The charge is causing loss to the state, if the source of the loss offers to pay the money back what is the purpose of the case continuing and incurring further costs? Just asking, am a layman!
Sometimes, simply returning the money isn’t enough. There must be repercussions to serve as deterrent to others who would engage in deliberate acts to rip the state off. Apart from the actual contract sum, time was lost, state resources would have been wasted if proven. That is not to say either accused persons are guilty.
The AGs agenda, per my observations of the recording, is clearly to derail the NDC from having a fruitful campaign, by getting a guilty verdict to establish corruption under the erstwhile Mahama regime. That would be politically rewarding to the NPP. However, his desperation was always going to spell doom for his case, as he was bound to make mistakes such as is established in the video. I feel sorry for the AG, but the only honorable thing to do, if he has any values, is to resign.

It is so simple and happens all the time in the real world. In this case one didn’t see it fit to contact the supplier to complain and ask for the money back. Instead the one signing an LC is being persecuted in court and when the suppliers heard they offered to refund your money. But the offer was rejected and one chose to continue with the persecution of a political opponent who signed the LC for goods ordered by Ministry of Health! What is the logic in this which is going to deter anyone? Am sure a new govt will deal appropriately with all the people who have caused and are still causing real losses to the country. Ofori Atta-collapse of banks and taking Ghana to the international bond market and losses associated with them; Akufo Addo’s cathedral hole and associated losses; PDS scandal and associated loss; Health minister, Manu’s covid-19 vaccines and associated loss; Road Minister, Amoako Atta’s unilateral Road Tolls cancellation and losses associated; etc etc, these are real losses with no one offering any refund to the state!
What about Agyeman gyeman manu scandals for Covid 19 vaccine ?
It beats my imagination why the NPP is fighting to sandwich itself into this case. I suggest the AG has spokespersons who are capable of responding to the NDC. This case should not become a fight between the NDC and the NPP. Period!!!

We were to receive 200 ambulances in 4 trenches, 50 per each LC, the LC as a security for the manufactures to provide the ambulances before payment been made, out of first 50, 30 was provided which wasnt fit for purpose therefore we werent supposed to pay yet we paid 25% of the total sum. To a layman buying anything if you purchase a fresh tomatoes online it comes out and it's a rotten one would you pay for it ?
