Can you knock in the edges at a 45 degree angle? I have seen some people do this but some dont…

Hi Benny, you can do this but you have to be very careful so you do not end up hitting and damaging the right angle edge of the bat. Hence the glancing blows to the edge are a much safer option.

Good tips... Can you knock your bat with the Scuff sheet on?

Hi Abhishek, yes you can knock a bat in with an scuff sheet on. This will not impact on the quality of the knocking in as long as the bat has been oiled correctly before the scuff sheet was applied.

Personally I wouldn't use a mallet I was told by pro players there bats where only knocked using balls on mallets it means the bat get used to ball contact and also if the seam marks come up you'll know it needs more knocking in as you don't play with wooden balls.
