I first saw Taj in '82/3? Adam's DC. I think PBRadio had a mobile truck outside, I was plugged in the board as usual & caught it all (as usual). Taj is a true ethnomusicologist {& as wrote 'eth' he started Stagger Lee!}. Last time I saw Taj, he introduced Bob Marley's Mom to the stage in Miami & I heard a good 3 Little Birds (Don't worry, I'm comin'..) ow! Post show, up at the backstage hang, I met Bob Marley's Mom (Cedella Booker) & one of the most gorgeous women in my life & trips around this Planet - one of Bob's Sisters! If God... kept it ✓
Love this man! Do your soul a favor, y’all. Check out Taj’s album, “Mo Roots”. Put Cajun Waltz on repeat and have another sip of wine. Take me away grapes!
Thanks for posting this, i used to have this on cd and i had forgotten just how good it was...so good to see the video too. Fabulous band and he sound so good...
He's a living legend, met him offstage at the Blue Note in Tokyo but I prefer his straight blues stuff off the first two albums, Taj Mahal and The Natch'l Blues. He started to go more folksy with the 3rd album and more Afro-Caribbean after that.
Excellent Taj,I've been listening to your music for years.
49k views and 40 comments is CRUEL..THIS MAN DESERVES BETTER..MUCH MUCH MORE😢 ❤ HIM AND HIS BAND..
