What do you use to edit your videos? Do you script these out or just sit down and talk? I know there's 101 different places to learn how to make better videos, but yours are just so damn well done. Would love a peak into how you produced this (in a desperate attempt to make my own not look like they were filmed & edited on a potato).
It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the corporate ladder. I haven't seen one that doesn't make people turn on each other, seems like it just encourages back stabbing to get ahead and the result of that is a toxic work environment.
How about how to decide what startup to join as a non-founder? Optimize for mission, culture, business model, etc. A lot of your content is tailored to founders but there’s more nonfounders out there!

Despite having a lot of friends, I love making new friends and connections. Makes me feel like that’s one of the best things in life is meeting new people and gaining new experiences, perspectives, and sharing them!
After 30, everyone who wants to be your friend has a motive. Logically no one seek friendships in the middle of having to pay bills, student loans, raising kids, “surviving life”. Sad but true!
As an introvert without many friends I found this challenging to watch but also eye opening. I wonder if vulnerability is easier to overcome with new people if you have a sense of security and accomplishment already?
Totally get you. I am an introvert myself and my view lately is when I meet a new person this is a white piece of paper about myself. I control how I make the impression.
Idk I guess if you're genuine it's easier to connect with people and than slowly be more vulnerable with eachother like... you can't just use someone to make you feel better without being willing to support them too.
As someone who as moved more than average as an adult I find it odd that people think you can't make new friends after 30. In fact I would go so far as to say most of my really close friends were made after I turned 30. I think this has a lot to do with my own maturity and finding out who I really am and what I want and how to best represent that authentically to others. Also I became calmer and less judgemental, that helps a lot too lol!
It's also nice to make friends who have different professions/hobbies than yours, you get to learn and experience new things just by hanging out with them.
Really like your thoughts in this video, completely agree. If you start seeing everyone as the same as of the same value, you start to see people for who they really are.
I totally agree with whatever you're sharing in this video strangers always have something you don't have and if they don't have something im sure you'll have something for them always be kind to others people your content is good as always.
Justin, can i just say thank you for the videos you make. Your channel is a true discovery of 2021 for me. I love your openness and authenticity. Thank you for being an inspiration and a good example of how I want to have my own TH-cam channel to be ❣️
It's amazing how walking so different ways (Success, etc...) we reach the same conclusions at a similar age. I love your channel, which I discovered from Joma. Subscribed. It's weird because TH-cam makes the followers think we have some friends that we really don't, as they are unidirectional, but the feeling is similar. I guess same thing happened in the past with books. Anyway, you remind me to an older matured Tyler Durden. I love the vibe! Keep it up!
Justin always seemed like a fully conscious person with high level of emotional intelligence and empathy. Those are great skills to have to be able to enjoy and experience life. I hope I bump into him one day and we become close friends.
This transparency and honesty is the exact reason why I follow you ever since Atrium days. Keep at it big dawwwwwg! (ps: random memory, that atrium newsletter was PACKED with insane value!)
Thanks for this video. People are really curious once you gain some popularity and want to get closer to you. It's not always money related, but it happens, unfortunately. Glad to see that you're so open for new relationships and connections, that's always a good thing! I mean what's better than exchanging ideas, knowledge and experience with new friends? We just benefit and learn from each other. 😊
I have always said "A stranger is a friend waiting go be made"... no idea that people actually also felt that way and that there is a quote out there for this ha! Love it!
I dont ever know or met any billionaires in real life, here I only know a glimpse of who Justin is when twitch was built. But here listening to Justin express his deepest thoughts and opinion is the closest thing I will ever get to hear his natural thoughts and belief. All I can say is Justin is a very chilled entrepreneur. Aspiring to remind me to broaden my mindset.
your title/thumbnails are getting way better. on top of that, the topics you're talking about are interesting so even though you started talking about how to make friends instead of solely speaking about what the title was. it was kind of like a trojan horse move...i like that
Justin speaking softly on this video makes me think his kid is napping. Keep up the great content! Love how direct and concise it is. Can just tell this is how you are as an adviser to entrepreneurs and founders.
Wow this is exactly what I needed to hear at this point in my life, this video really resonated with me thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter
I came thinking people would just flex on this topic and show off how successful their friends are or they don’t give to shit to successful person, but found this is a honest discussion about being an adult making friends with almost everybody you meet, both successful ones and someone not, no hate, no bias. That’s very positive, constructive and actually very uncommon on TH-cam. 👍
Hey Justin, what I’m looking for is content related to my current circumstances - mid 20s, intensely interested in quitting my job and starting a company. Topics I’d love to see are things like: - understanding the mindset you had when you first started Justin tv - what was your attitude to being an employee? Or investing for your future? Or ignoring friends and family more than you liked? - how you stayed focused day to day on Justin tv - did you have a rigid routine? Or just wake up and grind out? I’m most interested in hearing about your early justin tv days as that’s what I can relate to right now, and since you made it work I’d love to hear all the tiny details about your life at that time. I appreciate people telling me there’s a lot more to life than starting a successful business and making money, but I could be told that a million times and (for better or worse) it won’t change my mindset.
As someone who until the pandemic was living in a different country every year, I can attest that making new friends as an adult is rough. The funny thing is it's not always hard. If you meet another adult who is open to having new friends, then it's the easiest thing in the world. Unfortunately, from my experience, by this age most people start to get closed off. They're comfortable and unwilling to do anything that might disrupt that comfort. And there is nothing you can do about it. The only advice I have is to just keep trying. It can become discouraging if you continuously meet closed off people. But just cause one person doesn't want to be your friend, doesn't mean the next person you meet will be the same. Every new person is a whole new blank slate to try.
Hi Justin, I recently came across one of your videos. I’m really enjoying them :) I do have a question, not trying to be rude, but why do you run ads on your video’s? Thank you if you find the time to respond. Kind regards from Belgium

Being 100% honest, I think I would love to be friends with you/ a guy like you. Not a "Hey man, I know you're loaded gimme some" kind of friendship, but something true. Like I always imagine being that confidant. Someone that doesn't ask for anything, and is always there. I mean that's typically the type of friend I am anyway, but I hear in the upper echelon you don't have many friends like that. This video is a good explanation into that.
It is true that some people have real social skills and love people. Now, if you are looking for truly meaningful relationships, that will surely translate into very few friends.
Your a pretty cool dude I also noticed the lack of new “real friends” as I say since the age of 21 I’ve been living in Atlanta doing music. You know if you always view or weight friends, you will end up lonely. Just set aside some budgets for friends entertainment and money aid for the year. Don't regret what you have willingly spend on friends and stay away toxic friends.
Overall, I like this message and share a similar perspective. But the thing about ‘just telling’ a friend when you think they did you wrong, can be way more complicated than that. Sometimes, when you know a person and how they process critique, it can actually be the selfish thing to do to be explicit with them about your own perception of the situation. Not everyone in our lives is open or secure (or even stable) enough to work through their part in a rift… even if they’re a good person. Everyone is learning at their own pace. Telling someone how they hurt us, or why we think they’ve wronged us helps us feel like we’ve cleared the air or got something off our chest. But some people internalize that shit and can end up being like the happy waiter in his pre-happy days. I’m super careful about how I communicate my own feelings to the people that I have more insight into. Sometimes, our problems with others actually underlines our own issues that we have to work on. so, even though I agree a good heart to heart is the right way forward in some cases, im just saying we have to exercise empathy and recognize our own part in how other people make us feel.
