Finally, I've found a guitarist who actually teaches for students to really understand. Very well presented and easy to follow. No ego wannabe just a great teacher. Thanks Eddie.
Sir your videos keep opening up new possibilities, I have half of my pointer finger missing, Barring is difficult if not impossible at times the chord shapes are doable. Thanks for another Great Video
I only watched 2 of your vids, and I'm already jamming with myself...somehow your method broke the spells that I was bound to for years (and I mean literally years, since my teenage years!)...can't wait to watch your other vids dude! Can't thank you enough! IMMEDIATELY SUBSCRIBED!
Funny thing though...your lessons on chords and patterns are actually are stuffs that I already picked up before...it's not like I don't know the basic F-shape can be played in octaves to achieve other chords or Parallels lesson and your solo patterns in the other vid and so on...But it's so obvious that I somehow did not really understand how to implement them effectively like you've shown. Like I said, it's like a spell is broken. THANK YOU AGAIN!
Thanks Eddie for validating what I've been doing for years. I was always afraid that the guitar police would bust me for using these shorthand cool chord formations, but it turns out it's legal... AND encouraged. Thanks for the lesson.
Eddy you always bring something new for me to learn..For someone like me who is not into shredding but likes to put a little something over top of chord patterns this is very exciting.
He really is an amazing teacher for people who have no music background it has helped me learn so much that I already knew I just didn't know it if you understand that
Eddie you are hands down the best instructor on TH-cam! You teach in away beginners can grasp and try your concepts without feeling intimidated thanks!
Given me a lot to practice. I've been stagnant for years, but I decided to really take some time and work, and this and other lessons from GMM have been getting me out of the rut and into an intelligent way to learn and practice. Thanks.
Thanks Eddie. Very helpful after the rythme and leader course !!!!. In major key, the 2nd degree ( minor) in between the 2 different shapes of A major. In minor key the 7 degree ( major) in between the 2 minor shapes. I see it this way to be more understandable !!!!😊😊
I like it a lot. However, today, I don't play anything before looking the fret-board and see exactly what notes I'm going to play. It is not a question of memorization, but most of all, to identify what chords, what notes are there, what I'm really doing. So, I checked all your notes, and see that in reality you are doing a simple sequence of A- Bm- A, or D- Em- D or E- F#m- E when dealing with major chords (which are all part of harmonic field of A: A Bm C#m E F#m G#0) and Am- B- Am for the minor ones. It seems very simple to follow now, when I already saw what is the basis from this parallel chords and shapes. Amazing idea. Thanks.
I like this. It seem I might be ables to use this to finally becomes interested in finally become good at guitar at an older age. Plus I was in some punk band in the '80's, and I not know how to play well, but man I was loud and I had leather jackets and drank beers and played fast but not so good. This is why I like this and your videos are of make interest and will watch more thank you and God bless.
Great lesson, thank you. I also use Band in a Box to create quick grooves and chord progressions to play in any key. It's fun to play the material in these lessons to an actual groove with other instruments.
Thanks so much! I’ve been wanting to learn triads for years. But it always seemed to complicated but I loved the way it sounds. This is basically a triad lesson, so thanks again!
You guys are awesome. Your tutorials are very simple to understand and they are very detailed, also you often shows some tricks and tips that makes my guitar learning process incredible fast! Thank you for your help, keep updoing the good job!
I have always been a believer that you do not have to get all sophisticated to make beautiful music. This guy just proved it. Listen . Learn. If you are not having fun when you play. Its not worth it. Do something you love and you will never work a day in your life.
Fabulous, thank you! Been studying string sets, and pounding my head with "learning the fretboard." Whew, need to get simple and get some sweet rhythm in my practice. Thanks again.
Hey bro, im a begginer and got stuck in the same place until I found your videos. I'm excited to play again, and my game is getting better because of you. Your a Rockstar bro, thank you, subbing 🍻
GMM is the best program I've found, and I have enrolled into several programs. If you want to progress in your guitar playing, GMM is the place you're going to find it, great group, enjoyable, learning. I can't say enough about GMM, I've improved after 40 years of trying on my own I've progressed more in 1 week with GMM.
Really appreciate the lesson! I got confused, but in the major progression, isn't it essentially 1. Amaj triad 2. Bmin triad 3. Amaj triad? and in minor 1. Amin 2. Gmaj 3. Amin?
If we’re playing an Em shaped barre chord at the 7th fret then is that not a Bm also?. Apologise is there a link to a previous lesson where I’ve missed what’s going on?
@@stevensnowdon6270 I got confused as well you are correct, playing the e min shape at the 7th fret was a B minor. I thought he was playing all A triads but I guess not. He used the 2nd chord in the key of A in between playing the As thus the B minor in between. Along with that the e minor shaped triad looks like the A major cages triad only that one is strings 2-4. Takes practice, practice, practice
I took the survey back in Feb. and I still have not gotten answer back. So I've stayed focused and I try something different each day before I go back . Noe I'm waiting on my DVD Fret board maid EZ. Hmmmm? I'll see . Thank You for this lesson it is for sure a nice Plus to add to my fret board
To sounds more jazzy we could play the A, Bm, Am or C as the way you showed us with just playing the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strings...thank you for this fantastic idea to play with...
Just stumbled upon your lesson. very cool. understandable, slow enough to learn. Pleased and will watch many more. you are a very good teacher, Eddie. Thanks.
This is actually what Dean DeLeo does in Interstate Love Song after the iconic riff. He walks up the Emaj, Fm/E (with high B and E strings open of course) and then Emaj again except different voicing.
I'm finding this lesson keeps showing me where to go for the chords I'm playing in by using the chord parallels. Thanks again Eddie! I always learn more every time I watch your videos. No matter how many times I have seen them.
Thanks Eddie, you have just shown me the right way to play something I have been trying. Now I have heard it played well and seen it I think I've got it sorted.
Excellent lesson. Basic straight forward concept, but takes the rhythm/lead to the next level. Great pearl of knowledge! 😃👍🏻👍🏻 💙⚡️🎸⚡️❤️ Thanks Man!!! 😉✌🏻

Finally I can move up and down the fretboard with ease and within a key ,great teacher God bless you.
This is basically a triad/slash chords lesson. The triad are fun to play as we can use inversions to create different voicings for the same chord.
Yeah , what he said .
It's great to run through a tuner to when you're sliding the cords up you can see what keys you're in..
One of those lessons that helps you move out from a rut at the same time spices up your playing... Gold! Thanks....
WOW!!!!! THANKS, AGAIN, EDDIE, FOR THIS VERY HELPFUL LESSON!!! MUCH APPRECIATED!!! THESE SOUND MUCH LIKE "REGGAE" MUSIC CHORDS...
You deliver seriously good useful information in simplistic easy to utilize fashion. I am fan forever and TY for just sharing.

I kind of accidentally discovered this in my practising a couple yrs ago.....great video man...rock on
In the A major example the bar in the 3 fiist strings of the seventh fret is B minor and not A minor.
Regardless of what shapes are being used, why would Bm be considered to be okay to substitute over an A chord?
@@scooperjs the Bm is in the key of A major and is just a transition between the two A major chords
METALFURY great. Thanks. I guess you should have explained it that way. Now it makes sense.
Really doing wonders for my guitar playing confidence and practical application, Eddie 🤞
