Tip for Akido : Try to ALWAYS keep balance , don,t do crazy jumps etc like you see pros do on videos and so on. Because if you do you can control your opponent much easier.
If your having trouble trying to not go down, I have a souloution. It keeps the fluidly movement, so what you have to do is, hold chest, hold shoulders, hold hips, and hold glutes.
I start by extending both of my glutes in order to do what i always call the “black widow stance” on boxshu and i usually am able to dodge attacks by contracting the glute in the opposite direction of where the opponent is attacking and extending that same hip so if the opponentis attacking from so if they attack from the left i extend right hip and contract right glute then so usually jump out of the way. Other than that im not that good at fighting so thanks for teaching me that i can still do well without holding 😎👍

I have tried relaxed but find that no matter what I did, I was usually getting forced to the ground because of a stray relaxed glute or a relaxed wrist. I also believe that when you hold, things like kicks have more power, though less momentum. So, I know that relaxing is probably the best thing to do, but even if I ever do become a pro like I wish to, I am sure that I will always hold.
Pro tip formm me: If you sometimes relax if your holding mostly and do some relax moves, or hold all when you are relaxing mostly and do it the other way around then you can confuse your opponent, hes move wont do what it said it would do, it create an opening. You just gotta know when to do it.

I got a play style you might use. Just make almost ALL your joints move a diffrent way. Its probs hard at first and your problably gonna reset a lot I usally start with a relax punch then make one leg go back other just stiff. Customize from here :P

Aikido tip: Extend your pecs use your shoulders and rotatr chest alot! It really helps, Also, go for liftups and suplexes whenever possible!

Yeah pretty much man, its easier to dm someone in holdall rather than relax, so relax is safer to avoid losing joints
