After scourging Lordaeron, he takes the Scourge army & marches up to Quel’thalas slaying Sylvanas, Anasterian & corrupts the High Elves’ most prized possession (this whole war could be a movie in and of itself as we saw with the Warbringers Short). Again, I continue add the music in the background. Feel free to provide constructive criticism. Good, bad, too low, too high? Always willing to improve! I also love the “alliance of convenience” dynamic between the Lich King, Dread Lords & Legion and how each has its own agenda. This is also when Arthas & KT start to become BFFs! And I know Blizzard didn’t think much of Anasterian at the time, but he desperately deserved more screen time as the King of the High Elves.
I do have a question though, now that you mentioned "improvements" - do you have high or low hopes for the Warcraft Universe going into this new decade with Activision Blizzard still doing its thing :(

Yes...Kel'Thuzad...the necromancer with marginally higher stats than the ultra-frail, wet noodle hitting standard necromancer unit who can only do the standard Raise Dead spell that all other necromancers can do. This "project" is a money grab. 1. Bug riddled game with constant crashes, disconnections, voice/audio/song muting, black screens, instant defeat (previous bugs that were released as final product). Not sure if i missed some other bugs. 2. Poor/none communication with those who pre-orderd the game about final changes that will be implemented in the game as final. For example, most people in comment sections are telling that they pre-ordered the game cause of new cinematic cutscenes, like the one in Culling trailer. Activision/Blizzard failed to address the people how final cutscenes will look like. If they said from the start that this is HD upgrade, with recycled cutscenes, where nothing would change majority of us wouldn't mind. Instead they advertised those changes. 3. Speaking of changes here's some stuff they said/lied : New voices, New UI, New cinematic cutscenes, Revamped maps for campaing and single/multiplayer, more storylines for Sylvanas and Jaina. Of course all of it was a big lie and false advertisement cause none of it was delivered in a final product. But instead people get new EULA that claims your work. Anything you do with their world editor, anything at all, is Actiblizzards property. They don't want to miss new DOTA i guess. I dodged a bullet when i didn't pre-order the game.

Honestly compared to the baked potato Warcraft 3 was, this isn’t bad at all. I mean the sunwell was a freaking WATER FOUNTAIN in the original. The disappointment is Blizzard promised too much in 2018, and for whatever reason be it budget or time, couldn’t deliver and scrapped nearly every idea they had, aside from just upping the graphics. If it was advertised as just a higher res version of the original there wouldn’t be much outcry.
@@Athelarius nah there would be still outcry, considering how much they changed even for classic W3 without given a choice etc. They practicly destroyed classic W3 Multiplayer and almost all of the custom maps with their new terms of Service, not to mention the "Surrender of all Moral Rights" if you want to create custom maps
Oh I understand, I was mainly talking about the campaign. The only plus I can say is that graphically this is a bit of an improvement over the original's potatoeyness. But I cannot defend Blizz on anything else. There's just too much content cut, scrapped & controversy. I wonder if they'll add everything they promised at a later time. They seem quiet as of late.
He shares the same model with Detheroc We have a "Moss covered Granite Golem" but no model for Sen'jin, Zar'jira, Mephistroth, Anetheron, Anduin, Khadgar. Blizz's priorities are rather off

5:55 The Dreadlords lair interlude was one of my favorites from the original, because it showed (not told) how diabolic and menacing the dreadlords are. Now, without the death stare of Tichondrius in the end, the rats that came with the dreadlords, the slow running action, and the different camera pans that showed different sides of the model, it's just not as badass.
Arthas' responses are very interesting, as he does feel hatred towards Mal'ganis still, yet he serves the Scourge and has no soul... then he asks why does he hear ghosts... it is as if some sort of humanity was left within him, even though he may be damned... which makes it really heartbreaking.
wc3 legion invasions: lordaeron, dalaran and quelthalas left in ruins, destruction of a world tree and the imortality source of the night elves... legion invasion in legion: demons in a random island, they couldnt even destroy dalaran this time
10:36 i like how they changed this Legendary scene 's environment very differently from Reign of Chaos to match how they illustrated Warbringers:Sylvanas (th-cam.com/video/TVp7yLfnmrE/w-d-xo.html) 's scene where they intentionally put those bright yellow flowers surrounding her to turn dead dry when she transforms to really make this one and only scene very iconic.
If frostmourne was forged by the Lich King, and if the Dradlords are the Lich Kings jailers, and the Dreadlords work for Sire Denathrius, who works for the jailer, who has the Runecarver imprisoned, Who makes runeblades, Who could possibly be the Primus, who is the Leader of maldraxxus, then the Runecarver is THE Lich King.
I think what makes these reforged cut scenes stick out for me and overall gameplay as well is that since they updated the character models to look much more proportionally realistic, they don't fit into the rest of the scene any more. I mean the buildings are too cartoonish and goofy small for them now. By updating the models this well, they basically created a disconnect between them and the rest of the scenery in terms of proportion. It's hard to explain, but I think that's a big reason why I don't find it captivating any more, it feels out of place.
we have a fully epic lore RTS game, wish it would have continued like this instead of wow....imagine all the games we could have got :( quite a long saga i dare to say.

Well, I do think Arthas would just turn them into slaves. Remember Arthas is still human, just very very evil human, not mindless undead creature since Arthas never died
He just wanted the sunwell and he would very much not like to waste time while the lich king is growing weaker everyday, so he would just walk straight in and defile their most sacred place and then leave them to do what ever.
This type of Storytelling is what WOW urged for some time: Like a Conflict is happening and because of that a lot of "LOOSE ENDS" ARE CREATED for future expansions. We followed the "Let's destroy this evil guy that's almost always themed around an evil energy - type of expansion" for some time now, but this only stabilishes END Points.
I think BFA did exactly what was necessary for the story to continue! - We have Sylvanas and the Jailer now for aonther classic "lets kill this bad boy" expansion now! - Bwonsandi and Talanji "connection" just as this Kul'tiran "Death Druids" may link into Shadowlands importantly; - We have Tyrande as this Vengeful Moon-Warrior of Elune (This is the one I'm most excited for); - Loas, the "Life Aspects" were explored. Maybe they could be some more in the future; - We have Wrathion and the Dragon Aspects taking a stance again - Queen Azshara is MIA, for a obvious return in the future. - Horde and Alliance are in peace in a way they never were before, what will break it?.
We may be should have back the RPG elements back, like Prestige Classes or Something. If Sylvanas happen to got a very good point in her journey to the Jailer - I want to be able to follow her path as a DARK RANGER. Just like we had with Arthas and the Death Knight class. Just as Tyrande and her "Moon Warrior" Class too.
It is quite confusing how the dark duality of Ner'Zhul and Arthas works in the Lich King's entity. But, on WOTLK quests and a bunch of Warcraft books we may be more confused about his destiny. Part of Arthas was alive during the expansion, but he kinda killed it (correct me if I'm wrong, srsly, plz... I'm not sure). There was a struggle between Ner'Zhul and Arthas inside the crown and, as it looked in WOTLK end cutscene, that part may have come back to him on his death. Well... He is dead now XD
@@Heron11177 Just don't bother understanding this because it doesn't really make sense simply because the game is not aligned with novel properly. What i remember from when i tried understanding this: After Arthas defeats Illidan, he throws his heart out as it was drawing him back (his heart is considered his last vestiges of humanity) . He goes to merge with Ner'Zhul and the book tells something that there's a fight inside of him, having Ner'Zhul and the his human side both speaking to him and trying to attract him on each side. Arthas destroys his human side, Ner'Zhul smiles and feels triumphant for a second, after which Arthas stabs Ner'Zhul as well, as tells him that he will have all the power for himself. This just cancels the "Now we are one" thing after he puts helmet as he destroyed both shortly after xD. Throughout the expansion most of the characters refer to him as LK and not Arthas anymore. There was a line said by LK when you interract him for a quest if you are a shaman, something like: "Oh, you are a shaman, i was once a shaman as well" which is something Ner'Zhul would say, not Arthas but Ner'Zhul was destroyed so yea, you understand how this doesn't fit. You also have a quest with the Pulsing Crystal which is actually Arthas' frozen heart that was recovered by acolytes i think. You interact there with Mathias something, an anagram for Arthas Menethil, which is representing the remains of Arthas humanity but the quest ends with it being destroyed. When you defeat Arthas you get the talisman Jaina gave him a very long time ago with the description "He always kept it close to his heart" or something like this, and she points that Arthas kept that after all the time. Someone also mention that thanks to Arthas last remains of humanity the scourge was kept to not invade the world. TL DR: Arthas supposedly was no more a human but you keep finding clues that he still had humanity in him until the LK is defeated. Even the dialogue between Arthas and the spirit of his father is a proof that Arthas wasn't completely corrupted by Ner'Zhul and surely not destroyed so in theory there should have been a way to save him. The only kind of logic explanation i saw, given by a forum user a long time ago (don't remember his name): When Arthas gets Frostmourne and his soul is claimed by the frostmourne, Ner'Zhul creates an alter-ego of himself in Arthas (basically a 2nd Ner'Zhul inside Arthas mind to be able to control him) which at that point is a mix of Arthas and Ner'Zhul but slowly takes control of Arthas will and becomes more and more like Ner'Zhul. This kinda explains why Arthas still acts like being Arthas but with totally contradictory goals. This also would explain why in WotLK the LK acts as being Ner'Zhul and not Arthas anymore, as most of Arthas counciousness was removed with his heart and in the "confrontation" that happened after he got the helmet. The LK in the expansion is the 2nd Ner'Zhul that decided to destroy the original while the merge happened and replace him. NOTE: This is kind of a short version from everything i remember, you can read the novel and wikipedia yourself and decide for yourself what it happened. Hope this was helpful to understand a bit better this huge mess

Regardles of what everyone has to say, the story its beautiful and the lore is strong. This story was made back in the blizzard golden days and the story still holds very well :)

Part of me hopes they pull a Hello game here(No Man's Sky). That they invest time and money into actually giving us the game that was promised and remove that STUPID agreement But the other half of me knows better...
What is it with blizzard and wells? The sunwell is first a fountain, now it's some kind of waterfalls. The "Well" of eternity was a giant maelstrom. Do these people even know how wells work?

wow this is pretty damn cool i had never played this game before or even seen the cinematic i have only played WoW and its pretty awesome to see another side of sylvanas i had never seen before.
If Arthas just killed Sylvannas her soul wouldve been in torment inside Frostmourne all the way untill it was shattered. That wouldve been a worse fate than she suffered now... that is if Arthas truly wanted her to suffer
I hope that Blizzard brings in Christie Golden, new voice actors, adjusts the cutscenes and everything. Becasue what I see here is just a regret of what we did not get.
@@KiyokaMakibi Some of the lore is since WoW incompatible or already expanded upon in novels (Arthas: Rise of the Lich King is one such example). These additions and changes should be reflected in the reforged edition as was the plan from beginning.
And to think that w3s story all comes together in the big twist of ... well technically all of these characters from Arthas, Kel'Thuzas, Lich King, Sylvanas and even the Dredlords were all serving the same puppet master, but were fucking each other over for whatever reason. Because nothing says great writing like telling everyone that this dude called Zoval was fucking smart he was behind everyone, and yet he still needed this convoluted plot to keep his puppets in check.

Because they can't rebuild the entire game with hots engine (too many ressources in time and money needed) and the cinematic were made with the game engine. So, as they said multiple times before, they just uploaded to maximum graphics and new models with this engine (and the result is good imo)
Warcraft 3 reforged has been a major tears of depression after all the hype just to see it fall in front of my eyes. Warcraft 3 has been my childhood game and later to see the future, it ruined.

Its laziness / lack of budget. Thats why some portions of the map look amazing, but others look like a high res version of the previous game.

Old design Kel'Thuzad is still cooler because of the way he speaks complete sentences in one open mouth while cold icy air comes out of it.
Arthas' responses are very interesting, as he does feel hatred towards Mal'ganis still, yet he serves the Scourge and has no soul... then he asks why does he hear ghosts... it is as if some sort of humanity was left within him, even though he may be damned... which makes it really heartbreaking.

I think what makes these reforged cut scenes stick out for me and overall gameplay as well is that since they updated the character models to look much more proportionally realistic, they don't fit into the rest of the scene any more. I mean the buildings are too cartoonish and goofy small for them now. By updating the models this well, they basically created a disconnect between them and the rest of the scenery in terms of proportion. It's hard to explain, but I think that's a big reason why I don't find it captivating any more, it feels out of place.

He just wanted the sunwell and he would very much not like to waste time while the lich king is growing weaker everyday, so he would just walk straight in and defile their most sacred place and then leave them to do what ever.

This type of Storytelling is what WOW urged for some time:
Like a Conflict is happening and because of that a lot of "LOOSE ENDS" ARE CREATED for future expansions.
We followed the "Let's destroy this evil guy that's almost always themed around an evil energy - type of expansion" for some time now, but this only stabilishes END Points.
I think BFA did exactly what was necessary for the story to continue!
- We have Sylvanas and the Jailer now for aonther classic "lets kill this bad boy" expansion now!
- Bwonsandi and Talanji "connection" just as this Kul'tiran "Death Druids" may link into Shadowlands importantly;
- We have Tyrande as this Vengeful Moon-Warrior of Elune (This is the one I'm most excited for);
- Loas, the "Life Aspects" were explored. Maybe they could be some more in the future;
- We have Wrathion and the Dragon Aspects taking a stance again
- Queen Azshara is MIA, for a obvious return in the future.
- Horde and Alliance are in peace in a way they never were before, what will break it?.
We may be should have back the RPG elements back, like Prestige Classes or Something.
If Sylvanas happen to got a very good point in her journey to the Jailer - I want to be able to follow her path as a DARK RANGER. Just like we had with Arthas and the Death Knight class.
Just as Tyrande and her "Moon Warrior" Class too.

This is gonna turn into some dragonball bullshit where nobody is really dead crap.
It is quite confusing how the dark duality of Ner'Zhul and Arthas works in the Lich King's entity. But, on WOTLK quests and a bunch of Warcraft books we may be more confused about his destiny. Part of Arthas was alive during the expansion, but he kinda killed it (correct me if I'm wrong, srsly, plz... I'm not sure). There was a struggle between Ner'Zhul and Arthas inside the crown and, as it looked in WOTLK end cutscene, that part may have come back to him on his death.

@@Heron11177 Just don't bother understanding this because it doesn't really make sense simply because the game is not aligned with novel properly. What i remember from when i tried understanding this: After Arthas defeats Illidan, he throws his heart out as it was drawing him back (his heart is considered his last vestiges of humanity) . He goes to merge with Ner'Zhul and the book tells something that there's a fight inside of him, having Ner'Zhul and the his human side both speaking to him and trying to attract him on each side.
Arthas destroys his human side, Ner'Zhul smiles and feels triumphant for a second, after which Arthas stabs Ner'Zhul as well, as tells him that he will have all the power for himself. This just cancels the "Now we are one" thing after he puts helmet as he destroyed both shortly after xD.
Throughout the expansion most of the characters refer to him as LK and not Arthas anymore. There was a line said by LK when you interract him for a quest if you are a shaman, something like: "Oh, you are a shaman, i was once a shaman as well" which is something Ner'Zhul would say, not Arthas but Ner'Zhul was destroyed so yea, you understand how this doesn't fit.
You also have a quest with the Pulsing Crystal which is actually Arthas' frozen heart that was recovered by acolytes i think. You interact there with Mathias something, an anagram for Arthas Menethil, which is representing the remains of Arthas humanity but the quest ends with it being destroyed.
When you defeat Arthas you get the talisman Jaina gave him a very long time ago with the description "He always kept it close to his heart" or something like this, and she points that Arthas kept that after all the time. Someone also mention that thanks to Arthas last remains of humanity the scourge was kept to not invade the world.
TL DR: Arthas supposedly was no more a human but you keep finding clues that he still had humanity in him until the LK is defeated. Even the dialogue between Arthas and the spirit of his father is a proof that Arthas wasn't completely corrupted by Ner'Zhul and surely not destroyed so in theory there should have been a way to save him.
The only kind of logic explanation i saw, given by a forum user a long time ago (don't remember his name): When Arthas gets Frostmourne and his soul is claimed by the frostmourne, Ner'Zhul creates an alter-ego of himself in Arthas (basically a 2nd Ner'Zhul inside Arthas mind to be able to control him) which at that point is a mix of Arthas and Ner'Zhul but slowly takes control of Arthas will and becomes more and more like Ner'Zhul. This kinda explains why Arthas still acts like being Arthas but with totally contradictory goals. This also would explain why in WotLK the LK acts as being Ner'Zhul and not Arthas anymore, as most of Arthas counciousness was removed with his heart and in the "confrontation" that happened after he got the helmet. The LK in the expansion is the 2nd Ner'Zhul that decided to destroy the original while the merge happened and replace him.
NOTE: This is kind of a short version from everything i remember, you can read the novel and wikipedia yourself and decide for yourself what it happened. Hope this was helpful to understand a bit better this huge mess

Regardles of what everyone has to say, the story its beautiful and the lore is strong. This story was made back in the blizzard golden days and the story still holds very well :)

The sunwell is first a fountain, now it's some kind of waterfalls. The "Well" of eternity was a giant maelstrom. Do these people even know how wells work?
They should've made a cutscene that Sylvanas was screaming hurting Anasterian's ear drum and arthas kills him.

@@KiyokaMakibi Some of the lore is since WoW incompatible or already expanded upon in novels (Arthas: Rise of the Lich King is one such example). These additions and changes should be reflected in the reforged edition as was the plan from beginning.

And to think that w3s story all comes together in the big twist of ... well technically all of these characters from Arthas, Kel'Thuzas, Lich King, Sylvanas and even the Dredlords were all serving the same puppet master, but were fucking each other over for whatever reason. Because nothing says great writing like telling everyone that this dude called Zoval was fucking smart he was behind everyone, and yet he still needed this convoluted plot to keep his puppets in check.

Because they can't rebuild the entire game with hots engine (too many ressources in time and money needed) and the cinematic were made with the game engine. So, as they said multiple times before, they just uploaded to maximum graphics and new models with this engine (and the result is good imo)
