because it's not just about one or even a few outliers. no one is unbeatable, especially in a sport where fractions of a percentage point make all the difference. When the big picture is examined, he has statistically proven that if he is in the mix at the end of a race, no matter the distance or discipline, he is most likely to finish the fastest and win out of everyone else. Also, I wouldn't read too much into sports commentary, as it is often sensational and laden with hyperbole, and in the cases of our dear friends at Eurosport, regularly inaccurate.
Hi Max! Fair point, but Kriukov has been Northug enough times in the past 7 years or so where One can safely say it's not rate, at least not for Kriukov. Northug himself said Kriukov has the best finish at the end of a race. You are right, nobody is unbeatable, but it's like certain head to head records in tennis, for example. Player A might have a better head to head record than player B. Obviously Northug is an all rounder and he gets beaten less at the end of distance races than he does in sprints, though that's been slowly changing the past season or so. ps. good luck at MSU!!
