My buddy gave me some rusty spoons. He was gonna throw out. I took 30 seconds and put some different colored nail polish on them and sharpened the hooks. Fifth cast today I caught a 2 1/2 pound bass on one. I don’t think I ever fish with spoons. I found a whopper, flopper floating, made by river to see and gave it a quick bath under warm water and it got all the rust off of it. Slapped a set a new trebles on it and it’s ready to go.

Tried on treble hooks as well? Does the acid damages the hook points?

I wouldn’t recommend it on the hooks, do read the manufacturer’s recommendations.
This it’s not a “How to” it’s just what I do. 👍

Useful video, thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity, how do you find the Abu Mo please? Whenever I use this lure it planes very quickly to the surface, looks amazing, but, doesn't get hit over the shallow reefs I fish.

It’s not a lure a use a lot, hence it ended in that state, but I did use them quite a bit at some point. Rod tip low and I would change the speed and cadence of the retrieve depending on conditions to where I could keep the lure just under the surface and have it move in a zigzag motion. Thank you!
