    Let me clarify one of the important point missed. The apple dongle type C variant is much different from the lightening variant in terms of power and overall output. To put in perspective with my DT770 80 ohms I have to put the volume level to 100% while using the apple lightening dongle whereas for the same level of sound I need to drive it to only 60% while using the apple USBC dongle. Even the soundstage & the bass response improves to the level which can easily compete to DACs costing nearly 5k. Also android do decrease the power of the usbC variant but you can use apps like UAPP to redirect the output from the DAC instead of android resampling engine.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Hey there, thank you for providing further insight into the comparison between the Apple dongle's Type C and Lightning variants in terms of power and overall output. It appears that the Type C variant offers notable advantages, particularly in driving headphones like the DT770 80 ohms. The significant difference in volume levels required for comparable sound, as well as improvements in soundstage and bass response, showcase the capabilities of the Apple USB-C dongle. Additionally, you mentioned the possibility of Android reducing the power of the USB-C variant but highlighted the use of apps like UAPP to redirect the output from the DAC, bypassing the Android resampling engine. It's valuable information for those seeking to optimize their audio experience. Thank you for sharing your observations and shedding light on this aspect.

    Hi, I'm using Mi 11x which doesn't have a 3.5mm jack so I'm looking for a dongle. I tried 3 or 4 different dongles like kinsound, oneplus etc from Amazon but they all get disconnected while using if I move my phone (don't know if it's the problem of the dongle or my phone). I'm looking forward to buy the Abigail dongle but I'm not sure if it's gonna do the same.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey there! It sounds like a bit of a tech mystery. 😕 If multiple dongles are facing disconnection when you move your phone, it might be worth checking if the USB connector on your phone is loose. As for the Abigail dongle, it's known for its stable connection, but it's always a good idea to ensure the phone's USB port is secure too. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Here's to seamless audio adventures! 🎧🔌

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      A couple of things are different. The build quality and cable quality of he Headphone Zone X DDHIFI Hi-Res DAC is just at another level all together. But the power output is the biggest difference-65mW. The Headphone Zone X DDHIFI Hi-Res DAC has a dedicated amplifier in built, that the Abigail Pro doesn't. So you can really amp the Headphone Zone X DDHIFI Hi-Res DAC up, and the headphones and IEMs sound a lot fuller, and more effortless.

Abigail acts as a transformative force, bestowing upon you a heightened audio experience that transcends ordinary boundaries. With its remarkable capabilities, Abigail unlocks a new dimension of sonic richness and immersion. Therefore, if you yearn for an enhanced audio journey filled with unparalleled brilliance, Abigail may be a worthy addition to your repertoire. However, the final decision rests with you, as you determine the path to sonic perfection.

    good measurements and good sound are often two different things. In the grand scheme of things the apple dongle is only slightly better than a regular phone output (sound). Never heard ,,abigail,, but comparing ,,abigail pro,, to the apple dongle, there is no competition in actual sound fidelity. Apple dongle is harsh and congested, while abigail pro is smooth organic and big sounding. I recon that abigail pro is just slight upgrade to the OG abigail so the OG abigail should also destroy the apple dongle.

    • @headphone_zone

      Hey there, You're spot on! Measurements can provide valuable data, but the listening experience can be subjective. It's interesting to hear your comparison between the 'Abigail Pro' and the Apple dongle, highlighting the differences in sound quality. Your perspective on the 'Abigail Pro' and its likely improvement over the original 'Abigail' in comparison to the Apple dongle is insightful. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!

      @@headphone_zone thank you. What will good measurement of the apple dongle get you? Well it audibly sounds clean (But TBH in many measurements u cant even hear a difference). But when it comes to real audio experience apple dongle can sound muddy in the bass, it can have harsh lower treble and layering and separation is poor for me. For 10bucks it is sufficient and better than a regular phone. Its highlit is clean sound...

      Hey there, the performance and capabilities of Apple adapters can vary based on regional variations and regulations. While it's true that there may be differences in the power output or other specifications between adapters designed for different regions, it's important to note that Apple typically designs its adapters to meet the specific requirements and standards of each market. This ensures compliance with local regulations and optimal performance within the given region. Therefore, the perceived differences in performance between adapters from different regions may be due to specific design choices made by Apple to cater to the needs of each market.
