A lady at the Maytag store here told me that a stinky washer was because of liquid soap.....she told me to switch to powder and yep!!!! Totally fixed our problem!
Kudo’s to you and your family for having a chore list and paying your kids to teach them about money. The areas we did not pay them for was their bedrooms and laundry- they all had to do their laundry at 10 years old and maintaining the cleanliness of their bedrooms were on their shoulders though we had a deadline each week to have their rooms cleaned, usually by midnight on Thursday so if we wanted to take a long weekend to camp or go to the city for the weekend, or they wanted to hang with friends during the weekend, this was a mandatory to do item; if I or their dad had to tell them, not remind them, to clean their rooms or do their laundry, we docked their paid chores. We also taught them to cook and by 14, they had to plan, shop and prepare a nutritious dinner for the family- each rotating once per week- we gave them a budget, took them shopping for the items they needed and then, with me or my husband hovering in the background, they made the meal from start to finish- this taught them healthy meal planning and budgeting and staying within the budget. The kids then started to challenge each other on who could come in under the allotted budget and when they did that, we encouraged by letting them keep the saved money for their own use. As they earned money, we had 3 requirements- savings, giving and spending- 40% to savings, 10% to giving and 50% to spend. As for your washer- I found that powders, fabric softener or scent additives tend to build up in and around the dispensers and also under the gaskets of the doors; I also do a self clean once a month and pull the gasket away to pull hair and gunk from that and the soap dispenser out and wipe down and dry and cleaning the bottom filter and small water line by the filter (like you did)- by using only laundry pods and vinegar for rinsing, and monthly cleaning, I have stopped the residual smell and mold- but I LOVE you using the steamer to clean- great idea!!!! Instead of Affresh, I use powdered citric acid and bleach for my self clean cycle, it does the same but costs less (I also use the citric acid to descale my drip coffee maker, Keurig and electric kettle). Between my laundry set and my fridge and upright freezer- there is nothing more satisfying than doing a through clean of them quarterly.
Happy to hear you are on the mend. I think your chore list is spot on. You all live together in your space and everybody should have a responsibility to help out. Raising responsible humans, good job!
Wow, scary situation with your throat! Glad you're doing better. We have it a bit differently here in that my husband and I are raising a grandchild. I know that's really common anymore, but William is quite the young man about town! We get a lot of support from extended family, so he's very often not here more than 2-3 days at a time per week, which is super helpful because I work full time still, I'm a GM for Visionworks, and I work a retail schedule. I usually just have him help me with bigger chores when he is here. He's not been great about keeping his room tidy, so that's what we're working on right now.
This is probably not really relevant in terms of chores today, but when I was growing up I lived on an almost 500 acre farm in small town northern Minnesota. My mom worked full-time and my dad obviously had a lot on his plate with farm work. During the school year I was responsible for all of the inside household type chores (with the exception of cooking ~ although I did bake because I actually enjoyed doing that). Plus I obviously had to clean my room. So everything from doing the dishes, laundry, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning the bathroom, etc. During the summer I had more free time so I had to do all of the above mentioned chores plus I also had to weed the garden (I had to go down and weed 1 row every single day), mow the lawn, help with cleaning animal pens, and I also had to help with some of the feeding and watering of the animals (cats, dog, chickens, pigs, and any other random animals that might come along ~~ my dad took care of the cows). So as you can see, there was a lot to do and I lived there so I was expected to do my part. And yes, I did get an allowance.
Glad you're well! I feel good with your videos, they bring me a joy that I can't explain.explicar.I'm very sick, leaving the house little and they make me feel like I'm visiting you. Thank you very much❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
So glad you’re feeling better Tiffany, take care and let yourself heal. I had a front loader (everyone warned me, but I’m hard headed) & no matter what I did it was awful! I even cleaned the rubber well in the door (tiny holes) with pipe cleaners & wiped it dry when done washing. When we moved into our new build I bought a top loader & I will NEVER go back! I love the looks of them but they’re way too high maintenance for me! 😂
Oh no! I’m so sorry and glad to hear you are feeling better. My son in college went through this a couple weeks ago and he got antibiotics for strep and then got a rash from the antibiotics and had to go back. He still has the rash but it is getting better. I guess it can be a side effect and not a allergic reaction, but it could be that too. It seems scary to get sick theses days. 🧡🙏🏻 The washer issue is a problem with the front loaders. You really do have to clean the regularly. Also using vinegar in the wash is great, it cleans your washer and helps with orders in your clothes. Fill your rinse area of the washer with vinegar and let it run through. To do a good interior clean put vinegar in a cycle and run the washer on hottest setting. You can also look it up on line. Your tips are great too!
Wow, so glad you're feeling better! That must've been scary for you. I'm paying my son $11 per hour (same as his job at the local grocery store) to help me declutter our house. I was in the hospital for 3 month following a brain aneurysm, so our house got pretty messy while I was away.
Oh my Tiffany, so glad you are on the mend, it must have been pretty stressful for you and your family. I’m thinking you need to take a good long spell of pampering yourself before spring & summer really hit, you’re gonna need to be full of energy, your body is gonna need recovery time from such a serious infection … take care 😊
Another great video! Since you asked about chores we have our kids do, here goes! My three girls are grown and gone now, but they all had chores growing up. Each one did their own laundry, the oldest was 12 and the second one 8 when we started this. The youngest was 2, so I did hers until she was 7 or 8. My husband also did his laundry. I still did the family’s towels and sheets. Each girl was responsible for keeping their rooms clean and beds made. Other chores, on a rotating basis, included kitchen cleanup after supper, vacuuming, and dusting. My middle daughter started her daughter off with picking up her toys and putting them away and unloading the dishwasher. My oldest daughter married in to a ready made family, and her husband did not think his child should have household chores. His take: school is her job. My daughter did eventually bring him around to her way of upbringing! I am a firm believer in children having age appropriate chores. Mom isn’t always going to be there to do everything for them. Teach your child these life skills!
Good morning sunshine! I'm so sorry you were ill! I knew your voice was bad bud I haven't been on Instagram as I have been taking care of my daughter since her knee replacement. I'm so grateful you're feeling better Sweetie! I knew you hadn't been on , but like I said been so busy! I've heard a lot of people say that have those washers that they smell and you have to dry around those rubber seals when you finish washing or they start smelling. I just have a plain Jane! 😂🤣😂 As ALWAYS my sweet friend another satisfying motivational video! 🐇🤍🐰
Glad you are feeling better! Well, watching the video about cleaning your washing machine. You also need to make sure to leave the drawer opened where the laundry detergent goes. Plus that needs to be cleaned out. It probably has a section where you can pick up and that will be quite disgusting. Glad that you’re feeling better. Hope you are relaxing.
Oh Love...so sorry to hear about your recent hospitalization...how scary for you. Hopefully this little story will make you smile: so I H.A.T.E the treadmill especially the last 30 mins...I ALWAYS look for your videos to get through that last bit. I won't let myself watch yours until the end...works every time and I actually enjoy the last 30 mins...so thank you!!! As usual your video was lovely...please take care...we will be here when you are better!!!❤
Im so happy you're feeling better. Tonsils are hard. Also if you use fabric softeners it can gunk up your lint trap. Rinse it off and if the water doesnt go through it its time for a clean. Dawn dish soap and hot water
So glad to see you are feeling better. If I may offer a suggestion I believe when you restock your paper towels it would be easier to lift the bottom roll up and slide one underneath ❤
Sorry to hear you were sick. I cannot even imagine the pain you were in. I had strep once in my life and that is one time too many!! I just have to say again how much I enjoy your channel, more so than the others that I subscribe to. There's just something different about yours that doesn't make it feel like the same thing over and over, even though it kind of is. I hope that doesn't sound horrible. I just love hearing your stories and you're so down to earth. I hope your channel continues to grow and grow because you truly deserve it.
I feel you on the wet hair, I gag just thinking about pulling a big stringy clump of hair out of a drain. So many cleaning channels feel they have to hold it right up to the camera. 🤢
I had a machine like you have. It was a beautiful candy apple red with all the bells and whistles. My clothes kept getting a weird smell and I thought it was laundry detergent. I cleaned my machine regularly and took good care of it. The repairman came out about every three months at a huge expense. The machine was a water saver and didn't use appropriate water versus clothes. It was so expensive and pretty. But that was it. Had to get rid of it and bought a machine with a agitator and haven't had the problem since. The drum also wasn't spinning like most machines do. Will never buy another like that again.
They sell washing machine cleaner as well. I think it's called "refresh". You just put a tablet in with an empty washer and it removes build up. Glad your feeling better!
I’m glad you’re home and feeling better ❤ I would love to see what you put in your kiddos Easter baskets, if that’s something you’d be willing to share!
So glad you are feeling better! It's so weird that you said you smell cigarettes at times, so do I and nobody here smokes. It's the strangest thing. We live in New Jersey so East Coast as well. I can't figure it out. So glad that you are feeling better, take it easy. ❤️🙏
Tiffany glad you r better 😘 tide has a washing machine cleaner you can add to your washer once a month not sure if you ever tried it ? Great tip on that hose to empty at the bottom of washer !
Good morning Tiffany, happy to hear your feeling better, love this video was actually ironing curtains while watching. I like that steam cleaning tool you had where was it purchased?
Hi Tiffany, Im glad you are feeling better. I have a front load washing machine. I keep a micro fiber cloth on top of my washing machine so i can wipe down the inside door and the gasket. I do this every time i do a load of laundry. That way it stays clean. I also run it on clean cycle about once a month. Just an idea for you.
Tiffany , Tiffany ! You put my fridge and pantry to shame lol ! Such an inspiration to redo it all !! I need a new fridge mines a shameful eye sore ! My pantries are so deep , I don’t like them . Too hard to organize and see everything ! I’m going to figure out a way to organize . I love your containers and bins . So nice 😘TFS👍
Hope you feeling better miss tiffany , my son had it to , we let it removed 2 months ago and i mus say i taught he would be in pain , but after 3 days he was running around and eating alot of ice cream , but he did get sick everytime from it . Thats reason why we let it removed. they where so big like two balls. First time we went they did not see nothing , but than he got really sick and we went back again , you could see them clearly and so big
Tney also sell @ Home Depot something like what you put into your washer machine for your dish washer. You can do it without dishes in it or with and empty dishwasher. I do it every so often on my dish washer but never my washer. It makes sense to have to clean these appliances every so often especially all that use they get.
When my daughter was in school, my husband and I decided she didn't need to work. We felt school was a full time job. And you have to work pretty much the rest of your life. We did give her a monthly allowance so she would start to learn money management.
Happy Sunday Tiffany, I'm sorry to hear you were sick, I don't have instagram but so glad you are doing better🙏❤ Where is the steamer from can you link it please?

Glad you're ok
Great motivation Tiffany glad your feeling better. Have a great week 💕
To get rid of the smell just leave it open after use for about an hour, that give the machine time to dry out also.
Happy to hear you feeling better and back to what you love to do!!!! can you say what you use in the spray bottle to clean your refrigerator out with
Happy Sunday Tiffany, I'm sorry to hear you were sick, I don't have instagram but so glad you are doing better🙏❤

Actually you’re supposed to drain the washer every two weeks and leave the door open and top where you put detergent open so mildew doesn’t get in the washer
Hey Tif…is that a stovetop griddle on your stove? If so, did it come with the stove? Would love to know where you got that!
