Do you NEED a cabinet for the Ox? Can you just go from a amp head into the Ox, then the Ox's line output straight to an audio interface, speaker monitors, and PA system?
Hi, I'm interested in the ox box, all the demos are very convincing and everything looks great. I have a question if after the installation everything works well or if there are problems that the computer needs to be fixed again for it to work. This is the only thing that worries me because my big problem is that after they come to install the ox for me, problems will start that I have to deal with. Because I'm really not good at working with a computer, I'm pretty analog. Thank you
So I’m not fully following your question, but im going to try and answer it. 1. The ox is very much an analog style device if you are using it just as the attenuator, Plug it in properly as shown in the video and its an awesome attenuator. 2. Yes, i am plugged into the amplifier, the ox is between the amp and the speaker (where you usually would just have a speaker cable connecting the head to the cab). Hey, Thanks for the video, I search for information about this product which I just can't understand yet, Can I connect the OX only AMP like Mesa Boogie 25 to record through a DI without a speaker connected at the back? Is there a way to bypass the Speaker section if I just wanna use the AMP Head? I can't figure out the logic of connecting speaker if I just wanna use the head and their program emulating different cabinets ?
all the speaker option is for is that you can hear it through your own speaker plus you can use the ox as an intinuator, this way you can crank your amp to get that pushed sound with the tubes glowing and keep the volume low (TOTALLY OPTIONAL)... if you just wanna use the software, you just plug the head into the ox and that's it (obviously you would have to make a connection to your interface but that's it) short answer = don't plug in a speaker, use the ox app to select your speaker and mics etc.. I’ve seen this a few times with my own unit... once i power down completely and power it up again it will work fine, you will also notice this through a daw as well with an audible noise... Just full shut down and flash up of everything and that has always solved the problem. If not it may be a grounding issue or something else. Hope this helps - Kevin

Ya unfortunately you need that separation in order to attenuate the amplifier or its gonna be crazy loud. You will need to convert your combo into a head or replace it with a head in order to use it with the ox, also it needs to be a tube head as solid state will damage the unit. The speaker out will allow you to hook it up to attenuate another speaker that you would hook into the ox but not the initial combo amp as that would stay at initial volume until you disconnect the speaker, this needs to be done properly or you will damage your amp as the load needs to be carried properly to the ox, i suggest a professional to do this for you. Hope this answers your question - Kevin
Yes, it is extremely important to turn the ox on first..... DON’T operate any tube amp without an output load such as a guitar speaker or OX. Using a tube amp without an output load can permanently damage the tube amp as well you will have a massive blast of sound that can damage your hearing - Kevin
Wifi only limits the app. You can still use the OX, if you want to use the app you’ll need to connect it wirelessly, not sure what your using but unless your running an old PC that is windows XP via early 2010’s and has no wireless capability ur computer is what sends the signal to the ox regardless of the initial connection… if you can set the signal for recognition on the back of the ox and download the ox app and it can receive wirelessly u will be fine but keep in mind you will have no internet access while using the app… sucks but it is what it is because ur exchanging your internet connection for the ox connections - Kevin
Do I need to use a speaker cable for line out of ox box to interface or will regular instrument cable work? I'm using universal audio arrow and only have xlr or 1/4 inputs on this interface.
LINE / MONITOR Outputs (21) The Left and Right LINE / MON outputs are for connecting OX to the analog line-level stereo inputs of studio monitors, a computer audio interface, or other audio equipment. Both ¼” jacks can accept balanced TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) or unbalanced TS (tip-sleeve) connections. OX’s front panel LINE OUT knob controls the level at these outputs. At the minimum position (0), the outputs are off. Note: Use only shielded line/instrument cables with these outputs. Don’t connect unshielded speaker cables here.

I can't figure out the logic of connecting speaker if I just wanna use the head and their program emulating different cabinets ?
all the speaker option is for is that you can hear it through your own speaker plus you can use the ox as an intinuator, this way you can crank your amp to get that pushed sound with the tubes glowing and keep the volume low (TOTALLY OPTIONAL)... if you just wanna use the software, you just plug the head into the ox and that's it (obviously you would have to make a connection to your interface but that's it)
short answer = don't plug in a speaker, use the ox app to select your speaker and mics etc..
Hope this answered your question

@@Crypticmaskguitar thank you! It did answer my question.
Hello tricrow studios, i have a question. i still hear a faint noise through the guitar speaker when the speaker level on the ox box is set to 0 . is this normal or is it an issiue. there are some pages who try to answer that question but no one seems to know exactly.
thx a lot for answering.
@@Crypticmaskguitar Hello Kevin, thx man. gounding issiues in case of the plug i m using or the speaker cables i use . i will try this out. THX a lot for your answer!!!
Great run through, I have a question if I may. I have a combo amp that only has an EXT.speaker jack. The cable from the speaker is wired straight into the amp 'head' . No internal spkr jack
Is that an issue and will I need to get another jack fitted if I buy the Ox? Thanks in advance
Hope this answers your question

@@Crypticmaskguitar thanks very much for the detailed answer, much appreciated 🙏
Does it really matter which one you turn on first OX or Tube Amp
Yes, it is extremely important to turn the ox on first..... DON’T operate any tube amp without an output load such as a guitar speaker or OX. Using a tube amp without an output load can permanently damage the tube amp as well you will have a massive blast of sound that can damage your hearing

Will this work with combo amps?...

What’s the best way to record with the OX BOX?

TriCrow Studios the interface have to be in the same rate sampler/bit or can be hight? Like 96k 32bit?
I don't have WiFi - How do I connect to my PC? I have ethernet
@@Crypticmaskguitar thanks Kevin, I'm going to get a WiFi PCI card - that should do the trick? Yeah
Yeah that should work
Do I need to use a speaker cable for line out of ox box to interface or will regular instrument cable work? I'm using universal audio arrow and only have xlr or 1/4 inputs on this interface.
LINE / MONITOR Outputs (21)
The Left and Right LINE / MON outputs are for connecting OX to the analog line-level
stereo inputs of studio monitors, a computer audio interface, or other audio equipment.
Both ¼” jacks can accept balanced TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) or unbalanced TS (tip-sleeve)
connections.
OX’s front panel LINE OUT knob controls the level at these outputs. At the minimum
position (0), the outputs are off.
Note:
Use only shielded line/instrument cables with these outputs. Don’t connect
unshielded speaker cables here.
Огромное человеческое спасибо!
I’m just trying to connect from a tube amp. But there aren’t any videos on how to? Jesus
Full hookup of your amplifier head is shown and explained in this video, amp head plugs into red jack and your speaker if you have one plugs into the speaker jack all other external connections are explained as well in video, i hope the video helps you with hooking up your UA OX, its an awesome piece of gear - Kevin
