I tried all this years ago and they helped a little but what I found solves the problems completely and allows me to run ultra graphic is to limit the game threads to 2. This game is not optimized for multi threading and came out when computers only had a few threads.
@@kylechellette3066 You do this by Launching ATS first. Then open your task manager. At the top select details. Find the amtrucks.exe file in the details list. If you right click you will get a lot of options for running the program. To set the threads select affinity. It will show a list of CPU's starting with 0. Each CPU is a thread so you can deselect all the CPU's except either 2 or 4 of them. It does not matter which ones you select. I'm currently using CPU1 - CPU4 . Either two or 4 Threads seems to be the sweet spot for ATS. Unfortunately you have to do this every time you run the program unless you use a separate piece of software to handle this.
Thanks for the update! I was using your old video as a guide religiously! Your tips make my old 1060 work hard, but makes the game look great!! It needs to sweat a little sometimes, right? Keep it up with those great mods, too!
If your Windows, GPU or Nvidia just updated Also even if ets2 just updated Or you just change any component to your PC , including monitor If rapid Flicker happen just simple graphic to ultra Then check all the setting again From in game setting to Nvidia and the config edit
Thank you so much for the great video. Would you also be able to go over your Force Feedback settings? I have Fanatec Podium DD2 and have not been able to dial in the most realistic settings. I have had a problem with the game's force feedback system. Basically, there is a slight deadzone in the force feedback, between 0 and 5 degrees in the wheel turn, where the wheel is loose, though the steering does work. This looseness in the center feels very unrealistic and causes the wheel to wobble left and right with any bumps or trailer/truck instability.
Great tips! Running ATS on an HP Victus, upgraded to 32gb of ddr4 RAM, connected to a 2560x1440\144hz LG Ultragear 27” gaming monitor. Everything looks SO much better after these adjustments (minus the control panel ones, unless I missed something) because my laptop uses AMD graphics vs NVIDIA), gets rid of the stutters and lag spikes pretty much 100%, and looks SO much better graphically on 200% scaling, and following your suggestions in advanced graphic settings as well. A huge thank you, Dom!!
download the new TAA mod from snowymoon it replaces the bad smaa in game, there's no need to use the NVidia control panel to force msaa and fxaa, has virtual to no performance impact unlike the antialiasing options shown in the video and it completely fixes the flickering and shimmering present in game which the video doesn't fully do
I am playing in 2k On a 4090 GPU pc. Do you recommend 200 scaling instead of 100 because of the 2k? Thanks for the info in this video and I love your 379 by the way. My monitor is a 49" 5120x1440.
Its working when i have tripple 27" 1920/1080 , GTX 3060, 32GB ram, i9 8700 ? When must change some parameters could you tell me which? Ty for all answer :)
Dom you sir made my computer run like a fucking supercomputer! I could go back to playing in 4K now! Crazy how the game looks just as good if not better with higher fps than when I was using just ats graphics settings! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
This was very helpful, I reduce the stutter and lag frames and improved the picture graphics, I have an AMD GPU but there's similarities with some of the setting. Again, thanks for the help!
Now I have 30-40 more gps but much worse graphics. So bad that I need to change back everything as before. Still lags also and seems to be worse also. This game turn me crazy. I have a 5000€ super gamer PC made by myself and a 4k monitor but this game looks like a shit. I've tried thousand of settings and mods and nothing. Max 100 fps out, 50 inside the cab. Now I have 140 out and 80 inside but the view is absolute garbage. I have to reset everything. This is the worst setting I've tried so far!
im just gonna say if you have a 5k euro pc and cant get above 80fps inside the cabin you pc is shit and prolly bottlenecked, i have a xeon e3-1270 v2 and a 1050ti the cpu is from 2012 and the gpu 2016 running 16gb 1600mhz ddr3 ram and i get over 100fps inside the cabin at 4K Native with the new TAA mod by snowymoon which improves antialiasing at no performance loss and completely fixes the flickering with the in-game anti aliasing, if you need any help let me know, i can help you with settings and whatnot to improve your fps
@@chippyyyy Hi there! I've watched all the videos I could find, read a tone of forums but so far I have no solution! I don't know what to do. Any help would be great but after I tried so many configurations I don't know what to think.
Great video. My game doesn't stutter, and I don't have any frame drops anymore. Thanks to this video, this still works in version 1.52, guys!

Very Curious on how you did this where do you go to set the threads to 2?
I've got an Intel cpu and nividia gpu thanks.

@@jmcnear6688 Wow, thanks for pointing this out. I had a lot of stutters in VR. Running super smooth now using only CPU 1 and 2 . ☺
Wow that's so weird how my game looks this good now with performance still, thanks!

Thank you bud just like the like the title states more frames and better graphics.
Thanks Dom for the great tips!
idk how to stop the random flickering
Thanks for this video. What are you pc specs?
Thanks for the help Dom. 👍🏻👍🏻
How do I get that control panel thing I don’t have it on my pc
Does that link still works ?
If your Windows, GPU or Nvidia just updated

Or you just change any component to your PC , including monitor
If rapid Flicker happen just simple graphic to ultra

From in game setting to Nvidia and the config edit
400% scaling and ultra smaa even though Nvidia AA on work for me
Without it i need snowyio TAA

@@domsdieselchrome5163 thank you, I can’t wait!
im on AMD so I think I can still do the same thing but also do the amount of mods have a big affect as well

thank you for the video, i have 10 year old pc and now it runs smooths, looks great also !
Careful with the 1.50 update - suggested settings in this video gave me stuttering and blurred text.
Are the changes in this video still giving v1.50 issues?
@@mikecoster2709 yes.
even after doing this my game still lags a lot, i have an rtx 4060. i don't understand why. it's especially when i make a turn
maybe u r running on the integrated gpu
As of 1.50 mm_max_resource_size is no longer a valid command line.
Hey, thanks a lot for this amazing video my game is looking great. Still pulling 220 fps - 230 fps. You got my sub keep the tips coming! 💪💪💪
Are these settings still good to go for v1.50?
freakin awesome man.
Hay bro I can't find the buffer settings in my truck simulator
My PC has a AMD Radeon GPU so I cant use the nvidia control panel. Does anyone know a work around to this?
This still work since the game update?
Hey Dom, would these settings still be effective if am using JBX Graphics mod?
Finally stable 60 fps even more
The graphic just feels like i just uograded my pc
Crashed my truck Twice at same place , too busy in aww
Would an rtx 2060 run all this fine?
does this still workin?
Will this work for AMD Radeon cards , and I run at 1440 , will all these settings still work with what I have ? Thanks for the video
this did nothing. its still flickering in the distance cables, fences, not even other trucks. these settings made it worse.
Same
Big shit! Now I don't know how to go back to previous setting when everything was much better.

I got 16 gb ram can i use same text pool size??
Set mm pool size to 8192....mm pool size should be half of your ram memory...and you have 16 gb ram
You know I can run ATS on ultra with no mods or anything but in game and it gets Max 14fps but runs great should I leave it
I have a RTX 3050, so does that mean I am good to use 4k?
This isn't a slight against you, but no, not a chance. That's at best a 1080p card if you want playable framerates.
Hi bud!! New to ATS...game keeps crashing ..is it because of mods installed?? Also how do I get like your stuff?? Not in game mods
Thanks for the video!
sir can u make a more scaled one i cant read anything
Well, this work in VR
Can I do these settings for my pc
Amd ryzen 5600g
Nvidia GT 1650
16gb ram
yes and because you have 16gb of ram you can set the mm_pool_size to 8192which is half of your ram
