This just proves to me that Lin, is not just a great performer and songwriter, but he is also a very good Director just watching him talk about all the little details that he put in the film. Things that the audience would never know just shows you how much research he does and not only that but how he would talk about how he used the camera. How he knew how important it was to show how many people are there and how Jon would want everyone involved.

Andrew is a better actor and musician and musical performer than I would ever have Imagined. He was wonderful and Miranda's direction was genius. While watching the movie I was looking at all the people in the background in every scene wondering who the actor was and how they were significant bc Lin loves that kind of detail. Especially in the diner scene, I didn’t know enough broadway actors to know most of those people but knowing 3 or 4 of them by name and a couple hy faces was enough for me to know how special it was.

Lin actually makes a good stage-to-movie-musical director just because he knows his audience and he knows the actors he should get involved. Even In The Heights, which he didn't direct but I think he was still heavily involved in the creative prodcess and a producer, features more Broadway actors than many movie musicals before. And to have these stage actors and stage icons in this movie instead of the big, bankable Hollywood stars feels very refreshing
