    Good overview of options out there! I 've modded my standard cardridges with new springs, revalve,(add midvalve), new haudraulic stops and good oil. Love it and feel no difference with an 20mm cartridge kit.(Andreani) Therefor I dont see any improvement in going for these type of cardridge unless you go for some extra travel length. People should also realize that big piston cartridges are never that plush on tarmac. So spending big buks does not always result in better suspension for a given rider!

      Thanks for pointing this out.
      Plushness is something I heard many people talk about and not being satisfied.
      If you want that, then you really have to have long travel suspension and soft springs 😬. And then you will lack other things when it comes to harder riding, like give and take as always.
      Nice to hear that you got the oem suspension up to scratch 👌

      I went with Andreanis and the difference is night-and-day, they soak up all the potholes a lot better. feels a lot plusher on bumpy road while at the same time being rigid in the corners. Only downside is that my unmodified rear shock feels like total crap now.

    Hi there! I finally have gone for a Worl Ride (now with 6k kms). Have you disassembled any to check what are the upgrades compared to a std T7?
    And, more curiosity, have you checked the Aprilia Tuareg forks? opinon?
    Thanks in advance!!! Have a nice weekeeeeeeend!!!!

      Heey!!
      I haven’t had the pleasure too work on the WR suspension.
      They are the same, just a bit longer stroke, improved valving etc.
      still not as good as RR suspension, but better than the Standard T7.
      No experience with Aprilia either

    Hi Marcus, I am 75 kg, but factory recomended 10 clicks preload gives me almost 7 cm riders sag (35%). Increasing preload on 20 clicks gives me 6 cm sag (30%). But even at that preload and relatively hard commpression I found that rear shock is going all the way down prity often. I ride mostly bumpy gravel roads.

    • @everythingtenere
      @everythingtenere  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dont think it would hurt to go up a spring rate.
      It all performs optimal when you have as little preload as possible imho, and when you need preload for adding luggage, you have some to spare.

    • @sasopeterlin3328
      @sasopeterlin3328 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@everythingtenere OK Marcus, if I understand you correctly, you are saying to set the preload as suggested in the instructions. Somewhere between 10 and 12 clicks. Regardless of the fact that the rear spring is repeatedly used to the limit. However, this is probably not the best for the spring? Can I solve the problem with the maximum compression setting or do you think it would be necessary to replace the spring?

    • @everythingtenere
      @everythingtenere  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sasopeterlin3328 using the standard setting is just a recommended start point.
      But if you have to apply a lot of preload to achieve correct sag. Then I would go up in spring rate yea.
      Then again, the valving in the chock isn’t super good either.
      But first step would be a heavier spring imho

    Hello Marcus , Attention OFF the Road (OTR Performance Cologne) wanted to cheat me off. I saw the video from Motorcycle Adventures about new suspension, I am same like Pavlin as weight and height. Then I ordered the same springs and Motul oil like Pavlin from OTR Cologne and I asked if the springs could be exchanged from OTR for my fork and shock absorber and they said yes. I dismantled my forks and shock absorber and sent them to OTR Cologne by post. Then I wait long time and I make a lot of pressure for the work to be done, my forks and rear spring were returned like have new springs. Then I opened my package and in the package were the Motul oil from the fork in the original canister, not in the fork how was ordered and I look at my shock absorber and was not untouched, the spring was not exchanged. Then I measured the spring, I got the masses from Pavlin video, the OEM spring was 11.51 mm, then the spring was not exchanged, as i realized. OTR spring 90 N / mm with 12.98 mm thick as pavlin wrote was not on the rear spring, then it was clear to me. I called and asked what happened and they told me need to check. Then confirmed was not exchanged because they seen I had an idea about mechanics. I was in business and I spoke with the manager and he told me he doesn't care what other people do in their business. He tries to convince me with different lies like in kindergarten. Also, in the store no one seems to have a clue about the moto bike and what's going on in the shop with the orders. I won't buy anything from OFF THE ROAD again or recommend anyone.

    • @everythingtenere
      @everythingtenere  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasn’t aware that you could send in your suspension to OTR??, I only bought parts from them.
      Sorry you got that bad experience 🙈.
      I tend to do all the work my self, or go to a local suspension workshop that works with dirt bike/ Enduro suspension.
      They know it all.

    Hi Marcus, thanks for the good explanations. I am the travel guy looking forward to improve my riding skils. Installed the touratech extreme shock and heavier fork springs. Now the rider sag is perfect to 30% front and rear. Adjustibilty covers solo riding up to bike fully loaded. But as I am only 174 cm tall, the bike feels a little too high for me, so I think of lowering the bike by 2 cm with longer dog bones. But will that reduce the travel and would i need a stiffer spring? Thanks in advance and cheers.

    • @everythingtenere
      @everythingtenere  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will not reduce the travel, but it will change the workings in the rear a bit doe to a change in leverage. Softer or harder spring with mitigate it I do not know, but I think you do not feel to much, dimorphism very aggressive riding you might feel a change.
      But also lower the front a bit in the clamps.

    ¡¡Great video!! (also previous "one") hard to find people explaining so easily "suspensions world". Thanks a lot!
    By the way, I would like to ask you about the T7 WR suspensions. They say they are improved, and it seems they work better than the std. T7 (testers reviews). In previous comments, aparently, you have seen the 230mm KYB insides. Are they better suspensions? is the difference btw std and WR cost worthy at least for the suspensions upgrade? have you test the WR?
    Looking forward to read your answers!!
    Thanks a lot in advance and cheers from Barcelona!! 👍

    • @everythingtenere
      @everythingtenere  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man!
      The WR suspension is better than T7.
      Longer travel off course, as you said. But slightly larger OD piston. From 20 to 25mm I think, so on paper it’s for sure better.
      And the reviews comparing them, everyone says WR feels better suspension wise.

      As long as the attachment points are the same/fittings. Then I don’t see why not.
      WR carrridge is 25mm OD, so 5mm more.
      Caps looked a bit tidderent, but yea, hopefully.
      However, the Yamaha cost of a spare part probably isn’t to far off from a aftermarket cartridge, and the aftermarket ones have more features most of the time.
      Time will tell 😜
