Are you able to use tool tips with small multiples? I have 14 different branch locations (Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit and so on) that I want to use a tool tip with to populate the Top 5 Lost Cases by Item for each specific small multiple branch I hover over but I cant seem to make that work. It just groups all of the branches together instead of doing the specific one I'm hovering over.
Hi Kristi, thanks for your question. Yes, you can use custom tooltips and it should filter on the different branch locations. I just tried it on the example file in the video. Not sure why it is not working for you. If you like I can have a quick look, just send me a sample file (bas.dohmen@datatraining.io)
Hi, Bas! Your content has elevated my work in so many ways! I have a question. Is it possible to add URL link for each small multiple? For instance, I'm breaking out a cost over time line by small multiples based on the "project" field. I want to be able to have a clickable link on each small multiple chart that the user can click on. This link will take them to a separate application landing page for that specific project. We're able to do this just fine in a table/matrix, but we would love to be able to embed a link icon for each small multiple chart for each project. I hope you have a solution! Thanks so much for everything you do!
How do you like small multiples so far?
Not so much
Wasn't aware of this new visual. Thanks for sharing Bas! Another great video where I know more today than I did yesterday due to your videos.
awesome, I hope you find some nice ways of using this new visual!
Excellent explanation! Congrats!!!
Do you know if it is possible to add a constant line based on a measure there for each small multiples creates a unique constant line??
Great video thanks! Is there a way to add a calculated average line for every graph?
Thank you for the video. I also would like to know if I use a clustered column chart, how the DAX will be?
Kudos to you for explaining it so well. Your name should be BOSS!! instead of BAS. Great work.
Hahahah hillarious :) thx for the nice words
Hey! Is there a way to avoid showing categories in X axis that have blank measure value?
@How to Power Bi, how does the conditional colour formatting translate to the line charts? currently it only seems to work in bar charts.
I think you can apply conditional formatting to the markers, but not to the line itself yet
I can't find the button to enable small multiples in Options > preview and features on the new Bower BI Desktop is there any alternatives ? Thank you

is it possible to add the x-axis for each section?
Great video!
Why cant I apply conditional formatting on small multiples in this Version: 2.116.966.0 64-bit (April 2023) I've gotta be missing something
Thanks, Bas. I expect these will also improve performance of reports i.e. 1 small multiples visual vs x number of individual visuals.
thats right Richard! Power BI would send 1 query for the small multiples visual instead of one for each visual you would otherwise have to create
Thanks Bas!
perfect, thanks
Thanks!
I really do not understand why Microsoft is creating all this stuff that can be easily accomplished with existing Power BI means.
How did you do it before? I would have created multiple small visuals, but that would take longer to load and to create.
@@HowtoPowerBI Yes, but it is possible to do. There are plenty of things that you can do in Qlick View, but not in PBI :)
