Super interesting explore James, the bluebells look lovely! It’s cool imagining what it once looked like lived the sirens in the background a little eery! Have a great weekend 👍
Hi James, you and your channel has pointed my wife and I to a few enjoyable walks/picnics, we've walked along the Frome river on many occasions around Vallis Vale but didn't know about this Hill Fort, thanks to you it's now on our to do list. Paul.
The gateway of the oppidum or hillfort of Bibracte in France has been reconstructed, and it it really worth seeing ! You are extremely lucky to have such monuments of history to examine; the most we have in the remote area of Australia that I live in are some fast eroding Aboriginal fish traps. Certainly, we find flint tools, but it is difficult to determine whether they were made 50 years ago, or 50000 ! Thanks for the tour; I am too old and crippled to be likely to return to England or Europe so I particularly enjoy channels such as yours ! Something that piqued my interest was the cave marked on your map, as I did a lot of cave exploration in my youth; the fact that it seems to be within the protected area of the camp between the rivers made me wonder whether it has been archaeologically explored ?
Thank you for watching my small adventure in history Ashley-Investigations in the past at this site have revealed Iron Age & Roman coins and a Neolithic quern stone-These investigations were over 30 years ago and quite small-The trees and the Forest have engulfed the site . So in summary it is lost to time and a forgotten monument in this area !
Interesting one, added to list when in the area
