When our guide dog puppies leave their volunteer puppy raisers at around 14 months of age, they’ll then continue their guide dog training at one of our regional centres across the UK. We use our own Standardised Training for Excellent Partnerships (STEP) programme, which uses the principles of positive reinforcement to teach our dogs everything they need to learn to be successful and happy in their lives. In this video, Lucy Michaliszyn, Training and Behaviour Consultant, discusses the fifth step of the journey of a guide dog: training at our regional centres.

This is wonderful to hear, Janice! How long have you had Megan for now?
I have had Megan for 7 months. She is my first GD and is wonderful.
The most beautiful video I’ve ever seen. I hope those blind people are able to afford them 🥺

If I were a multi-millionaire philanthropist, everyone involved with the guide dogs organisation would be paid handsomly. For now all I can do is sponsor puppies and leave a gift in my will. Much love to all ❤
Thank you for your support, Mark. It's greatly appreciated ❤️
Aw you're awesome ❤
Once my assistance dog is fully trained I'm guna apply for a trainee video dog trainer position in Edinburgh :)
