I do like Buvey but he genuinely does just decide what he wants to be true, regardless of whether it is or not, and then goes from there. Doesn't matter what actually happened or what arguments other people make, that's his truth and he'll waffle until people just move on.

I can’t take him seriously cause he’s just drenched in agenda and he’s mostly just trying to rile rival fans up. He’s no Flav when it comes to rustling jimmies though, Flav does it with the cheekiness of a little scamp.

Napoli winning the league after 33 years going hand in hand after Argentina winning the world cup, both for Maradona was one of the best footballing moments in 2023 for me personally, it was like a full cycle moment, a story that could have not been written any better. Forza Napoli Sempre

Rory and Buvey aren't good journalists (if that's what u call them) they go for cheap clicks, like Baiting fans of rival clubs and making outlandish claims.
I think James is on another level, he has integrity and a really professional feel to his content, but actually letting those two on his show isn't good.

Sheffield Wednesday in the Playoffs is by far the top footballing moment of 2023.

Really like Nicks shout to rehash the Libero type of CB, I think that defenders are getting technically solid enough to start bringing the ball forwards more directly. There's also several midfielders who I think could really excel in that role too, Declan Rice and Scott McTominay come to mind having both played at CB before.

  • @songbird5842

Lyes is wrong about the crowd numbers. A few select games bring bumper crowds, sure, but attendances in the Saudi league outside of the big PIF owned clubs are very low. This is in large part due to the fact the country is massive, travelling to away games is very difficult and the domestic game doesn't have as much support from locals as foreign leagues. Many Saudis will opt to support either one of the big boys domestically, or a big European team.
Even for the PIF owned clubs like Al Hilal, average attendances are Championship level. Recommend the Athletic's reporting on this or the recent video from Rabona TV for a short-form version.

There’s an extreme sense of irony in everything that Rory says which makes him the biggest hypocrite going (after Buvey but Buvey’s just a boring troll with no actual personality or knowledge of anything).
But with Rory, he talks about his love of the game and the magical moments of winning trophies, yet denies that all of their recent success is literally corrupt. He’ll then belittle other clubs for not achieving success for doing things (seemingly) legally and above board, and saying the club is a joke or pathetic etc etc.
If every fan only followed football for current success, only 4 teams would have fans and the sport would cease to exist. Talks out of his ass, which he ironically resembles physically and mentally as well.

The Zhaka moment is where Arsenal lost the league. Its not the tackle, its not the result, its not even the moment.. its the way the occasion, the atmosphere and the pressure ate them alive... Granit looked up to the anfield crowd and smirked, within minutes the entire arsenal squad looked like 5 year olds that dropped their ice cream, looking around lost for answers and too scared to cry. They never recovered from that moment and you can tell it seeped into training because Arteta became increasingly frantic and desperate in post march interviews and completely absent of ideas .. he had that look in his eyes of a father than cant but his son a bike for Christmas but doesnt have the balls to tell them honestly, like the "there, there" pat on the back, "second is still a great achievement" speech began that day

They know how they're looked at, how the club and its recent achievements are viewed, whether ppl come right out and say it or not, so there's always this kind of try-hard feel to City fans' arguments, like insecurity and defensiveness usually just ever so slightly below the surface but necessarily ever present.

I genuinely find it hilarious that they photoshopped our UCL parade (the one area of success that they can't argue they are superior to us in) with a can of 7up. Their shameless rebuttal of an unforgivable loss, with the biggest trophy in club football.

Used to listen during C0VID (it seemed to help my health anxiety), but haven't for years since, and after checking back in quickly out of curiosity, I feel content that I'm missing nothing.

Amusing listening to these neutrals attempting to put a negative spin on Manchester City winning the Treble(actually a Quintuple). As City sit within striking distance. Despite going through their worst run of form under Guardiola. With KDB, Haaland, and Doku returning. Just in time for the business half of the season...

How on earth can Flav make West Ham winning a European title all about spurs?
Proper tosser that bloke. JLA is miles ahead of him in terms of character and ball knowledge.

Tbh I never understood why JLA made a long-form two-hander podcast with Flav of all people. He's one of James' less likeable and watchable associates.

Flav has to be my least favourite football pundit. Shows so much animosity for teams that aren't Spurs, and not in a tongue-in-cheek, wind-up merchant way like Buvey. The way he thought poorly of the Conference League because he had never heard of the teams competing is embarrassing, many of those teams have won more trophies than Spurs have in the last 20 years! Say what you will about Rory's bad takes, but he's a man who truly loves the sport, sportsmanship, what football represents. Doesn't have a sneery attitude towards other teams or "lesser" trophies, in fact he often celebrates them! Flav is just constantly sour, in denial about Spurs not being a big club anymore. He makes all those JLA collabs he does unwatchable.

That said, speaking as someone who is from the West Midlands (not a City fan though), Buvey is a childish pedant with no self-awareness, an embarrassment to our counties. And remember that Rory's an actor at root, so he can make anything sound charming and entertaining, even venal unpleasant takes.

@@pendafen7405 I think Buvey's popularity lies in the fact that he riles people up, and knows he's doing it. Sometimes he'll say things he doesn't believe just to hit the nerve with some people. Whether or not this is something one likes to see in football commentary is a matter of preference haha, but that's really his one main purpose. His solo videos are basically unwatchable because he has nothing really interesting to say on his own when he isn't interacting with others.
Fair enough about Rory, I do think he has respect for clubs outside of Chelsea though, even if his takes are far too knee-jerk to be taken seriously. I was really just mentioning him to contrast with Flav, who seems to think Spurs are the only club worth knowing anything about. For a Spurs fan page he could be fine, but in any other context he's just a bore to listen to. Glad to hear someone agrees with me.

Shouldn’t have Rory on a vid with Lyes. Lyes is so far ahead of this geezer and makes him look stupid 😂
