It does take getting used to the scent of violet to be able to use violet-forward perfumes!😂 V is initially a very harsh scent without much sweetness, but it dries down into sweet candied violets. It’s really grown on me & I reach for it often. I just bought Fleurs d’Ombre Violette-Menthe. I’ve worn Ombre Rose off and on since 1985, and I love minty perfumes & violet, and the reviews seemed positive on Fragrantica, so I’ve got my fingers crossed for this to be a good blind buy!🤞😂
Sorry for the late, late comment. I saw someone mention Serge Lutens De Profundis, which is one of my absolute favorites. To me, it's such a pensive, thoughtful scent. Also from Serge Lutens is Bois de Violette. Very different than a lot of their fragrances, as it's not a complex scent. Simple and beautifully done. It's not overly sweet or powdery. Complemented very well by a cedar note. I recall the longevity is light to moderate.
My favourite fragrances with violet: Goutal La Violette, Balenciaga Paris, Pharrell Williams Girl, Alaia, ELDO True Lust and Guerlain Insolence 😉 Some of them have violet leaf in the notes, too.
I am going to try Guerlain Insolence, so many talk about it. I really enjoy the violet in Santal Blanc from Van Cleef & Arpels. Your Amethyst necklace is gorgeous and perfect for the violet theme💜💜
Violet is wonderful. I recently fell in love with Violet Ida from Miller Harris. It’s so comforting and beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. Some deep memories being brought up…. perhaps from another life 💜

I know it won't surprise you but I adore violet flower, the leaf... Hit and miss. Tho sometimes violet leaf with a bit of sweetness or grassiness is pleasant. But when it's that full on almost petrol fresh blast like in Fahrenheit and Black Rain it can be too much. The flower 😍 I adore insolence and Pupre. And it's funny u mention OSM cos I've never smelt it as a Rose Oud the violet comes on strong on me, that dark sweetness, its bloody lovely. There are so many like Missia, Lipstick Rose that I also adore but even on the "cheapie" scale I bloody love Burberry Touch which has both in, Ysl La Nuit L'Intense a beautiful violet running through it. Easily one of my favourite notes Great video 😊

Never knew Oud Satin Mood had Violet, just thought it was a too sweet frag though I like what its trying to do. My violet has to be the vintage kind most people don't know about especially Devon Violet/Aidees (and their Heather perfume). Vintage Meteorites/Guerlain is more well known. Insolence is exactly the type of violet that doesn't work for me, had to sell it off at a garage sale for about $5.00 no other takers.
I'm so grateful I was introduced to violet by Burberry Touch for men. Violet and tonka bean dry down. Someday I will get YSL Grain de Poudre because I love sage. I've discovered how nice suede accords can be in the background of a violet note. I got to try Fahrenheit Parfum and loved the blend of violet, suede, and rum. Unfortunately Dior only sells it in Europe and maybe Australia. It's a shame, Dior lost a customer for life with because of that. Burberry Touch can be bought for less than $40. I highly recommend it for men. It's very sharp and refreshing. The Tonka Bean rounds it out very nicely. I think it could be my favorite perfume. But, I'm very curious of YSL Grain de Poudre because of Quentin Bisch. I would love to compare it with Touch and possibly layer it. Also YSL L'homme supposedly has violet in the heart. YSL La Nuit de L'homme has both violet and iris with a tonka bean and leather accord in the base. This might be the perfect for me. I used to love lavender fragrances but some of the newer ones remind me of dryer sheets.
I was going to suggest Violet Shot, but you got that covered at the end there👌🏻 Cool list. I'm surprised to see Oud Satin Mood included, but yeah, thinking about it I suppose there is something violet candied about it as well as that rose candy. I just saw 2 of my Violet perfume: Tom Ford Violet Blonde which is utterly uplifting while it also is assuring and comforting (I know, opposite sensación). My second would be Boadicea inspired presented by Dua Purple Sapphire, which also embellishes you while making you feel comforted. My co-worker next to my cubicle finds both aromatherapeutic. They do have a presence! Now I wish to try Pourpre d'automne and Violette Shot.

Hermes Violet Volynka is a newish unique violet leather. Highly recommend. The only Tom ford I wear is Violet Blonde, discontinued of course since I love it. My daughter wears Insolence. Violet blond is like an older more mature sister of insolence
Lolita Lempicka EDP 1997 is, so far, my only foray into violet …an oddly witchy fragrance that’s definitely taken me a minute to ‘get to know’ and so far, one of those scents I wear ‘for me’ only💐👌
I wore Lolita way back in college and my early twenties. I saw that the company was sold and no longer have the original formulation. Have you recently purchased it? Does it smell the same? I purchased it a few years ago and didn’t like it. Not sure if it’s just my taste has changed or the formulation is not as good. I found it smelled like pencil shavings. 😢
I don't own any violet perfumes so I might need to go sniff some. I remember smelling Goutal's La Violette many years ago when my brother had moved to France and I went to visit. His wife was wearing Mandragore Poupre at the time and back then all the bottles had the bows on and the gold tags. So pretty. Ahh I love scent memories! Ooh little update: I bought Diptyque's L'Ombre dans L'Eau and I couldn't rock it, too bitter, so I bought Miller Harris Found at Dusk 👍👍👍

Serge Lutens De Profundis is one of my all time favs. In fact, I am going to spray some right now lol. and I also really enjoy Comme des Garçons/ Pharrell Williams Girl. I am dying to try Violet Shot since really enjoying Iris Shot. My next discovery set is definitely Maison Violet. And I had never heard of MiN New York until now, but added them to my list of houses to check out. Thanks 😊.
