    My hd25s have lasted 14 years to date and still are good as new apart from changing the pads. Custom cans offer an upgrade kit for the hd25s which give them a slightly rounder sound

      Ah nice one buddy!! They are certainly built to last. Good to know about custom cans!

    By the way:
    Chinese ear pads for $ 5 are able to make the HD-25 sound more bass and add sound insulation. The original ear pads are more durable, but when comparing them, I chose a fake one.
    The original velour ear pads are generally shit.

    My God, why are you comparing the HD-25 cable from the cheapest configuration? For example, in older versions there was a twisted cable + additional ear pads.
    In addition, I think a straight cable is better because it is lighter and does not outweigh the headphones themselves.

    I have a pair of hd25s and the sound is perfect but the only problem I have with them is that the cups don't turn around to 90 degrees

    Thank you for this!! I’m looking for deepness in sound, should I go with the Pioneer? I do also have a hearing loss of 40%, does the Pioneer give more isolation? Thank you!!

    • @djkarlthomas
      @djkarlthomas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pioneer certainly have a more bass rich sound. The isolation of outside noise is good on both pairs.

  • @paulfoot9230
    @paulfoot9230 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    2 different price points though. It's fairly obvious that the HD25's gonna have a more balanced sound.
    Thanks for doing this vid though. I'm looking at either the HD25's or the Pioneer hx10's in future, gonna get the cue 1's as a stop gap as my old cans are a bit fucked lol

      @@djkarlthomas I'm thinking Hd25's are a better option purely because they are less than half the price of the Pioneers, are the HX10's really worth 300 quid?

    • @djkarlthomas
      @djkarlthomas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With pioneer they do stick huge price tags on items. I have been a loyal HD25 user for years and they are always my go to. The bass on all pioneer headphones is too rich for me. I have a more in depth review on the HD25’s here th-cam.com/video/w-7RnuE1wCE/w-d-xo.html

    I got the pioneers for casual listening videos, podcasts and such. Did I make a good decision?
    I like folk music so the bass-heaviness is a bit of a problem. I still have a few weeks to return them to the store.

    • @djkarlthomas
      @djkarlthomas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do provide a very rich sound. I think for casual listening I would go for something more consumer focused rather than something which is aimed at dj monitoring in mind.
      See how you get on I guess?
