I say Reclameing your potential / dreams. Plenty of people in this world give up on their dreams because things get hard or something gets in the way I think a game based around this idea would work well. Similar to the idea of Persona 5's first trailer being You Are Slave, Want Emancipation? I think with this theme idea in mind I would go with A Silver mirror like color with an accenting Neon Color and if not that then Green, The line this Time would be "You who have Fallen from the Heavens, Reach out and Reclam your wings!" this world be above the image of an angel with torn wings reaching for a new pair, to fully exmplfy this theme. I also have the idea for setting as this time there would be 2 protagonists an older and younger brother that share the wild card! The younger brother would be going to Japan for a year as a foreign exchange student while the older Brother would be in his first year of college back here in the states both them and their groups would be working twords solving the mystery of a mysterious MMO that you can only be invited to if a current player sends you the Web address ending with .666, and the dangerous part of this game is if you lose the game you lose your ambitions in life along with the thing you like the most about yourself, Both groups of heroes are working twords ending this madness and save the world from this mysterious event as the worst cases of victims of this game keep playing the game again and again until they lose their will to live and drop dead! I remember when I first encountered a reaper. My little step siblings were over for the weekend and I tried to put loads of hours into the game as quickly as possible. I was only about level 26 at the time and desperately needed to grind. I muted the t.v. since the kids ended up talking over it and I thought I didn't need to have sound on. Mum called me just as I fought a shadow and reluctantly stepped away from the PlayStation. When I came back I thought nothing of it and entered one of those huge rooms that treasure its usually in. I looted a crate, turned around and did a real life QTE...pausing the game when the reaper was inches away from me. It made the kids laugh but I was close to having a heart attack. It would have been fine if I was expecting it but NOOOOO I had to turn the sound off which gave me no clues 😂😂 Eventually I duked him and ran to another floor, but from then on I was super careful about leaving it on when I was mid way through mementos
Thanks. I knew about the exploit from the past few days in that he would get Despair, but I *didn't* know he would die after three turns. I assumed you just had to wail on him with no repercussions or something. That's awesome.
I knew about using the reaper to do this *exploit* i had no idea it works better with mishima.. damn guess ill have to get him up to 10 so i can try this again was getting a little under 207k exp from the reaper without mishima but after hitting leveling 70-75 it started to slow down think i eventually hit 95 in like 1-2 hours
Other than the exp boost you'll be getting, all members will get the same amount of exp; meaning they will all level together and hit 98-99 at the same time. Not having to re-do the same thing for other members or swap them around to place lower levels in the active party everytime some lag behind saves you a lot of time.
Thing to note he drops an accessories that reduce by 50% the damage taken put that on the main character and equipped a Persona such as the Trumpeter (LV59) that has no weaknesses and immune to both Dark and Light and your almost guaranteed to never die and be able to escape before he reckt you if it happens to don't have despair and have the advantage.
I know i can be a little to late but maybe this tip will be helpful. I just noticed after few attempts that it has more chance to comes with despair if you let him ambush you. I let it happens 5 times and all the 5 he was with despair. Before that i did ambush him 5 times too and none of them he was with despair.

fy Hifumi at max allows you to switch party members on anyone's turn. Mega useful on my first playthrough, especially with the generous stat effect inducing endgame bosses
There is an ability that allows you to run when ambushed, and if the reaper ambushes you he only acts once a turn so let him ambush you for max surviveability
The method is found for farming experience and money was at the end of the game just before u fight the final boss for the last time. Head backwards to the previous space where you would see two shadows to your right and left. They're at pretty high level, so better once you've discovered their weaknesses, keep exploiting it. After every battle, you're almost guaranteed to level up and along, they give upto 50000 yen. If you have them on holdup, they can cough up even more. Once their defeated, return to your previous space and come back out, where they'd have responded. If your health and special is low, quick travel to the beginning where you can get healed (both ho and sp) for free.
I think Atlas patched the exploit after I encountered the reaper twice the game stopped giving him despair state no matter how many times I tried. Update: (restarting the game seems to fix the problem)
Kiet Pham Nah. Turns out it's just a matter of RNG. Some fights you get lucky the first few times. Other fights, you can go for about 50 rounds with no despair ailments on the Reaper.
I'm a bit late to the discussionbut if you attack the reaper as he attacks you, he's much more likely to have despair. I get it with like a 50% success rate

Oh nooooooooooo :( I hope you didn't waste so much time... Rank 5 is locked until a future date and can't be attained until you reach the 22nd of August after certain story events. For the time being, try to spend more time on other confidants and social stats. Also, Kawakami is the most important Confidant so make sure you never miss a chance to call her over; especially since she is only available 2 days of the week.

thanks, i'm a game perfectionist and i'm trying to get along with leveling and all social link. I knew Mishima SL would be useful, though i never thought the Reaper was a 'farmable' mob just like the adamantoise in FFXIII.

So this might be random luck, but I’ve found that I have to leave a floor and go to a new one or come back to the old one every time I beat a despair reaper. Three times in a row now, I got a despair reaper right away, then went around on the same floor starting a fight with, and running away from, 10-20 reaper encounters. Maybe others have had a similar experience.

Zelkovae Hey Zelk! Welcome to the army :) Happy to have you as a sub. Yes, you can fuse any Persona in your first playthrough except for Satanael as long as you have met the pre requisite of unlocking it. There are multiple Persona which only get unlocked if you reach Social Link rank 10 of their corresponding Confidant. By far Satanael is the most OP Persona although others prefer other ones who can achieve complete immunity through carrying over immunities so he is a bit difficult to fuse. However, if you unlock all the Persona required to fuse him then you can get him early on in your second PT. Good luck and thanks for the kind feedback!

The only time I went out of my way to use a consumable item was against the secret boss fight available in NG+. Other than that, I only used a couple of SP items during random Palaces when I was rushing. If I were you, I would sell my consumables and only leave SP and Cure All Status Ailments type items. You can live without everything else. First priority should be Kawakami and her Social Link. Her final rank makes Palace and Mementos take half a day only so if I were you I'd make sure I sacrifice anything for the sake of improving that link since it actually gives you more time to do other things. Save your Mementos farming for when you have 2-4 Requests so you can fulfill requests AND make money in the same visit.
It's ok. Try stripping your expensive stuff EXCEPT for the Main Character (Either replace with crappy cheap gear or unequip if it will allow you). Sell their equipment and you should have 20-30K. You can re-gear them once you make millions

To me, the Reaper is actually harder than the Twins... If you use the OP Yoshitsune build, the twins can only REALLY hurt you with Vajra Blast and fire skills (you resist fire), everything else you either Null, Drain or Repel... They have no Almighty attacks to get around this, so if you survive the first round of Gun skills, you are basicly set to win at some point, as long as you keep hitting them for enough damage so they don't end the fight. I had the Twins fight go for nearly an hour on my firt try, because i kept missing one of them whenever they both got low on HP... The Reaper has no easy build to exploit it, outside of the Flu trick because of it's heavy hitting Almighty attacks...
Another easier way is to let the reaper hit you first ( That's only if you ranked Kakoi Kuzushi) that way reaper use one turn. When it's your turn you can instantly run away using Kakoi Kuzushi.

I thought that since they added this reaper enemy into the game, players would find a way to beat it for a lot of rewards. I'm glad I saw this to help me in the future. So Mishima, the Moon Arcana, should be rank 10 to speed up the process? But it's not required of course, right?
Yeah it's not a must as only having him at rank 1 makes this work (Backup members get exp) but as you increase his rank, the amount of exp you get increases and at rank 10, all members (Including backup) will receive the same amount of exp. This ensures that no one gets left behind and everyone hits 99 together.
Me on my second playthrough cuz my original first save got corrupted, so playing to max out my team and being at least level 30 rn, and on day 6/30, passionately waiting for the flu season so I can sh!t on the reaper the way he does to me 👹
Hi! It has been a while indeed and I might not be remembering things correctly but this didn't work because the Reaper is immune to all status changes. The only reason this works is because the Pollen season overrides immunities and whatnot. Hence why this method is only available during a specific timeframe.

you should do a vid on easiest ways to get the personas with the right abilities for Justine and Caroline...they want a matador with the wind spell but I don't have a matador and never see them, I'm at 4th palace.

I went into Mementos during flu season, but while some enemies were despaired, the Reaper was never despaired. I beat 3 of them, each time with no despair? Is the ailment random?
There are still 2 or 3 dungeons left but you're not doing it for the level itself. Rather for the benefit of being able to Fuse all Persona free of charge which really helps with your 2nd playthrough and I really hope you do decide to go for a 2nd PT.
I mean that's why I wanted the levels anyway, but I don't really want to do a whole second run so soon after the first. I'll go back some other time and get them all hopefully.
Reaper is highly resistance to status ailments. Meaning its almost impossible to despair him. It's why flu season is needed. Likewise you can't freeze, burn, shock, or any other ailment him

I'm new to the series and I'm at the museum story part. I have some questions if someone can help me with plz. 1. Is it possible to max out ALL your confidants b4 the game ends? or u jus have to pick one/two that benefits you most and focus building with him/her? 2. When you hang out with your confidant, it boost more points if u have a persona of the same kind rite? If so, for characters you can't really hang out with (Igor, Morgana, Justine/Caroline, etc), does it benefit if you have those same personas on u? I'm tryin to get the most points out of building confidants and i'm overstressed by tryin to manage my collection of personas to match theirs.
1. Yes, you can max all of your confidants in one play-through before the game ends, however this is extremely difficult on your first play-through, and I would recommend waiting until New Game+ before trying to max them all in one run as it also requires maxing your social stats and making full use of certain confidants (temperance and fortune to be specific). 2. All story related confidants( those being Fool, justice, judgement and magician) increase as the story progresses, as such having a matching persona does not benefit them. Also, sun, moon and strength do not need matching personas, they increase automatically as you spend time with them (or in strengths case, as you fulfill their requests).
1- Yes it is possible to max out everyone in one playthrough but you'll most likely be doing it in a NG+ where you don't need to worry about your Personal Traits (Knowledge, Charm...etc) since they carry over to NG+. 2- No, those are story driven and story events will increase their level (Igor, Morgana...etc). The twins are different. They level up based on you fulfilling their task. If you're in NG+ and you already have unlocked ALL the Personas they request from you, you can reach rank 10 in the same day.

I c wat u guys mean with NG+ bc we have til Dec. and we can't handle maxing out everything by then, and I kinda figured that you don't need those matching personas for those story-related confidants (but I wasn't sure, now I noe). Yea I have spent tens of hours tryin to collect all personas in every dungeon and goin crzy tryna figure out wat to fuse, wat to keep and wat not, for building confidants. Now i understand much better, thx a ton for the help guys!!
T. N. also moon and sun don't require personas. actually, sun always ranks up no matter what you do. Even duologue choices don't matter for Sun. And Mishima is quest based like the twins.
He has no weaknesses. If you are trying to take him head on, I would bring a group of characters you have max Social Link with for their Evade Element ability so Reaper can't exploit your weaknesses as easy. A bunch of male characters with Tantric Oath (Satan Item Conversion) can help and so does Crystal Skull. Also having Curse / Bless immunity on the MC is important so you don't get an instant KO.
Hold on a second. The reaper was not scary in Persona 4. I mean if you had a high level party, he's very easy as hell. This mofo was scary as f*** in Persona 3! O_O
OmniBurst048 The Reaper isn't scary at all if you know that he has a very simple attack pattern and overprapareing for him is a good way to cause him to spam Megadolon until you're dead all you really need to do is the same strategy you do to beat Eribus in the Answer, SPAM THE HELL OUT OF THUNDER REIGH WITH ODIN AND HAVE EVERYBODY ELSE ON SUPORT TO KEEP YOUR HEALTH UP, repeat this and the Reaper will be dead I under 5 to 10 minutes depending on your LV and agenst Erabus about 40 minutes to an hour depending on LV, Persona 4 you just need to be a high enough LV hell that's technically all it is for all of these games be smart and be strong, no the real nightmare of any Persona game is the Velvet Room attendants 0_0 oh god the painful memories 0_0 oh dear god why did I even challenge Elizabeth!
Demi-Fiend of Time friendly reminder that the Velvet Room Attendants are 50 turn battles, and they eat two turns up in a single turn except for Caroline and Justine (making them easier in some regards)

fy Hifumi at max allows you to switch party members on anyone's turn. Mega useful on my first playthrough, especially with the generous stat effect inducing endgame bosses

There is an ability that allows you to run when ambushed, and if the reaper ambushes you he only acts once a turn so let him ambush you for max surviveability
The method is found for farming experience and money was at the end of the game just before u fight the final boss for the last time. Head backwards to the previous space where you would see two shadows to your right and left. They're at pretty high level, so better once you've discovered their weaknesses, keep exploiting it. After every battle, you're almost guaranteed to level up and along, they give upto 50000 yen. If you have them on holdup, they can cough up even more. Once their defeated, return to your previous space and come back out, where they'd have responded. If your health and special is low, quick travel to the beginning where you can get healed (both ho and sp) for free.
I think Atlas patched the exploit after I encountered the reaper twice the game stopped giving him despair state no matter how many times I tried.
Update: (restarting the game seems to fix the problem)

Turns out it's just a matter of RNG. Some fights you get lucky the first few times. Other fights, you can go for about 50 rounds with no despair ailments on the Reaper.

I'm a bit late to the discussionbut if you attack the reaper as he attacks you, he's much more likely to have despair. I get it with like a 50% success rate

For the time being, try to spend more time on other confidants and social stats. Also, Kawakami is the most important Confidant so make sure you never miss a chance to call her over; especially since she is only available 2 days of the week.

So this might be random luck, but I’ve found that I have to leave a floor and go to a new one or come back to the old one every time I beat a despair reaper.
Three times in a row now, I got a despair reaper right away, then went around on the same floor starting a fight with, and running away from, 10-20 reaper encounters.
Maybe others have had a similar experience.

Yes, you can fuse any Persona in your first playthrough except for Satanael as long as you have met the pre requisite of unlocking it. There are multiple Persona which only get unlocked if you reach Social Link rank 10 of their corresponding Confidant. By far Satanael is the most OP Persona although others prefer other ones who can achieve complete immunity through carrying over immunities so he is a bit difficult to fuse. However, if you unlock all the Persona required to fuse him then you can get him early on in your second PT.

The only time I went out of my way to use a consumable item was against the secret boss fight available in NG+. Other than that, I only used a couple of SP items during random Palaces when I was rushing.
If I were you, I would sell my consumables and only leave SP and Cure All Status Ailments type items. You can live without everything else.
First priority should be Kawakami and her Social Link. Her final rank makes Palace and Mementos take half a day only so if I were you I'd make sure I sacrifice anything for the sake of improving that link since it actually gives you more time to do other things.
Save your Mementos farming for when you have 2-4 Requests so you can fulfill requests AND make money in the same visit.

It's ok. Try stripping your expensive stuff EXCEPT for the Main Character (Either replace with crappy cheap gear or unequip if it will allow you). Sell their equipment and you should have 20-30K. You can re-gear them once you make millions

To me, the Reaper is actually harder than the Twins...
If you use the OP Yoshitsune build, the twins can only REALLY hurt you with Vajra Blast and fire skills (you resist fire), everything else you either Null, Drain or Repel... They have no Almighty attacks to get around this, so if you survive the first round of Gun skills, you are basicly set to win at some point, as long as you keep hitting them for enough damage so they don't end the fight.
I had the Twins fight go for nearly an hour on my firt try, because i kept missing one of them whenever they both got low on HP...
The Reaper has no easy build to exploit it, outside of the Flu trick because of it's heavy hitting Almighty attacks...

Tried this and it never worked once. Reaper instant-killed me before I could even retreat on multiple occasions, and I was around level 60.

To be clear, I think this is only for the base "Persona 5" - Pretty sure the Reaper catching the flu was patched out of "Persona 5 Royal".
Another easier way is to let the reaper hit you first ( That's only if you ranked Kakoi Kuzushi) that way reaper use one turn. When it's your turn you can instantly run away using Kakoi Kuzushi.
If only flu season was in the early game... I started ng+ and now I’m at one again

I thought that since they added this reaper enemy into the game, players would find a way to beat it for a lot of rewards. I'm glad I saw this to help me in the future.
So Mishima, the Moon Arcana, should be rank 10 to speed up the process? But it's not required of course, right?
Yeah it's not a must as only having him at rank 1 makes this work (Backup members get exp) but as you increase his rank, the amount of exp you get increases and at rank 10, all members (Including backup) will receive the same amount of exp. This ensures that no one gets left behind and everyone hits 99 together.
That's a big help even if I have dlc personas like messiah piccaro

Is it possible to use a move that has a high chance of despair to an enemy or does the Reaper avoid that?
Hi! It has been a while indeed and I might not be remembering things correctly but this didn't work because the Reaper is immune to all status changes. The only reason this works is because the Pollen season overrides immunities and whatnot. Hence why this method is only available during a specific timeframe.

I went into Mementos during flu season, but while some enemies were despaired, the Reaper was never despaired. I beat 3 of them, each time with no despair? Is the ailment random?

So basically this can't be done if you're at the very end of the game. Well that sucks >.
There are still 2 or 3 dungeons left but you're not doing it for the level itself. Rather for the benefit of being able to Fuse all Persona free of charge which really helps with your 2nd playthrough and I really hope you do decide to go for a 2nd PT.
I mean that's why I wanted the levels anyway, but I don't really want to do a whole second run so soon after the first. I'll go back some other time and get them all hopefully.

Reaper is highly resistance to status ailments. Meaning its almost impossible to despair him. It's why flu season is needed. Likewise you can't freeze, burn, shock, or any other ailment him

I'm new to the series and I'm at the museum story part. I have some questions if someone can help me with plz.
1. Is it possible to max out ALL your confidants b4 the game ends? or u jus have to pick one/two that benefits you most and focus building with him/her?
2. When you hang out with your confidant, it boost more points if u have a persona of the same kind rite? If so, for characters you can't really hang out with (Igor, Morgana, Justine/Caroline, etc), does it benefit if you have those same personas on u? I'm tryin to get the most points out of building confidants and i'm overstressed by tryin to manage my collection of personas to match theirs.
1. Yes, you can max all of your confidants in one play-through before the game ends, however this is extremely difficult on your first play-through, and I would recommend waiting until New Game+ before trying to max them all in one run as it also requires maxing your social stats and making full use of certain confidants (temperance and fortune to be specific).
2. All story related confidants( those being Fool, justice, judgement and magician) increase as the story progresses, as such having a matching persona does not benefit them. Also, sun, moon and strength do not need matching personas, they increase automatically as you spend time with them (or in strengths case, as you fulfill their requests).
1- Yes it is possible to max out everyone in one playthrough but you'll most likely be doing it in a NG+ where you don't need to worry about your Personal Traits (Knowledge, Charm...etc) since they carry over to NG+.
2- No, those are story driven and story events will increase their level (Igor, Morgana...etc). The twins are different. They level up based on you fulfilling their task. If you're in NG+ and you already have unlocked ALL the Personas they request from you, you can reach rank 10 in the same day.
Ohh ok, I understand now! I c wat u guys mean with NG+ bc we have til Dec. and we can't handle maxing out everything by then, and I kinda figured that you don't need those matching personas for those story-related confidants (but I wasn't sure, now I noe). Yea I have spent tens of hours tryin to collect all personas in every dungeon and goin crzy tryna figure out wat to fuse, wat to keep and wat not, for building confidants. Now i understand much better, thx a ton for the help guys!!
T. N. also moon and sun don't require personas. actually, sun always ranks up no matter what you do. Even duologue choices don't matter for Sun. And Mishima is quest based like the twins.

One Question. What element or type of attack is the Reaper most susceptible to? Another question, what party would you suggest?
He has no weaknesses. If you are trying to take him head on, I would bring a group of characters you have max Social Link with for their Evade Element ability so Reaper can't exploit your weaknesses as easy.
A bunch of male characters with Tantric Oath (Satan Item Conversion) can help and so does Crystal Skull. Also having Curse / Bless immunity on the MC is important so you don't get an instant KO.

OmniBurst048 The Reaper isn't scary at all if you know that he has a very simple attack pattern and overprapareing for him is a good way to cause him to spam Megadolon until you're dead all you really need to do is the same strategy you do to beat Eribus in the Answer, SPAM THE HELL OUT OF THUNDER REIGH WITH ODIN AND HAVE EVERYBODY ELSE ON SUPORT TO KEEP YOUR HEALTH UP, repeat this and the Reaper will be dead I under 5 to 10 minutes depending on your LV and agenst Erabus about 40 minutes to an hour depending on LV, Persona 4 you just need to be a high enough LV hell that's technically all it is for all of these games be smart and be strong, no the real nightmare of any Persona game is the Velvet Room attendants 0_0 oh god the painful memories 0_0 oh dear god why did I even challenge Elizabeth!
