Hey, the video content is really good, I'm enjoying the gameplay, but there's some problem with maybe the lighting that makes the bottom of the picture quite difficult to see. Especially when it comes to seeing what's in your hand. I noticed it in your previous video as well. Maybe there's something you can do about that for the next one to make the viewing a bit easier? I'm really enjoying the series, great idea for revisiting these older heroes and villains. As an idea for how to include the loss games, could you do a heavily edited short? Maybe just showing the highlights (or lowlights) of the lost game(s) and then how the actual loss came at the end? That could be a fun thing to release the day before the winning game play video, although it might be a lot effort to edit.
Thank you so much for your comment and it is something I have noticed in recent videos as well. I need to invest in another "spotlight" to go into the top left corner (currently its just a table lamp) so that it can be brightened up. In terms of seeing my hand... that's on me and I just need to be more cognizant to hold my hand out for the camera to see and/or lay my hand on the table so there is a good view before I get playing. The latest episode I think I tried to make my hand more readable at times, it is just something I need to keep in mind during the recording. Thank you for the kind words about the series, I'm glad you're enjoying it! I really do like that idea about making a "lowlights" reel. I think I'll try doing something like that right after the conclusion of RoRS. Do a lowlight reel of all the losses in the series as a stand-in before starting Kang/GMW in the New Year. It'll give me a chill 2 week buffer for Christmas and New Years where I don't have to record content but still upload to the channel while spending time with family for the holidays!
I enjoy absorbing man. Yah he’s one of the easier villains but I love his mechanic that the longer you take the worse his cards can get over time. Great playthrough
Agreed, I think if he was designed today the delay counters would tie more into the scenario rather than just his environments and a few encounter cards. Creating a scenario that is meant to be rushed is a unique design space that not many villains occupy. If Absorbing Man was... well any harder he could occupy that space himself.
37:39 I think the main value for the Hawkeye Kate ally is less about how much damage she can do and more that she lets you use the card that you might not have otherwise been able to use. Like, she’s basically a resource sink. Similar to Plan B or machine man. That being said, I don’t think she’s that great but I think that’s how she’s meant to be used.
Yeah I think I realized that as well, I just used a bad comparison to possibly the best resource sink in the entire game. There are plenty of times on plenty of heroes where an extra resource turning into a damage could've been good. Just a question if it is BETTER than any other slot that ally could be.
It's pretty shady deciding what you did in AE after you have flipped then used a Hero ability that provides new information! 11:00 ish. Meanwhile you should really only play one arrow per turn. The opportunity cost of 3 damage to make a second shot is huge. You are generally better off doing something else with your resources than playing another arrow outside of very corner cases, like having to clear a some threat & several minions. I think Hawkeye is pretty well designed but just a little behind the curve. The discount you get on arrows isn't quite worth the cost of only playing one per turn (except Explosive which is great but very niche). The game would have been fine if this was the par level but as it's a bit higher he was never quite there. He does have needless annoyances like having to pay to fetch is bow. If his quiver were permanent, his bow was free on set up and he had an even that let him fire arrows without tapping his bow for a round he'd be pretty close to A (maybe)
I really like the analysis you left on Hawkeye and definitely agree stuff that you suggested to "buff" him. Getting his quiver and bow for basically free would be a much different and stronger hero imo. I do think he functions well just seems a tad underpowered, which is fine! On terms of the "slight cheat", the only thing that happened was the quiver activation, but like I was already debating on the recover before I flipped it. The new information really had no bearing on that whatsoever, but alas I called it a slight cheat regardless. Mockingbird double arrow was just a play I should've decided on before I did the recover imo. If I got a better arrow of the quiver, I wouldn't have allowed that takeback bc thats taking advantage of new information. Thanks for watching :)
Nice game. Hawkeye is one of my personal favourites heroes but he does take a little extra work to get running smoothly compared to some other heroes. FYI the Mockingbird allies are the same person so you can’t take the basic ally and she isn’t Hawkeye’s daughter but rather his partner, they were even married for a time.
@@ryangoodwin6411 That actually makes a ton of sense, I wasn't even thinking of the unique rule so I'm glad I didn't roll up with an illegal deck LOL. Also thanks for the lore fix, I definitely did not know that about Mockingbird even though that makes much more sense now...
