I felt this also as a small TH-camr as well, I realized that comparison is the thief of joy so I’m tying not to compare my growth and someone else’s. But as small content creators let’s not give up this is our year as small TH-camrs ❤
I got goosebumps when you started talking about the new TH-cam era. ✨I just started posting more on TH-cam and I’m claiming this to be my time to elevate on this platform. ✨ I def still enjoy long form content.
What's happening is the money is not enough for these top creators. It's like people in the music industry, their first two albums are FIRE, so much emotion and passion and pain. Then after the millions, tours, and fame they blame the music industry for their mental health or being burnt out. It's like no no no you just let the money get to your head and you're out of ideas.

✨New subbie here & I think it’s only natural that creators retire lol and work on TH-cam PRN (as needed) I think having a huge audience is stressful and it comes with it’s own mindset challenges. I agree with you, the creators might scale back but the consumers will move onto consuming new content✨

I agree. It sucks because I hear some big creators that I also follow suggesting we hop on short form. And I know thats not the best advice to give especially if you are trying to build a community around your brand. You are targeting an audience of people who are in a completely different head space when you create short form content. I have heard the other side of how short form content is negatively affecting creators and their platforms. So I am not hopping on that train lol
You’re exactly right about TikTok! 😊 I have a core few people who interact with me there, but I know as soon as somebody swipes past a couple of my videos then TikTok won’t show them my content as much 😅 I also don’t do content for virality, so I think TH-cam does a better job showing my videos to people who are already interested in the topic. I've subbed to your channel as I know it's hard! But keep going! I've just started (again) on TH-cam as an older TH-camr. There are plenty of us out there, believe! It's just we're not getting thrown up in the algorithm as much. The more of us that make videos, the more chance we get seen.
You're welcome girly! I encourage you to stick it out and don't worry about the metrics at the beginning stages. The age part doesn't matter because there is an audience here for every age group. Your people will find you and because of your age they will relate to you so much more.

This was so good! Glad I found you here. Question for you: do you think sharing an audio only podcast is a good way to grow my audience? I started my TH-cam channel- imperfectwellnesswithdijha- last year. I loved it, but found it difficult to maintain by myself, since I do content creation and coaching on top of a full-time job. I’ve been seriously thinking about switching to an audio on my format as the editing will be much simpler and quicker.
Great question. My fiance put his audio only podcast here on TH-cam and it has started to grow because TH-cam Music and TH-cam is pushing his podcast to new listeners. So I would say YES!! Add your RSS feed here by clicking the "Start a podcast" option on TH-cam. I hope that makes sense.
I personally use Buzzsprout as my hosting platform. That puts me on Spotify, Apple, Google, etc. For TH-cam, you just upload your RSS Feed link and it will sync with your hosting platform so that you only have to post in one place.
I'm a new vlogger and I just want to say post with the intent of working on your craft... the views can be hard to handle but look at it as a growing phase. Don't stop being consistent.

Just use the time to hone your skills like @DeniiMas said. I'm using this time to get better at editing, thumbnails, keywords...that sort of thing. To date, my video with the most views was a quick video I shot in my car, chatting about a specific jpop/kpop group I really liked! So many of their fans appreciated my words of support! Keep going and keep a keen eye on the videos that do do better than others and maybe start expanding on those more??
I encourage you not to worry about the metrics at the beginning stages. Focus on building out your library of content so that people will want to stay on your TH-cam channel and consume your content. As they watch more of your videos, they will stick around and thats when you will see your metrics starting to look better. I hope this helps! 😊
Absolutely! It's more about establishing your brand and growing a community when it comes to TH-cam. Once you have those 2 elements it's easier to bring in consistent revenue from your brand and business and anything you make directly from the TH-cam platform becomes a bonus!

Yes but eventually try to create 10 min+ Videos. TH-cam requires the video be at least 8 minutes for monetization

There are been quite a few bigger creators leaving TH-cam. I have seen their videos popping up on my home feed for quite some time.
