I bought this cd three days ago and was listening to this in my car driving home from work, I couldn't believe it when it came to that choir. Really I had to cry and repeated that part for almost 30 minutes - amazing ( the lyrics fit perfect!).
These guys always impress me. Such talent

Mostly Hannes. Hannes wrote most of Omnivium. I love this song tho haha. I think is the only one Steffen ACTUALLY wrote entirely on his own on this album. Fractal Dimension is unfortunately the mediocre song imo. I dont feel anything emotionally in it till the ending section then it goes full class Obscura mode. It's weird that I don't get any emotion out of it though because Tom wrote it and I'm sure I'm going to with Weltseele.
I think they replaced this technique with ambient melodies, that personally I would not define "mediocre". Gorod are amazing and I agree with you!
You can hear the Gojira influence vocally and also musically at the beginning.

I don't dig it why they are being more fond of using clean vocals and going slow in the newer stuffs! Some of the tracks of akroasis are great but I would like to get straight to the face tech death stuffs from them like retribution/cosmogenesis/septuagint! At least can expect this from one of my most favorite tech death act 😄

Akroasis is my favourite song of the released songs so far. Not too fond of this one and I think Sermon of the Seven Suns could have been a bit more concise. I still have high hopes for this album though. I don't think Obscura are a band to disappoint.
I like songs that have more than a handful of thematic material that doesnt just happen once and Sermon totally does that and its wonderful. Akroasis does too. I kinda see your point. Theyre both able to accomplish basically the same thing structurally but Akroasis doesnt need as much time to say it. Cant imagine how you must feel about songs like Weltseele, Funeral for a Continent, The Radial Covenant, etc or whatever haha

The only Obscura songs I dont like are None Shall Be Spared, Hate Anthem, Alone, Sweet Silence, Choir of Spirits and Fractal Dimension.
So like do you think Retraced is balls? Come ON man. Fair enough tho. And some of Paul Simons tracks rule to me haha. To each their own. I dont think this is a 1/10 thatd be like.... That Temper Temper album BFMV put out. Its such insencere bullshit music
