Well Marion was established as Loomis’ nurse and caretaker in H20, yet she’s nowhere to be seen in the thorn trilogy. Not trying to ruin your comment though, these movies are what you make of them!
That’s the thing about us Halloween fans we have all had our favorite timeline since h20 retconned things i think. I’ve always been a 1,2,H20 person. I think that’s why I wasn’t mad when I didn’t enjoy 18 as much as others. For me 18 is just H40. I realize not everyone is a huge fan so that might have flown over peoples heads, like how much of 18 feels like a remake of H20. But I am a huge fan and I wasn’t impressed by the story. The mask and James judge Courtney as Michael of course were great. I wasn’t so bothered by ends, I liked it. Once again it’s cause I’ve had my own head cannon for years so for me it was a refreshing new story. I know for people invested in the new trilogy it was very disappointing and that sucks. But to those fans or new fans I wanna say, choose ur own adventure lol. I lived through the disappointment of resurrection, I’ve been hit hard before. For me and others the solution has always been preferred timelines.
I really enjoyed watching this in the theater with my mom, who got me into the Halloween series. Even with the Scream tropes throughout, it's still a fun movie to watch.

If you think the Halloween mentioned in Scream -> Scream 2 is in Halloween H20 is a crazy reference bonanza think about this: In Halloween (1978) Laurie says to the kids "Go to the MacKenzie 's" In Scream Casey Becker's dad says to Casey's mom "Go to the MacKenzie's" and in Halloween H20 Laurie says to his son and son's girlfriend "Drive down to the Becker's"
H20 has some giant issues, but the opening and the ending are definitive for me. Some serious nostalgia though, I convinced my mom to let me see it when i was 14 in theaters after i had just watched the original. Hard to beat the impact of that regardless of quality
@jeremyjahns I hope you know someone is going around in your comments section pretending to be you. This asshat 👆 scammed me for $85 in "shipping" costs after saying i had won a ps5, hp laptop, electric guitar, and dvd set. Stupid me for falling for it, but everyone needs to be aware
I love H20 because it keeps the brother sister narrative which I think makes the suspense so much greater and Mike Myers psychotic state even more psychotic in the fact it’s his own damn sister 👧 🔪. The very definition of psychopathy is to not have the ability to feel empathetic, is there a trait that emphasises this more than hunting your own sister!?
I don’t really understand why so many people are opposed to the brother/sister linkage. Is it a little hacky? Maybe, but it provides motivation to keep the story going.
It’s one of the better Halloween sequels, even though it continues the ridiculous ‘brother/sister’ thing. That late 90s feel it has is like a warm fire on a cold night lol
"Why am I worried about spoilers this movie is 24 years old" Sorry Jeremy but idiots WILL complain that you spoiled this 24 year old movie for them. That's how the internet works. "Oh you spoiled this for me, you spoiled that for me, that came out 24 years ago but you still spoiled it for me WHAT Darth Vader is Luke's father how could you spoil it for me?" Ugh.
Halloween III is the most “Halloween” movie there is, after the original. it is the closest we got to the yearly Halloween anthology John Carpenter wanted to create. H3 is a great little movie on it’s own. Imagine the amazing horror stories we could have gotten if the studio hadn’t gotten in the way. 4 more days till Halloween…Silver Shamrock! 🎃🧙🏽💀
I love the scene where Laurie is confessing who she actually is, to her boyfriend. The eerie music that plays as she tells 'The tale of Micheal Myers' and the look of disbelief on the boyfriends face afterwards. And then he gets gutted like a fish...but that scene was great
H20 was the first Halloween movie I saw as a child. My parents had a crazy collection of vhs tapes & we went through a lot of them during a hurricane one year & H20 was in the lineup. I always loved that movie but I thought it was nostalgia goggles that made it for me. Lowkey kinda glad I wasn't wrong on that front. One of the few outliers of the black people die first trope back then. The opening with JGL & the lady leading into Loomis talking about Michael having the devil's eyes was terrifying as a kid. Given how the new trilogy went, gun to my head, I'd probably make my trilogy 1,2, & 20 Year Later. Also, total admission to the rose tinted nostalgia goggles here but I like the trainwreck that is Resurrection. I'd even say it's more fun to watch than Kills & Ends. Busta Rhymes roundhouse kicks Michael in a burning garage. It's totally bonkers. 2018 is cool. I used to watch all of them on AMC during October too so even the franchise's bad sequels have always been guilty pleasures.
@Fletch Ends is better than 2018, but Kills was a new level of shit. Although not sure if its worse than 4, 5, 6, resurrection, or the Rob Zombie shit. Really don't why people are saying the new Halloween killed the franchise. Its been dead since the 80's.
Yeah ends is a disrespectful piece of shit but you have to admit kills did what the title said so it was pretty good for that. It was a fun simple slasher with good ideas and good lines. 2018 was so good tho
Very underrated film. The scene where Laurie breaks the gate control with a rock to lock her and Michael in - then screaming “MICHAEL!” while carrying an axe as the Halloween theme kicks in was more badass then in Halloween Ends.
Kevin Williamson wrote the story for h20 and worked on one of the drafts so it heavily has the scream feel to it. My preferred timeline is 1 2 and 4. By the end of 4 "evil" has gone full circle. If you've seen 4 you know what I'm talking about
my favorite trilogy and or timeline is the original Halloween , Halloween 2 and Halloween 4. and then you end it there. The little girl at the top of the stairs with bloody Scissors in her hands. It's starting again. The message being is that evil doesn't die...it's a force of nature.
Yup, I like that. I also like Halloween 1 and 2 and that’s it. Ultimately I like Halloween ‘78 and done. Such a scary and effective ending in that he’s still out there and he could be anywhere. Very chilling! It really should never have been a franchise.
The Elm Street franchise has a similar Trilogy I like to call the Nancy Trilogy which is the original A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Dream Warriors and then A New Nightmare all feature the character Nancy (mostly) as a main character
I’m probably the only person to ever say this but my favorite trilogy out of the group is 4, 5 & 6. I loved the Danielle Harris movies and part 6 is just really nostalgic for me. I love watching that mean drunk dad getting killed in the basement!
Man, I'm a few years older, but our taste in movies are eerily similar, you are the main movie buffer for my wife and I, we've learned,if it's not a " good time " for you, it generally won't be for us, Halloween is my least favorite horror franchise, but we still watch your reaction, you're awesome bro...
H20 will forever be one of my absolute favorite slasher (or horror in general) movies. It was my gateway into the genre and I love every second of it. Don't care at all about the lack of gore, as I don't feel it's needed in Halloween. There's basically not a drop of blood in the original either. This is also by far the best performance Jamie Lee Curtis had in the franchise imo.
I just saw Halloween H20 a few weeks ago for the first time and I really enjoyed it. And I still haven’t seen Resurrection so the ending of H20 hasn’t been ruined for me lol
I never understood how this movie justified including Halloween II. Michael burned to death at the end of that. And making them brother and sister was just beyond stupid. Serial killers are terrifying because they don't need a reason to go after you. If you come across one and they have the opportunity to kill you, they will. It doesn't matter if they know you or not. Having Michael want to kill Laurie because they're siblings really makes him less terrifying. And if he needed that kind of reason to go after her why murder her friends in the original?
Evil dies tonight! .....Evil dies tonight! .....Evil dies tonight! ....Evil dies tonight! Repeat another 50x .... Spoiler: Um no evil didn't die tonight 🤦
This movie when I saw it in theatres was the best! Modern technically but dramatic and thrilling like the original. IMO underrated but I get it it’s quintessentially 90’s
H20 did Laurie Strode so much better than the new trilogy. And her final showdown with Michael is perfect in my opinion. She faces her fears, goes looking for the danger and cuts his head off. H1, H2 and H20 are still my official trilogy/timeline.
Each year I'm going to alternate between Halloween 1978, Halloween 2 and H20 and Halloween 1978, Halloween 2018, Kills and Ends. I love both sets so as a fan, I'm happy.
Though you'd have to take some major leaps in logic and ignore some crucial details, I stand by Halloween 4 being a worthy part of Laurie's story that could fit in between Halloween 2 and H20. I think 4 is still a solid return to form for the franchise and stands alone in the sequels before they devolved into the Thorn stuff. Again, have to ignore some things in the continuity, but it could be that Laurie faked her death to hide in CA and gave Jamie up to protect both of them. It could explain why she was still so on edge about Michael even 20 years later, having heard that he came back for her and her daughter, making her even more fearful for her son's safety. Also! I haven't seen Ends, but I'm hearing praise being given for "taking the story in a new unexpected direction" by making Corey a proxy Michael--a passing of the torch. BUT, just like the fact that they already rebooted the Laurie story with H20 (which is why 2018 felt so redundant and tired to me), they've also already explored the passing of the Myers torch idea with Jamie in the original sequels!! This well has truly run dry.
I love that the man who was in a bodybag, attacked Laurie Strode while she was driving, went flying through a windshield, got ran over by a van, got crushed between the van and a tree and refused to take off his mask the entire time was actually a paramedic with a crushed larynx and not Michael Myers. I also love how Resurrection focuses on a new character and forgot that Josh Harnett was Laurie's son in H20.
I was caught off guard to hear other people also see the Halloween cannon as Halloween 1, Halloween 2, then H20. I kinda thought I was alone on that hill. 😅 Oh and of course Halloween 3 is welcome to join my canon as well. I saw Halloween 2018 and thought it was good, thought it should have stopped there tho. Saw Halloween Kills and was severely disappointed. So much so I have yet to watch Halloween Ends. Because the Halloween movies really ended with H20 for me. I'd still love to know how Michael got his eyes back after Halloween 2 though... was that ever explained?
@@Rabbitwannagrabit Except it is canon to me. Because the whole conversation and start of the video was, what Halloween movies we consider canon. The sequel to HALLOWEEN ENDS could involve time traveling back to the time of H20 and picking up the story from there. This would make it possible for Jamie Lee Curtis to return and put an end to Michael once and for all again.

Well Marion was established as Loomis’ nurse and caretaker in H20, yet she’s nowhere to be seen in the thorn trilogy. Not trying to ruin your comment though, these movies are what you make of them!
This was actually my first Halloween movie. Saw it maybe a year before Resurrection came out, then watched 1, 2, 4, 5 then Resurrection then 6
That’s the thing about us Halloween fans we have all had our favorite timeline since h20 retconned things i think.
It’s absolutely not as bad as resurrection that’s for sure
I really enjoyed watching this in the theater with my mom, who got me into the Halloween series. Even with the Scream tropes throughout, it's still a fun movie to watch.
Halloween is like a generational time capsule of a franchise, one day we will look back on this most recent trilogy the same way. Great work on the video as always Jeremy!
@@thotslayer9914 I doubt it, there will be fans. Halloween 3 has become a cult classic, & somehow even H5 & 6 have thier fans. I'd argue H20 started showing its age shockingly soon for it's time, theres jus something about 90s & early 2000s slashers that all aged super quick
@@thotslayer9914 This trilogy will be a fan fav in 20 years
@@NerdySabbath I actually like the new trilogy, yes even Ends. And I think I even appreciate kills a bit more. Although I think the whole trilogy would have worked better if they had introduced Corey in 2018 instead of Ends, but it is what it is.
@@NerdySabbath Halloween 3 was like the idea John Carpenter had of the Halloween movies, which is an anthology franchise where things happen on Halloween that aren’t connected which is why people appreciate its existence
@@thotslayer9914 i love the new trilogy, not Ends as much but I love 2018, kills for different reasons, and Ends I will appreciate it more as time goes on in my opinion
Halloween 1, 2, and H20 are my trilogy. Periodt
Honestly, H20 is practically perfect in every way. Pacing was perfect, no padding the run time. Whole thing was brilliant.
It has a lot of fake out jumpscares though.
Always appreciate these throwback reviews!
Same. I wanna see more
If you think the Halloween mentioned in Scream -> Scream 2 is in Halloween H20 is a crazy reference bonanza think about this: In Halloween (1978) Laurie says to the kids "Go to the MacKenzie 's" In Scream Casey Becker's dad says to Casey's mom "Go to the MacKenzie's" and in Halloween H20 Laurie says to his son and son's girlfriend "Drive down to the Becker's"
@@keefriff99 totally agree, the brother sister link makes his actions even less forgivable and so much more terrifying
@@keefriff99 Michael doesn’t need motivation, that’s what’s scary. That’s the main issue that the sibling link raises.
@@theshaneakers and on the flip side, the fact that it’s his sister means nothing to him
@@theshaneakers
I get that argument and I see the merit in it, but I still don’t think the fact that they’re siblings is such a horrible thing.
I personally love H20 , I think its really underrated and not appreciated as much as it should be
It’s one of the better Halloween sequels, even though it continues the ridiculous ‘brother/sister’ thing. That late 90s feel it has is like a warm fire on a cold night lol
Brother sister made it More interesting.
@@k9m42 Lol
I think we all forgot that Josh Hartnett existed
I love doing 1, 2, & H20 as a trilogy
"Why am I worried about spoilers this movie is 24 years old"
Sorry Jeremy but idiots WILL complain that you spoiled this 24 year old movie for them. That's how the internet works.
"Oh you spoiled this for me, you spoiled that for me, that came out 24 years ago but you still spoiled it for me WHAT Darth Vader is Luke's father how could you spoil it for me?" Ugh.
The opening scene with Levitt investigating still gets me idc
Halloween III is the most “Halloween” movie there is, after the original. it is the closest we got to the yearly Halloween anthology John Carpenter wanted to create. H3 is a great little movie on it’s own. Imagine the amazing horror stories we could have gotten if the studio hadn’t gotten in the way. 4 more days till Halloween…Silver Shamrock! 🎃🧙🏽💀
Halloween 1,2,4 is the best Michael Myers trilogy.
Was actually the first Halloween movie I saw. Enjoyed it as a 14 year old back then. Enjoy it now.
Halloween 2018 was the true ending. Kills and Ends are worthless.
@Fletch no sir they really weren't
@Fletch Nope!
@Fletch Ends is better than 2018, but Kills was a new level of shit. Although not sure if its worse than 4, 5, 6, resurrection, or the Rob Zombie shit. Really don't why people are saying the new Halloween killed the franchise. Its been dead since the 80's.
Kills was good, but Ends needs to be reshot.
Oh god yes. I stood up and clapped in 98 when that head went off.
I said this exact thing in my Ends review. 1, 2, and H20 is the perfect timeline. And after watching H20 yesterday I am standing by that.
This is my favorite Halloween movie. Seen them all but this one was gold. IMO
"Scream 1 mentions Michael Myers... and in Halloween H20, they're watching Scream 2. That's breaking the fourth wall's fourth wall."
That's like... 16 walls!!
Kevin Williamson wrote the story for h20 and worked on one of the drafts so it heavily has the scream feel to it. My preferred timeline is 1 2 and 4. By the end of 4 "evil" has gone full circle. If you've seen 4 you know what I'm talking about
I love when you review older movies Jeremy, keep up the great work!
Halloween 1,2 and H20 is my preferred trilogy too!
my favorite trilogy and or timeline is the original Halloween , Halloween 2 and Halloween 4. and then you end it there.
4 is the best after 2. Shame they ruined the Jamie and Rachel story.
This is Where The Franchise ENDED!!
I Completely agree! I love watching H1-H2-H20 as the Halloween trilogy. Its the perfect ending
Love how H20 was like Laurie has a son…. Never mentioned again 😂😂
This movie is so underrated
Michael is blown up and shot in/above his eyes in Halloween 2, but in H20 he has zero scars and perfect eyes. They put no effort at all into H20
Weird. I thought the title of this movie was ‘the Paul Rudd one’
Halloween, Halloween 2 and Halloween H20 are definitely the superior versions
saw it when it came out in theaters back then - I thought it was badass, fun & a good ending!!
Halloween kills was amazing and had that one kill of a certain couple that made it completely worth it
H kills was awesome. Mikey went nuclear.
Evil dies tonight! .....Evil dies tonight! .....Evil dies tonight! ....Evil dies tonight! Repeat another 50x ....
Spoiler:
Um no evil didn't die tonight 🤦
This movie when I saw it in theatres was the best! Modern technically but dramatic and thrilling like the original. IMO underrated but I get it it’s quintessentially 90’s
H20 did Laurie Strode so much better than the new trilogy. And her final showdown with Michael is perfect in my opinion. She faces her fears, goes looking for the danger and cuts his head off.
H1, H2 and H20 are still my official trilogy/timeline.
The Monologue was so Great...
I love Halloween H20
I love when he reviews old movies
The true ending is Halloween II
Yes!
Then Resurrection happens…
But in hindsight, at least its not Ends
This movie had some great moments, like the closeup of Michael’s eye and it’s almost completely black. Chilling.
Breaking the 4th wall’s 4th wall made me cry laugh 😂
Well Halloween 3 was never a sequel to Michael. In fact they play Halloween 78 on tv in that movie.
@@Rabbitwannagrabit You're telling me this like I didn't already know any of it. And it still doesn't affect my OC.
@@B00s3 "welcome to join my canon" is what you said..Just sayin it's not canon...lol no need to get touchy.
@@Rabbitwannagrabit Except it is canon to me. Because the whole conversation and start of the video was, what Halloween movies we consider canon. And since Halloween 3 is a Halloween movie it can, and does fall into canon with some of us. Your first reply to me is seemingly just trying to ruin the fun by intentionally ignoring the part of the conversation. And pointing out exact things from Halloween 3 that only someone who hasn't seen it wouldn't know. Your comment was condescending.
@@B00s3 My comment was legit I was not trying to be rude...It is impossible for those movies to be canon to each other was my point..Sorry I "ruined your fun"..lol
The sequel to HALLOWEEN ENDS could involve time traveling back to the time of H20 and picking up the story from there. This would make it possible for Jamie Lee Curtis to return and put an end to Michael once and for all again.
I honestly enjoyed the Halloween 2007 version it was really brutal and like seeing Michael as a kid then go to the institute and seeing him big as hell and look really threatening
I feel like there is a moment in every video where Jeremy says something and I'm just like "God, I love you Jeremy". In this case it's his casual mentionings of how amazing Halloween 3 is
I like both timelines tbh, but the fact that scream exists in the universe AND they use the score from scream in movie it breaks my immersion also that cgi mask shot lol
Halloween H20 is the best sequel. Best story, and Laurie actually has a character arc for once.
I said this before and I will say it again… H2O will always be my favorite Halloween film, I personally think that it’s better than the original.
1 and 2 were good. H20 was next level. I do think that resurrection wasnt bad though. I like the way they explained Laurie killing the ambulance driver.
@@selfiekroos1777 resurrection had its good moments, but it wasn’t one of the best ones
I can’t over his mask in this movie, it ruins the movie for me. It’s also like a watered down scream movie.
Not as good as 12 and h20, but not bad
1:17 Jeremy, that was uncalled for. Such violent and direct attacks on my psyche are uncalled for and as such I must ask that you please refrain from doing so again or I will have my lawyers issue a cease and desist order.
