    If you are in the academe, yes it is necessary. And you need to take an MS degree that is vertically aligned with your undergrad course if you want your degree to be significant (e.g kung undergrad mo is Biology, dapat ang MS mo is also of the same discipline). And yes, do not enroll for the wrong reasons. Pinag iisipan po ng mabuti ang pag enroll sa post-graduate studies.

    Thanks for sharing your insights. I've been stressed out for the past 4 weeks thinking about taking up MBA while I have a day job. I am scared because I've been working for 14 years now and have not been to school since college. However, I feel like I've been stuck in the corporate environment for too long now. I want to explore more opportunities outside and want to be more equipped with my Management and Leadership skills.

      I also fet the same. I hit a plateau. Or perhaps it's just mid-life crisis. But eventually by the grace of God, I got through it. Now I'm doing career coaching on the side, as a way of paying it forward.

Should I resign immediately since it's been 6 years since I started working right after graduation? Hoping for your advise. Thanks.

    I'm taking my second Master's, MBA first 2022 and MScITHM in PUP currently 2023, and I can agree to this one but to add more point, Grad School is a personal journey with yourself. It's you and you alone late ang gratification :) But remember having a master's is having a master. Madami kang madedescover. But warning, you should have equipped with the right mentality first before entering in GS.
    Maraming mangengeeleam sa desisyon mo pero, you and you alone lang makakaalam kung ano ang dapat. Kaya enroll monayan! Yes, it's for fun HAHA

    I am enrolled in an MA degree program because I have plans to teach in high school or as a part-time college instructor. Colleges/universities hire mostly MA graduates even part-timer ka.
    It is true that taking an MA would be beneficial if you are planning to enter in the academe. Optional lang ang pag-take ng MA degree if your job/industry doesn't require to do so. Some industries give more weight in work experience.

    I am currently taking professional science masters in data science sa TIP. Im a slow learner kaya I decided to take it kesa mag online course like what coursera offered. Pero as a Libra, nagdadalawang isip pa rin ako if I need to finish this or mag coursera na lang ako kasi nga sobrang magastos mag masters :(
    Recommended bang mag-take na lang ng Google Certificates related to business intelligence and data science?
    Ang hirap!
    Pero ang alam ko bored lang talaga ako kaya ako nag-masters. Haha joke!
    Help me. Thansk!

    • @osheanlee
      @osheanlee  ปีที่แล้ว

      My advice always is that if pag nasimulan na, tapusin na. Kasi sayang. Or kung kaya mo pagsabayin yung master's mo + Google Certificates, better since the knowledge that these 2 impose can complement with each other. i.e. kung ano natutunan mo sa Google Cert Courses, ma-aapply mo sa master's mo and vice versa.

    • @joshguzman
      @joshguzman ปีที่แล้ว

      @@osheanlee thanks sir sa reply. Actually, more of a data engineering pala yung gusto ko sabihin. I think, sakop ng lahat ang data science while ang data engineer, focus sa data cleaning and data gathering? weakness ko talaga mag interpret kesa magprovide na lang ng iinterpret nila.
      Yun din ang reason kaya parang nagdadalawang isip rin po ako tapusin tong masteral. Like, do i need to focus na lang ba sa data engineering? Ang problem, part ito ng data science kaya yun ang tinake ko, if courses naman, parang google/ibm cert ang pinakamalapit na way? Kaso dami kong nakikitang parang sayang sa pera lang raw ang ang mga certificates na ito.
      Ang hirap maging mahirap, ayaw ko lang talaga magtapon ng pera. Haha

    • @osheanlee
      @osheanlee  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joshguzman I don't think hindi naman sayang ang pera sa mga certificates, especially sa Google.
      Siguro to dispel na lang the misconception -- yes Data Science encompasses everything. Even Data Engineering. Data Science exists already even before. It just became a buzzword when people started processing terabytes of data already, and that traditional/conventional processing does not work anymore sa sobrang laki ng data; hence the term big data.
      If gusto mo i-try mag-data engineering, try this: facebook.com/groups/1225639754738756/?multi_permalinks=1261872601115471&ref=share

      doctor:
      a teacher, from Middle English (in the senses “learned person” and “Doctor of the Church”): via Old French, from the Latin “doctor” (“teacher”), from “docere” (“teach”).
      Throughout the modern world, tertiary education institutions have been given the right to confer Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees by the government of their respective countries. This is a fundamentally-flawed arrangement for the following reasons:
      As has been proven beyond any semblance of doubt in Chapter 22 of this “A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity”, non-monarchical governments have absolutely no authority whatsoever over the populace of their countries or nations. And even if a nation was ruled by a LEGITIMATE government (that is, a holy and righteous king), it is not within the purview of a national ruler to adjudicate which educational institutions are qualified to confer scholastic awards to its citizens. The role of a national ruler is (above all) to protect the population and to ensure that the law (“dharma”, in Sanskrit) is enforced and promulgated. Furthermore, universities and colleges (especially in the Western world) have been increasingly promoting what is colloquially known as “leftism” (“adharma”, in Sanskrit), as well as bestowing post-graduate degrees upon those who would never have been able to even enter a university in previous centuries (not to mention a certain proportion of abject dunces, simply due to the fact that life in the West is relatively easy, and those dullards are able to spend several years of their lives in study, without needing to work for their livelihoods).
      Personally, I am extremely glad to not be counted amongst those imbeciles who have garnered a master's degree or a doctorate at a government-endorsed institute of “education”. As the current World Doctor Himself, I have witnessed that the calibre of the typical doctoral candidate is nowadays so appalling, that I would be loath to be the recipient of a PhD degree from any extant so-called “university/college”. Honestly, I would consider it to be a great DISHONOUR! Even the so-called “hard sciences”, such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, and engineering, have become increasingly adulterated by adharma. For example, in Western academia (and by the time you are reading this Scripture, most all the schools of higher-learning in the East too) it is, in practice, impossible for an academic to assert the scientific fact that intelligence has a biological (that is, a genetic) component, and even if one was permitted to posit such a truism, it would be frowned upon to stress the fact that a person’s genome is the predominating factor in determining one’s intellectual capacity (not to mention bringing racial differences into the picture!). See also “philosophy”.

      Yung boss ng anak ko ay Registered Medtech tapos nagmedicine at naging doctor, kumuha ng nursing course dahil gusto mag abroad specially sa US. Naging Registered nurse siya at naging US Registered nurse na din. Kaya lang di niya nagamit ang pagiging registered nurse niya. However, dahil sa bigat ng mga titles niya, experiences as medtech and doctor, tapos nag MBA pa siya, Di nagtagal nag apply na sya sa isang malaking Government Hospital (National Funded) from working as a Medical Director ng kanilang owned private hospital. Paglipat niya, mataas na agad ang naging position niya sa Govt. Hospital. After a few years, naging Assistant Chief of Hopital na siya and when the current Chief of Hospital retires soon, siya na ang papalit sa position. Kaya naman, hindi nasayang ang lahat ng mga pinag aralan niya at yung mga kaakibat nitong titles.

      @@math3000 @Addicted2Food hehe i think this was taken out of context. Of course, people are free to do so. But what I am saying that irks me are those people that I know of who use these titles in irrelevant or non-professional events. Worse is, they cannot prove those titles in actual work - AMPAO. Sure we have differences and I know that. I don't like it, they want it. Some want to flaunt it, some do not.
      Then again, not liking it may not necessarily mean walang narating sa buhay. Again, differences.
