Grew up in Honolulu. The first building is the Ilikia and is still there, so are all the buildings along Waikiki beach, except for the Sheraton monstrosity of building which hadn’t been built yet.
The Ilikai Hotel had a renovation several years ago. The awesome thing is they kept and restored a lot of the 1960's features. The only downside is that I was hoping they'd bring back the giant tiki that was at the pool (it's in an episode of the original Hawaii Five-O). Jack Lord resided in the penthouse at the Ilikai for years after his retirement.
Already too many hirises! They really are a blight to nice paradises like Hawaii and Miami once were!

Was stationed there in 1971 and the monstrosity beside the Pink Palace was up being finished ar flank speed.
