Chang’e-6 enters lunar orbit

According to the China National Space Administration (CNSA), the Chang’e-6 lunar mission has successfully performed a braking maneuver on 8 May 2024, at 02:12 UTC (10:12 China Standard Time), and entered into an elliptical lunar orbit around the Moon. The Chang’e-6 (嫦娥六号) mission aims to return samples from the far side of the Moon.

It’s not as if this is a first for Chinese…
They’ve been there dozens of times and, like everything else they do, the excitement had ran out of it already…
I doubt the CNSA, or Beijing, or the Chinese nation as a whole is seeking credit here. They are, simply, just out to reach a goal and that goal science and the cosmos.
My bet is this fanfare is geared towards pissing the Indians off cuz they knows the Indians can’t appear as playing second fiddles to the Chinese hence they are using it as a swipe on the Indians faces.
Bottom line: this sort of stuff is now just routines for the Chinese.
They have no need to brag or show off like Indians does.

2-3 days is normal for direct ascend.
Long March 5B is a powerful rocket

Powerful rocket gave spaceship enough speed. And the spaceship carries enough fuel to slow it down when it reaches moon orbit.
