers). Do you know the variety name of the one you grow?

Love your channel! What is the purpose of bottom watering when first sowing the seeds? Does it reach the seeds?
