Entertainment has become an idol in our generation... including in my life. God is currently working on my heart and I am in a constant process of repentance, seeking God's presence and delight over entertainment and my flesh. Thank you for this video ... the LORD is disciplining His children.
@@robertnolasco7747 I think we can enjoy entertainment in moderation, similar to how we enjoy food in moderation. But we have to be willing to be honest with ourselves and with God about when entertainment becomes an idol or is starting to become an idol. In those times when we find that we are looking forward to a TH-cam video or TikTok binge more than we are looking forward to sitting in God's presence, it is probably a signal that entertainment is becoming an idol. That's why fasting is so important because when we fast from the idols in our hearts, it weans us off the attachment to those idols and shifts our focus back to God.

I for one am always looking for something that i find entertaining. It’s sort of instinct at this point. Entertainment can easily be an idol. To be entertained means to be occupied or distracted. Entertainment occupies the mind. It's hard to be spiritually sober when we are distracted.

I’ve actually had to let go of people who are just so invested in other people’s lives. Whether it’s celebrities or people they know. This message is so ON TIME. I’ve been so over social media, and what society has normalized and just.. everything really.
Whew I’m gonna view this comment as confirmation- because I currently have a friend that I’m struggling to let go of. She’s so invested in other people’s lives and it’s so disturbing and unbearable to me now. I’m hoping God can just remove her because I do not know how to distance myself from her. We’ve friends for almost 2 decades and the friendship isn’t serving me in anyway.
At the end of the day it’s a decision but if your willing I’d delete social media. This is the closet thing I have to social media on my phone and it definitely feels good not to scroll through endless distracting events going on in others life’s. But I mean at the same time if you can use social media for finical reasons then why not?

I thought I couldn’t let go of my uncle and a close friend of 8 years until I sat back asked god to reveal my enemies an then I just did my own thing . Didn’t hit anyone up just focused on myself an then it’s like they just vanished…. An then I realized I was the one keeping them so close. Turns out the friend of 8 years who’ve I’ve never argued with a day in my life truly! Wasn’t on my side and decided to be friends with someone who talked behind my back and I haven’t spoke to him in about a year and 6months. Crazy if you just sit back and observe the truth will come to light.

Thank you for speaking on this. Lately, I have been having such a hard time spending uninterrupted time with God. I read my Bible most mornings, and pray occasionally throughout the week, but to be honest, it doesn’t excite, energize, and renew me like it should anymore. Instead, I get distracted by my thoughts, what I should do that day, and meaningless entertainment. It’s exciting at first, but leaves me feeling empty. I need to get back to spending uninterrupted quality time with God. I want to be excited to read His Word and hear from Him.
I was just praying toGod that He would break the chains of entertainment over my life. i’ve been keeping myself from being constantly entertained, and just keeping myself in the presence of God. I pray that this cycle of constant entertainment will be broken off of all of our lives, and that we will just trust in Christ for our joy, peace, and most importantly, our love. Amen.

Before i knew jesus, i had always said i believed in him but never participated in a realationship, i was a huge fan of Bts , and didn't realize i was putting them above god untell i got saved and started reading the bible, my advice would be to drop the celebrities because majority like bts don't believe in god and they will lead you down the wrong path, instead pray for those people and start exalting God. God gave me a dream and told me to read jeremiah 4… needless to say i’m trying to get back on track

Been feeling this way as of lately but haven’t heard anyone really speak about this ! as believers we definitely need to make sure that the cares of this life don’t choke out the word within us! You know in scripture animals are often used in visions to show a spiritual understanding and I think it’s rather profound how about a year or two ago there were so many animals just walking in circles all around the world, I believe that was some kind of spiritual illustration of Gods people as well we need to step out of these cycles and be tuned into what the Holy Spirt is saying in this hour
While I agree with alot of the points you make in the video I think it just boils down to one’s own relationship with Christ. Entertainment shouldn’t be idolized but it’s not bad if it’s handled properly. To grow closer with Christ you have to keep seeking him, keeping him in your mind everyday as you grow. How Abel gave the best of his flocks to the Lord I think a major part of what we do should be dedicated to the purpose of Jesus Christ and the work he’s done for us.
this is why i think there's some pros to modern music & tv being so bad these days, it's less distracting and appealing for us so we can now focus on more important Heavenly things, not earthly ones
My experience to what God is like for me. I take it as like oxygen I don’t know what it looks like but just know I need it. I take Gods love like this. He’s the creator and the Alpha and omega. The beginning middle and end. The everlasting of everlasting. Now His love is completely different from us, Him being the creator He kept in mind “my creation doesn’t necessarily know what they are doing.” I will sacrifice my only Son to give my creation another chance. His love for us was even though He’s top and ruler of all things He gave us a chance of salvation through His only Son. God saved me in a lot of ways. How I live and view things are now more meaningful because God opened my heart and I learned to count all my blessings. I sin here and there but I ask for forgiveness and I’m learning to bounce back and learn so I’m not practicing sin

My experience to what God is like for me. I take it as like oxygen I don’t know what it looks like but just know I need it. I take Gods love like this. He’s the creator and the Alpha and omega. The beginning middle and end. The everlasting of everlasting. Now His love is completely different from us, Him being the creator He kept in mind “my creation doesn’t necessarily know what they are doing.” I will sacrifice my only Son to give my creation another chance. His love for us was even though He’s top and ruler of all things He gave us a chance of salvation through His only Son. God saved me in a lot of ways. How I live and view things are now more meaningful because God opened my heart and I learned to count all my blessings. I sin here and there but I ask for forgiveness and I’m learning to bounce back and learn so I’m not practicing sin

Honestly, now that I’ve started to put my focus on God by deleting TikTok and instagram because every morning I would get on those apps scroll for over hours and not realize it’s ruining myself. Nowadays I’m tryna find something on my phone entertaining but I usually just go back to the Bible app and continue reading lol😂
