DCS F-14B Tutorial 3 - Carrier Takeoff

Today I demonstrate how to launch the Tomcat from a carrier now that you have it started up.

Great video! Im excited to jump into this jet and start pushing buttons. Bought the module at work and waiting to go home and fire up the sim. I have been flying the hornet for months now with almost every flight being launched from the super carrier. I noted that the Yellow shirt marshaller only waves his arms when I approach him with my wings folded. Otherwise he just begins guiding me in with no "wings out" gesture. I am going out on a limb and saying that he isnt saying "look at me" but "spread your wings!". Good stuff! Keep them coming!

Left clearing turn from cat 1?

I believe Cat 1 & 2 use a 20 degree right clearing turn and Cat 3 & 4 use a left clearing turn.

Aha, most likely I messed that one up.

@@deephack Correct, although you only really need 10 degrees. A left turn off of CAT 1/2, or right turn off of CAT 3/4 would result in the Captain yelling at you "DON'T CROSS MY BOW!", and you would get to visit the bridge when you got back. Other than that, great video series for a classic fighter.

How do you give the Salute?

You can set a key for it in controls or you can just open the radio menu and you will find it under "ground crew".
