- The U.S. Open of Surfing is a week-long surfing competition held annually during the summer in Huntington Beach, California. Carrying on the tradition of major competitive surfing at Huntington Beach since 1959, the Vans US Open of Surfing has evolved into one of the largest action sports festivals in the country.
In addition to surfing, the event includes world-class skateboarding and BMX competitions, movie premieres, retail and art exhibitions, and product demos and samples from action sport industry brands, including title sponsor Vans.

@@austinw2375 no, its on a dvd transferred from 8 mm . maybe ill post it for you . we parked on street walked down 12 foot cliff to get to the beach then, i remember a woody car parked there and some surf boards ten feet long . my dad worked the oil wells there i think not sure in 1953 i remember use to see oil globs once and a while there on the water beach

Nice vid and thanks for making and showing this!! but i must say (im from europe): soo many guys wear caps, i understand, because the most guys who doesnt wear it have very terrible grinchy outdated/oldfashioned haircuts compared to were im from, get ur trim up!! For the rest... very amazing how many show up for this event at this beautiful place! Keep it up WWTV!!!
