    The French brought 2 great things to South East Asia, baguette and pate.
    The Vietnamese made it even better with cold cuts, barbecued pork, shredded pork, eggs, chicken, and some time pork rind.
    I do add avocado to my Vietnamese sandwiches.

    The baguette looked SO airy, crunchy, and delicious!! Honestly, I could eat it every day because of all the different textures it has. Couldn't get tired of it. Thank you for sharing!!! I want to visit, but I really despise the heat! Maybe I'll get over it some day. XD

    If you like Banh Mi French Baguette, it's one of many different types of foods in Vietnam, next time would you like to try" Com Tam" one of the national Vietnamese dishes. Thanks

    You know it's legit when all the locals are waiting around on their bikes for street vendor food! Literally the best meals I've had was just from walking around and finding random popular with local places.

    Correction: both people in the North and South of Vietnam use Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon interchangeably. As a Southern Vietnamese, I actually hear Northern people use "Saigon" more often than us. Anyway, when speaking with foreigners, the whole country use "Saigon" more often because it's shorter and thus easier in English, and we always use "Ho Chi Minh City" when mentioning address (literally nobody will say their address with "Saigon" as the city).

    When the North VietCong took over the South Vietnam they renamed Saigon to "HoChiMinh" City, but the South VN people refused to call it. Banh Mi in Louisiana -U.S cost $6 too expensive here.

    9:50 the mistake I see foreigners make is running across the streeet. DO NOT RUN across the street in SE Asia. You could litterally walk across the street with your eyes closed and you won't get hit although I wouldn't advise it. Just start walking and people will either speed up and go in front of you or they will slowdown and go behind you. you could put your hand up if you like. If they honk it means they are not going to stop and you should let them pass.

    We NEVER use cheese in our bánh mì. It’s butter.

      @EatingWithEmilio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah that's what i thought also...but this one was definitly more cheese consitency...unless it was very very very thick butter.

      Vietnamese called it bơ which means butter, but actually it is Vietnamese mayonnaise which made from yolk egg (not the whole egg) and veg oil. I am Vietnamese and own Banh Mi shop in Sydney, I can confirm this.

      It's just an immitation of big brother Russians. Even the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum in Hanoi was a replica of Lenin one at the Red square in Moscow. After Bolshevik revolution in 1917, those Bolsheviks renamed St.Peterburg city as Leningrad (Ленинргад ) Lenin city, Ргад means city in Russian. The same thing for Volgograd as Stalingrad. After the collapse of USSR they all went back to the old names. We all know that all communist states have a policy of leader cult. Nothing new really!
