early in the game, I had just fused my leanan sidhe in order to get a stronger demon, and as I was walking around I encountered a mitama. After using a spyglass I found that the mitama's weakness was darkness, so I looked through my items only to find that I didn't have any darkness shards or gems. Next I looked through my demon stock only to remember that I fused my leanan sidhe, my only demon who knew mudo. Mitamas are pesky little things indeed.
Fun fact: late game when you have to hunt the three gods for the throne u get access to the place where u can fight Seth through a side quest from a dominion. There is a crap ton of mitama there and that’s a good mitama farm.
@@s1ber1anstorm41 I actually went back and looked and realized I completely forgot about the Seth fight lol. I plowed right through it with 0 difficulty 😂
I'm at that part right now, think it's worth noting that they're all lvl 10. So the xp you get is gonna be shit, but if you focus on the reds you'll be able to stack grimoires for free lvls.
In the second major area an abscess gives you access to the miracle “knowledge of tools” that allows your demons to use items meaning you can use spy glass to scope out mitama if you have an encounter with more than one and don’t want to guess at their weakness Excellent video
There is a third way to encounter Mitamas. Your navi demon (Amanozako or whoever for the chapter) will find you treasure spots. This can be an item, but sometimes you get ambushed. So far in my game, that ambush has never failed to have at least one Mitama. Usually it is just one Mitama, but sometimes it is a Mitama with other demons, too. Also, Mitamas don't always escape. If you encounter a set of 4, and fail to kill any of them, one will always stick around and cast Debilitate. Otherwise, there is a small chance that they will cast Debilitate instead of fleeing. The Spyglass method is good, but against a group of four, it only guarantees three kills. If you are grinding Mitamas, a better strat is to just have three high magic demons + MC with Megido. For most of the game, four shots of Megido (or better Megidola if you have the Essences) will kill the Mitamas. They are resistant to Almighty, but it does hurt them. The issue with this strategy is it takes a lot of MP, even if your Almighty affinities are high.
For the early part of the game if you grab a preta and unlock life drain you can farm early for some macca. Life drain is a healing attack that they have no defense from.
Also around level 30, black ooze has life drain plus 3 (or 6) (and he has partial resist against physical which may come in handy). No spyglass needed, of course.
I have personally tested this and its not the best. due to the resistance to almighty, you can't one shot them unless you are over leveled not to mention its shit against groups. If memory serves, the soonest you can get Megido is lvl 33 as thats when you can fuse Thoth who learns it naturally. You'll also need concentrate and a decent magic stat to push past that resistance. It may be a waste but I prefer to scan it when theres only one and just toss random shards at groups and hope I'm lucky.
Early in the game you can use a combination or spy glasses and either shards or gems to hit special weaknesses. Even if you encounter 4 you can kill 3 of them with hitting weaknesses.
The Spyglass item from Cadavers Hollow can help you figure out what the random weakness is for the Mitama. You just have to be a little lucky that one of your 3 demons has the coverage you need to one shot these guys.
I get why the weakness change. Just not sure I like it, in the current build. At least not without an identity ability. I'd definitely go with it if you could identity all at once with a spyglass or ability.
Get the knowledge of tools miracle, get some elemental gems. It's not too difficult to get 3 out of the 4 whenever you see this. Also there's a pierce ability skill that you can combo with a target-all move.
