I like the rules back then. QBs were actually charged for intentional grounding. And defensive backs couldn’t stab receivers in the neck. Ok, that was a slight exaggeration. But nowadays DBs can be piggyback on receivers and still not get penalized. They changed the rules to have more scoring. But I’d rather see a 10-7 score than a 56-48 score like now. It’s ridiculous. It’s football, not basketball.

If Drew Pearson doesn't get horse collared by Eric Wright, the Cowboys play in the Super Bowl. Because of that tackle, Danny White gets sacked and fumble the ball and the rest is history. The 49ers become team of the 80's the Cowboys lose another NFC championship game and don't win another playoff game until the 1991 wildcard game.

The Cowboys here were still the top echelons of the NFL. The Bucs had no chance in this game and lost the next year too against the Cowboys in the play. After Bucs owner Hugh Culverhouse let Doug Williams walk because he was a cheapskate the Bucs would not have a winning season until 1997 when Tony Dungy revived the the team thanks to their defense.

He was horrible in both games. Still, at least for this game I agree with Stram that the TB OL sucked. Williams’ play improved significantly with Redskins. Better coach, better system, better OL, better QB.

"They feel like ROGER Dangerfield, they get no respect." I guess Rodney was right, he really doesn't get any respect, as Hank Stram can't even get his name right, lol.

That Roger Dangerfield line might be a witty joke if it was on purpose,

From 1979-82 the Bucs had a decent team, but ownership wouldn't spend the money to get the pieces needed to get them over the hump. After that they became a laughing stock for 15 years until the late 90's.

Williams was Nick Foles before Nick Foles, an average at best QB with a clutch gene.
