    Just ordered your planting calander. I AM SO EXCITED! I have always had a black thumb ... in fact: I come from generations of black thumbs! BUT I have so many plants growing right now! Because of you! Thank you a million times! I am so glad I am finally able to support you a little... as you have supported me over the last couple years with your no nonsence videos and encouragement in this harsh and beautiful climate.
    Thank you , blessing s and peace.

    Love this! I saw these growing wild in Missouri last summer but couldn’t identify. Will plant in Texas. They’re so pretty! Thank you❣️

    Loved this video Angela! Instructional cutting is so helpful! My plants have gotten a bit wild 🙃 I see I have some tidying up of my Black Knight Scabiosa. It’s been a long wait for blooms & so worth the wait! I will be adding additional colors this fall! Fantastic blog as well! Thank you!

      Yes, in your zone it can be. The ones for cut flowers are usually annual varieties and differ from the perennial ones.

    Thank you! Looking forward to trying these! For verbena- how and when should seeds be harvested and saved?

      Let the flower die back and seed pods develop, wait to harvest until the seeds turn black inside the pods.

    Beautiful flowers! Do they do well in containers also?

      @GrowingInTheGarden  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. I've grown them in small and large containers. They do well in both, but last longer into the summer in the larger containers.

    Hello from a fellow MG in North Carolina . Angela, my question: Where did you get the growing reference guide you were using in the video. That would be a great guide for using with beginner gardeners, and I loved the top flip pages.

    thanks for sharing your knowledge. I live also in AZ and I wanted to know when is the best time to water the plants during this time of the year? I have bougainvilles and start jasmines and all of them are in planters, any tips?

    • @GrowingInTheGarden
      @GrowingInTheGarden  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally I like to water in the morning and make sure plants are hydrated for the day.

    What are you thoughts on water storing crystals? Miracle grow has a brand that has AMAZING reviews. I live in a very hot climate but am uneasy about adding things to my soil. The brand Terraloch is cellulose based. I just worry about what is left in the soil because I think they only last about 3 years.

    • @GrowingInTheGarden
      @GrowingInTheGarden  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I wouldn't add those. You could add things like vermiculite or perlite instead.

    Hi, Angela. I noticed you have wood chips in your garden. Do you recommend using them as mulch? Some TH-camrs discourage their use, claiming they rob your plants of nitrogen. Is this true in your opinion? I have some in my raised beds and don’t know where I could find hay/straw which they prefer. I live in the El Paso, TX area.

    • @GrowingInTheGarden
      @GrowingInTheGarden  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't mix them into my soil - they are on the top layer as mulch. Nitrogen loss is minimal - you could look for straw at someplace like Tractor supply or a feed store

    Are they a perennial if we don’t get down to 10 degrees? Or do I need to start them every year?

      Most varieties for cut flowers are annuals. There are perennial types you can grow as well.

      @@GrowingInTheGarden if you would please I have a question. Is it possible for me to propagate this ranunculus that I have put in the ground about a week ago? I think I did the planting wrong I know I did soak it properly but I don't know if that's something we can have here. Thank you so much..
