Curtis was a solid player for the Pistons - but the Celtics was a different story. I remember Howard Porter of Villanova taking care of him and Sidney Wicks in the 1971 NCAA Title game. Porter was the MOP of the tournament and had 25 points to Curtis' 6 and Wicks 8.
Howard Porter was a good friend of C.Rowe but he didn’t take care of them too much in that 1971 game because Villanova lost and UCLA won! UCLA always won! Not to mention Curtis and Sidney were All Americans with 3 NCAA titles!
@@cambigfellarowe Yes UCLA did Win the title ( thanks to Steve Patterson ) Porter tries but couldn't stop all 3 of their frontcourt players. I a'ways though Curtis was such a consistant player - never made mistakes during a game. But Howard Porter was unreal during the whole NCAA '71 run . I hope Curtis' son is well and healthy - he's a good guy .
I remember staying up until 3am to watch the tape delayed games

Poor Curtis is now only remembered as the washed up, lazy Celtics player that Bird replaced.
